Very nice hotel with swimming pool and restaurant/bar right on a wonderful area of Lamai beach. Not really crowded at all (last day of July 25). Rooms (we had ground level and I recommend) are facing a garden behind the reception, pool and beach, just 45 seconds walk really. Included buffet breakfast was a plus, really nice and varied (continental, Asian, nothing extraordinary but anything you might want) The main street behind the Hotel site is very central (still, not the most hot and central part of Lamai) but you will find a couple of good restaurants and a seven eleven right there, very close. Personel is perfect, kind and professional. I will come here again, no doubt.

The geographical situation in the right part of Lamai, not noisy at all. The personnel at the reception and restaurant. Excellent. Globally, not much to complain about. Even WiFi was pretty good..

Perfect location right on the beach and in a position close to the main strip, with only a 2 minute walk to the main road and 7-11. Fab pool, loads of loungers and parasols by the pool, by the restaurant and on the beach. Plenty of clean towels, continually re-stocked through the day. Freshwater showers by the pool and even one on the beach. Lovely restaurant with an outstanding breakfast. All the food is top quality and the drinks too are great quality, from fruit juice to coffee. The room was spacious, with a balcony, large comfortable bed and plenty of free water each day. Motorcycles can be arranged through reception at a very reasonable cost and can be ready in 10 minutes, without having to leave a passport or deposit. Staff were superb. Everyone friendly and helpful. Fabulous gardens, tastefully planted to make you feel like you are walking in a small jungle resort.

There was nothing to improve on, but they strive to be better all the time.

The Hive Hotel was amazing - the staff were so friendly and helpful all the time! The beds were so comfortable and we all had fabulous sleeps! The sea view room was amazing - it had a porch that you could sit in whilst watching the rain. The rest of the family stayed in a deluxe villa and standard room, both comfortable. The daily breakfast buffet was amazing with local and western foods to choose from. The beach was amazing- the water was crystal clear and warm. We were having swims from 7am. The location was ideal and 2 minute walk into the main road where all the restaurants and shops were.

The resort areas are kept extremely clean especially the grounds and pool area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great location on the beach and a very short walk to restaurants, bars and shops etc. Lively area with live music, karaoke late into the night.

The only thing we didn’t really like was that there were a number of people smoking joints around the pool area. Obviously it’s perfectly legal in Thailand but this is a family resort and there were lots of small children around. In other places we’ve stayed it hasn’t been allowed. But maybe something to consider if you’re travelling with little ones.

The breakfast buffet was good , easy beach towel and chair availability on a nice stretch of beach We did not experience any bugs ( vs other reviews) Used the laundry service and were happy

The rooms feel a bit dark Shower water pressure was inconsistent Our room was backing on to the road and we could hear the street sometimes There was a stack of mattresses outside by the stairs to our room, the entire stay , which gave a bad impression

Fabulous location on beach with sun beds on both beachfront and poolside. Plenty of umbrellas for shade. Lovely clean pool,with showers for use after being in the sea or before going in the pool.plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Staff were always smiling and helpful, always a plentiful supply of pool towels. Rooms were set in delightful tropical gardens,

Had a fabulous stay at The Hive on Lamai beach. The hotel was well looked after and beautifully placed on the beach. Our room was 301 (second floor) and a really good size. Each room had a balcony whatever floor you were on and we felt the second floor was nice because it wasn’t overlooked at all. Lots of loungers around the pool and on the beach. On our fourth day it was a bit busier so harder to get a bed with shade. Nui on reception was really helpful and went the extra mile for every query we had. The hotel includes a complimentary breakfast which was perfect, and you could order additional food if you fancied. Staff were attentive. Beach is beautiful and close to lots of restaurants, bars and a walk to the Lamai view point. Would love to stay again some day. Thank you!

This hotel was just what we needed, it was comfortable and relaxed, the staff where super friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, it was right on the beach and it was located almost in the centre of the beach where it was easy to reach all areas around it. The pool was right on the edge of the beach so easy to go into the sea and then swim afterwards. it was also easy to go out to a great selection of restaurants at night, there are so many within walking distance from the hotel. The Lamai Night Market was about 15 minutes walk form the hotel and the best for really good value food. This market was really relaxed and had a great atmosphere with so many choices of different food and good value. There was so much choice we visited this market twice. I wish we could have stayed longer.

There we no negatives I can think of.

Location on the beach was amazing, just walk from the pool to white sands and blue seas. Free breakfast was great, nothing too flash but enough coffee, juices and food to give a great start to the day. Restaurant was next to pool and facing the beach and they did very reasonable lunch and evening meals. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, rooms made up everyday of you wanted and fresh towels and water waiting by the time you come back from breakfast. This isn’t High end luxury but the price, you get a great location on the beach with brillant service in nice clean simple hotel.

Pool and beachside location were so beautiful! Also very close to the lots of shops and restaurants but off the main street enough to be very quiet. Rooms had lots of storage space. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had.
