don't stay in the room on the top right (323 I think). you'll be waken up all night by the pump for the water that goes on every time someone on the floor uses water (earplugs are not enough)

A cozy stay with a lovely view of the hills. The pool was fantastic, and the staff was really friendly. The accommodation is close to restaurants and the beach, yet tucked away from the busy streets, perfect for a family! The room was spacious, clean, and had comfortable beds while remaining pretty quiet. Free drinking water was available, and a small selection of dishes could be ordered by the pool, making it ideal for a rainy or lazy day.

The shower and WiFi were not always reliable. Nearly every evening, the family behind the building burned their trash during sunset, which was quite unpleasant. Because of this, we never got to fully enjoy the sunset from our balcony. We also had to bring our wet swimming clothes inside to avoid them absorbing the smoke smell. Additionally, a pickup service from the pier would have been appreciated, we requested one but were simply advised to take a taxi. Despite these areas for improvement, we still consider this accommodation one of the better options for families and laid-back travelers.

This place is really terrific. It is on a busy road (but almost everything in Koh Tao is on a busy road) but I was able to get a room away from the road and slept very well. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have had in Asia. The wifi is not great but it's the provider's fault. It can be slow but works well enough throughout the day time, but in the early morning it is almost always completely out for 1 or 2 hours. I would not count on it for streaming videos, but I did not try, either. I did have some Zoom calls and it worked fine for that. The staff are nice once they get to know you. They were never mean - they are just very professional and business-minded, which is not a bad thing. The woman who deals mostly with customers has great English, listens very well, and knows what she's talking about. At first I thought everyone on the island was unfriendly, but I think it's just because they see so many tourists that it's hard to remain super friendly and smile all the time. The staff at Budchui aren't smiley, but they are definitely polite, attentive to guests' needs, and take care of business. The swimming pool is fantastic and a welcome addition. It is kept in very good condition and I used it often. In the room, the water heater, AC, fridge and kettle all worked very well. The sheets and towels are good quality. I had zero insect issues (including no ants or cockroaches). The staff cleaned my room whenever I asked and didn't clean it unless I asked (which is the way I like it). Be aware that they do collect a 1000 baht deposit for the room key. That's kind of a lot so best to arrive prepared for that and don't lose your key! There are excellent restaurants just around the corner from the hotel - literally a 3 minute walk. One of them has the best Thai food I have ever eaten, and I have spent a lot of time in Thailand. I liked this hotel so much, I ended up staying here long term. Thanks so much Budchui!

Nothing really. The wifi issues don't seem like it's the hotel's fault and honestly, I was easily able to get by with the wifi as it was. If you need better internet, maybe buy a Thai SIM card?

The room was clean and well-maintained. There was hot water, air-conditioning plus the bed was comfortable. Was a good space to rest after going out to dive. The staff were also really friendly to address my questions. Was lovely to have a convenience store located right outside the building.

It is a short walk from the main street but on some days when I'm really tired, the walk felt kinda long and it was not something I looked forward to. However, being a distance away from the main Sairee Beach area also meant that we were unaffected by the party noises - which meant that we got to have quality sleep, so it is a win. We engaged the laundry service provided it was 50baht/kg, but we didn't get to find out how much our laundry weighed till after, so the final price we had to pay kind of came as a shock to us (it was 120 baht for one-basket full - not sure whether that is considered expensive or not).

•to get to the hotel you have to walk about 2 minutes down a dark side road - this would be okay for families and couples etc. but could be something to consider if you’re a solo traveller , especially a girl !

Friendly staff, spacious rooms and a convenient 24 hour shop on site. It's a short walk to restaurants, bars and the beach (although it can be quite dark and quiet at night/early when getting up for dives). They let me check in early as there was a room available which I was so grateful for as I'd had a long travel day and arrived on the first ferry. The pool area is nice and was never busy, and the reception has free water, and tables in the shade.

My room was on the ground floor directly facing the communal area, and I couldn't open the curtains at all as people would glance in. The window at the back had the same issue as the family would use that space for comings and goings.

The room was really big and the 24 hours hotel mini market was really convenient! The laundry service was quick and easy. The room was big and clean with free bottled water provided. The receptionist was so lovely and accommodating! All other staff also really welcoming! They have there own taxi service which was very convenient and the pool area was really clean! The offering of free water refill and tea and coffee area was so great!

The pool toilets could have been lightly cleaner but not a massive issue

- Localisation is great if you want to explore a bit on foot - Stuff was friendly and helpful, booked taxi for me on a check out day, answered all the questions I had, and gave me some recommendations. - Shop next to hotel (literally downstairs, it's run by hotel stuff), better prices than in town - Comfortable bed I have to admit - Loads of good restaurants around with high google reviews ratings

- Noise from the street (Koh tao scooter rental business is so huge you have hundreds of them on the streets everywhere, some of them are very noisy) - Had to leave my driving license with them as a deposit which is weird, didn't know and expect that - Bathroom was a bit rough, shower on the wall next to the toilet, literally there was 50cm between the toilet itswlf and the wall which suppose to be a shower place

I loved staying here: room were clean, large and balcony were nice. It was handy to visit hotels own minimarket whenever needed. Staff were helpful with the taxis, restaurants and I got my laundry done there, 1kg 40bath. I liked that hotel were a bit further from the center, but still very close to walk. Sairee beach were nice, lot of reastaurants.

Echoed in the hallway near rooms, but it didnt bothered much, i slept with earplugs. Bed were good but pillows were way too thick ang big, neck is sore.

Super location! Just 5 min walk away from the main road, but quiet place. Supermarket with laundry service (40 baht/kg) right in front. Muay Thai gym nearby to take a class. Pool super nice (although in the morning there was a diving class using it). Room big and comfy, bed really comfy aswell. Nice size balcony. Free water refill machine in the reception. Recommend this place 100%!

Wifi is not working so well. In our booking, it said a pool view room but got a room towards the other side, I asked about it, and the pool view was fully booked, so nothing that much could be done. But not a big issue, I was really happy here anyway!
