This is a family owned and run place in a non touristy neighborhood. It shows in all the many ways they take care of their guests. My first night, I arrived late and hungry from my flight. One of the owners took me to a neighborhood restaurant and translated all my dietary requirements to the owner of a small local place. They made me a special meal that wasn't on the menu. The breakfast is cooked eggs how you like and served with sliced fruit, cheeses, sweets, bread, and sliced meat. The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot. The wifi was good. The place is very clean. When I needed to see a doctor, they helped me find one and made all the phone calls for me. Lovely, kind people. One of my favorite places I've stayed at in years. The tram is 5 minutes away to take you to the tourists sights, or you can take a nice long walk. I found the neighborhood very safe as a single woman.

I enjoyed everything there, but there are things to be aware of - There is no elevator/lift. There is usually someone available to help you with your bags up the stairs. My room could have used "refreshing", so not a fancy up to date hotel. The speaker for the call to prayers(Adhan) is very close to the hotel, but it is lovely even early in the AM. There are dogs and cats downstairs, but they just hang out and don't bother you.

I had an excellent time in the Lotus Hotel. The equipment may be simple (like no lift and wallpapers have seen their days) but it´s enough (and beds are good). What´s good in particular: The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. I felt very much at home. The location is great, 3 metro stations or 10 minutes from Eminönü, the Hotel 5 minutes from Fener station. Or 2 minutes more, if you choose to go through the Ayakapi, which i liked to do. The neighbourhood itself is great - so many little shops and restaurants serving the locals, so that price and quality are the best deal. I should have followed the hotel managers advice and eaten more often there, Hadziocoglu Cafe recommended. There are even some hip (Yolo Cafe) or chic Cafes (at the Ayakapi). Try them all out.

They are very kind and work hard to make sure you’re comfortable. It’s in a convenient location for quickly using public transportation (including to and from IST airport), particularly the tram. The surrounding area is a relaxed non-touristy neighborhood with affordable shops and some good restaurants. Great portion size and quality breakfast for the price (€2 or equivalent).

If I start with breakfast was a typical turkish one with a lot of fresh and fermented vegetables, eggs each day prepared differently , fresh nice bread from local bakery, with clasic butter cheese, salami, marmelade add on. Everything served in front of you with tea and coffe. Full and more than enough meal to start every new day. What I need to underlay is of course the managment of hotel who introduce us how to move, where to move in Istanbul, where to eat for modest prices but good as in fency restaraunts. We were for the first time in Istanbul but we navigate there like we have been there for years, because of instraction from hotel managment. I can assure everybody who would like to see the city out of the tourist clasic box than go to this hotel. If you like cold proffesional distance and luxury hotels do not come here, if the opposite you like causy and warm atmosfere, a solid standard/ you have everything you need to be more thn confortable/,go to this hotel. It is situated in a old part of the city , so you can experience living with people in istanbul, but you can reach all main tourist attraction by foot or using just tram. Whenever after your daily trip through Istanbul streets you come back to hotel, you have the feeling you come to visit a home of a good friends, finshinig the day with nice conversation, drinking coffe or tea, which are always for free.

none suggestions, but keep the actual managment running the hotel the way they are doing. For me this is the most modern approach to tourism.

The location is ideal for anyone who do not want to use taxis as the T5 tram station Fener is a 10 minute walk away. This family owned hotel will not only meet but exceed your expectations. When you enter the hotel, you will be greeted by a short, slim girl called Elha and her husband, Vural and some cats and dogs. Both the husband and wife are very heplful for booking the transport to and from the Airport at very reasonable rates. We were also given the Istanbul Kart for us to use.The breakfast was lovely, too. My wife had a fall before coming here and Ela helped by giving ice for her to apply. The rooms, too are spacious. We felt like we were staying at a friends house and not in some hotel. We would love to stay here again.

Nothing.

The hotel is located in the central part, you can walk to all the main attractions, there are many shops (Sok, etc.), cafes and restaurants nearby. Trams and buses stop nearby, the metro is also within walking distance. Convenient to get from the airport, both from the new and from Sabiha. The room has a stable Internet signal, everything is clean, it works and is quite comfortable, there is a kettle, tea, sugar, etc. Very friendly staff, they will help you with everything. Photos correspond to reality.

The neighborhood is full of small, narrow streets, with many local shops that work pretty much 24/7. Also the position the hotel is great. All of the main turistic attractions are relatively near while the hotel surrounding is quiet and peacefull and not overcrowded with tourists. On top of that there are not any annoying restaurant & shop staff pushing you into their place as can not be told for the rest of Istanbul. In this great, domestic area, everybody mind their business, so we enjoyed it. We came at 2 am due to airplane delay, but Mr. Vural organized airport transport, waited for us, and even bought us a bottle of fresh water. Regarding the accommodation itself do not expect luxury and service level as provided in west europe. Hotel is oldish and we would like to have more towels at disposal but were told that we can grab additonal towels from the closet in the main hallway. Room was well supplied with fully working AC, hair dyer, TV, Tea kettle and some additional fresh bottle water in the fridge. Regarding our hosts we were amazed with their hospitality and warmth. Mr. Vural and Mrs. Elaheh speaks very good English, so each question / additional inquiry we had they solved asap. Bottom line is that we highly recommend this place to young people interested in exploring Istanbul. Thank you once more for making our trip pleasant and greetings from Croatia 🇭🇷.

The room was tidy and spacious enough for four friends and included a private bathroom. In the evenings, we played cards in the communal area downstairs and chatted with the lovely hosts and their sweet pets. The hosts were an absolute highlight of our stay in Istanbul, who made us feel like family. Every evening, they offered us tea or coffee when we returned from our daily adventures, and kindly allowed us to wash our clothing using their washing machine. The provided breakfast was also delicious and filling. It was truly a comfortable and safe place to stay.

Do not expect any luxury and glamour, but expect great hospitality and very nice, domestic neighborhood. Turkish people are very friendly, so even if the area is full of small, narrow streets, you couldn't feel any animosity. We have been in Istanbul for many times, but this is first time we felt relaxed. In many Istanbul areas sellers and owners bothers you to visit them, asking you to sit at their restaurants or trying to sell you something, we were kind of tired rejecting it. In this great, domestic area, everybody mind their business, so we enjoyed it. Not overcrowded with tourists, but close enough to all sightseeing's. We came at midnight due to airplane delay, but Mr. Vural waited for us, and even borrow us a Turkish money for tasty quick dinner in the vicinity! We are in Istanbul for medical treatments, and our room was booked at third flor without elevator, but tomorrow we got room at first floor after we asked for something lower. Mr. Vural and Mrs. Elaheh speaks very good English, so each question we had they solved asap. Hotel is old, but for this price, you could not find better options in the Istanbul center. Sea is far 1 minutes from hotel, (with wonderful walking area) and expect some loud Seagulls in the morning. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We will be back again, cause we found best bye option to be in Istanbul. (At earlier visits we use to pay double price for almost same room and not even close hospitality and relaxing atmosphere). Thank you Mr. Vural and Mrs. Elaheh!

I travelled with my sister and my partner, and although we had an unpleasant experience with the taxi driver who left us at our accommodation, the hotel staff quickly realised what was happening and went outside to help us! It's been a month since our trip, but I still miss their great breakfasts, the tea before bed and the chats about their lovely pets. Every detail added up to make our stay in Istanbul truly special! Also, their food recommendations around the neighbourhood were some of the best we had in the city!
