We LOVED this hotel, so much so we ended up extending and stayed for a month in total. It looks better in real life than photos. The pool area is lovely, we stayed in the month of April and didn’t have an issue finding a sun bed by the pool or looking over the sea. You walk down steps from the restaurant straight into the calmest, clearest sea. It might not be in the heart of Chaweng but that means the beach is quieter and so much cleaner than the closer beaches. You can walk to Chaweng in around 30 mins either down the road or along the beach at low tide, or get a grab. There are also a couple of restaurants nearby if you don’t fancy the journey. We stayed in the main hotel which we would choose again as oppose to the villas, as the walkway to the pool/ restaurant is through the villas so they are less private than the hotel. The staff were very friendly and made an effort to remember our breakfast orders so brought over our coffees/ eggs in the morning without us asking. The breakfast was really good quality and lots of variety. We will definitely be back next time we are in Koh Samui.

Only suggestions not complaints - if it’s possible to stop the WiFi from disconnecting so frequently on phones that would be useful. Also something needed to control the ants by the pool area.

The property is very beautiful, the beach in front of it is one of the best, and changes its shape every day due to the water level. The staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfast in the morning is super!

We booked a double room asking for an extra bed, and unfortunately it was very uncomfortable. Also the place in which it was located was very noisy due to the AC motor fixed on the external side of the wall close to the extra bed, resulting very annoying. The day after we moved the bed on the other wall and the situation improved a little but it was not nice sleep there as well.

I was on a solo trip to Thailand with a 17 night stay at the Casa de Mar and the experience was EXCEPTIONAL. The quiet location at the end of gorgeous 7 kilometer Chewang beach made morning walks such a luxury with an expansive buffet breakfast to follow daily. The hospitality was so warm and inviting that days not spent sightseeing were a pleasure to spend at the resort. Poolside massages by Anna offered 7 days a week were excellent and the rooms offered great amenities, refreshed generously daily- water, beach towels, coffee, beach tote, robes, slippers...everything for your comfort! The gracious hospitality extended to the restaurant, too, where there were choices for every mood from Thai specialties to international comfort food. The open air seating looking out onto the sea made dining special everyday and I felt no need to eat anywhere else! I stayed in a garden villa and could not have been happier with my choice- quiet, private, huge bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub. This resort far exceeded my expectations and the pictures do not do justice to the setting and experience! For authentic simple luxury and exceptional hospitality in a quiet beach location and at the same time close to sights and activities, the Casa de Mar is a stellar choice!

I stayed here with a friend and I initially requested two beds so we were put in a room in the main building. It was fine but I had seen other images online so we asked to move even if the room had only one bed and the staff made it happen very easily. So the next 3 nights we were in a bungalow-type room which was very charming, with high ceilings and a large bathroom, and woven bags to take to the beach or pool (and the bed was very large so no problem sharing). The rest of the property is a pool, restaurant, and sitting area overlooking the gulf. The pool is lovely, and it was really nice to walk out into the water which in the morning has such a low tide you don't get wet over your thigh for some distance. Later in the day and evening the water comes right up to the stairs form the hotel pool area and is still very calm. The breakfast was nice, with a staff member making heart-shaped eggs and other requests. The staff were very responsive and helpful as well (our safe wouldn't lock and someone came in and immediately knew how to fix it). While I am not sure exactly what this was, one day I was spontaneously pulled into a sort of cooking demo at the restaurant near the pool. I had asked if others should join (like my fiend) but they said no. I made an interesting sweet and peppery dessert from dough we rolled like gnocchi and then fried. I think they were doing this again with another dish the next day. There are several other hotels nearby, but other than a few restaurants on the main road, this is not very close to the touristy areas (which might be a good thing). One more thing to note that is a fact about the island, not so much the hotel: there are no buses, or trains of course, so you have to call a car via Bolt or Grab or catch a taxi, fine, but beware that these rides are much more expensive than on the mainland.

Our AC unit worked well, but maybe too well because it dripped quite a bit of water through the night. But we alerted the staff who responded very quickly.

We stayed in the sea view bungalow, we had the best view and the sand was just on our doorstep. The rice pineapple dinner was amazing

The breakfast wasn’t to our liking.

We had a fabulous stay at Casa de Mar - for our honeymoon! We had booked a sea view room and we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a villa with our own swimming pool. Our stay was magical and we loved every minute. We would definitely come back if we visit Koh Samui again The breakfast buffet had so many options so you could eat something different and new every day - and we stayed for 5 nights so that was awesome! I had a massage at the pool side and it was amazing! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful Location of the hotel is great - just off the main road so not noisy. And a bit of a walk but walking distance to the night life / restaurants of Chaweng Beach. There are also 3 restaurants close to the hotel on the main road that had great food and were affordable.

Prices of food + drinks at the in house restaurant were quite high. Food was good but pricey. It was boosted though by 2 x happy hours at around lunch time and then around sunset time.

The rooms are very modern, functional and comfortable. The pool and restaurant area are very pretty and we enjoyed many meals there. I loved swimming in the pool whenever we had some downtime. The chaises around the pool are very pretty & comfortable and gives it a small boutique vibe. The location is great on Beach but the beach itself was not very impressive for swimming- the water was shallow and because it doesn’t empty into the ocean very freely there - it didn’t seems like the cleanest water.

The beach there was pretty to look at with shallow light blue colored water, but it wasn’t a very practical beach for swimming. We traveled about 20 minutes south to go to a nice beach for swimming. I would recommend staying there as long as you are not hoping to lay your towel out on a beach where you can swim.

Second time I stay here and I love that it is a little away from the busiest part in Chaweng. Free paddle boarding with incredible ocean views from the pool and really good breakfast options are the highlights for me

I love the massage option in the swimming pool area but all other hotels have more affordable prices for the classic massage so i would suggest to keep prices consistent with what's being offered along the beach

Loves being at the end of the Main beach the hotel was quiet but a pleasant stroll to all the action.

Loved the pool area, it looks onto a stunning beach! One of my favourite beaches I’ve ever stayed on, stunning blue water and white sands and you can walk for ages in it without it getting deep! Breakfast was fantastic looking out at the beach! Restaurants was fab, again based on the beach and staff were so friendly. Rooms were great, I liked that you could choose for staff to come clean the room or not, a smart touch and they left water and loo roll outside everyday!

Only downside to the hotel personally was the distance to the main strip of restaurants in Chaweng. There are choices of restaurants around the hotel but if you want to go to main area which is a bit more lively, it is at least a 25 min walk and is hilly. But again this is personal preference and not the hotels fault, they help organise taxis which is very easy!
