If you are looking for a place to stay that offers a clean, welcoming, friendly, helpful, and quiet area, yet so close to the main areas of Sultanhamet then this has to be it! Additional features: A lift to all (3) floors. They offer one room with balcony (if you like that idea). A very substantial breakfast selection, buffet style, to set you up for the day, along with the amazing Sonja who prepares daily ‘treats’ of homemade foods for you to try. She is an amazing lady who also goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and cared for! The walk to Sultanahmet area, Blue Mosque etc is less than 500 meters away. An easy walk, mostly flat with a slight incline (my able bodied 89 year old mother did it with ease). The tram stop just a couple of minutes further. I did a lot of research to find just the right place to accomodate myself and my soon to be 90 year old mother. My aim was for it to be accessible and memorable in the best way possible - friendly, welcoming, lift to all floors, comfortable, quiet, yet close to the main areas in Sultanahmet. It was everything I required and so, so much more!! And a huge thanks to the manager for arranging a gift for my mother to celebrate her being ‘the youngest guest’ (his words 😂😍) they had ever had stay. Thank you for everything you all did.

Nothing.

The hotel is very well located. Just 6 minutes walking to the blue mosque. The guys at the reception are very helpful as well as Sonya who was in charge of the breakfast. Very nice lady! She was unbelievably helpful, giving us many things to try: pastries, salads, sweets... Just perfect!

The Bosporus cruise dinner that they recommended is a tourist trap. Very bad food, very very bad quality, and also super expensive (45 Euro per person). The salmon fish was a complete joke. Avoid a headache and instead take the public ferry to Kadiköy (just 30 lira per ticket) . A very nice romantic evening got spoiled by this very bad experience. (Check the pictures) The generator / ventilation engine was a bit loud during nighttime. We stayed in room 203 and sometimes the noise was too loud! We woke up once in the middle of the night! it goes on and off constantly.

All the members of staff were very helpful at all times. Even before we arrived in Turkey, they organised our transfer from the airport very kindly and professionally. Mahmut, Muhammed and Rashid were very welcoming, polite and friendly. They also provided us with very useful and really interesting information about Istanbul and the Turkish culture. Moreover, breakfast was amazing every day. We want to thank Sonja for cooking the most wonderful food. She is such a lovely, kind and professional cook. She expertly and very quickly uses an app to communicate with the guests in any language. We also have to highlight the fact that she was very understanding and thoughtful with any medical dietary requirements guests may have. As I am celiac, she informed me about all the ingredients, and she made sure there were lots of gluten-free options. She even had gluten-free bread for me, which I really appreciated. She made us feel like at home, and every morning, we left the breakfast room with a smile! The bedroom was very clean, spacious, and quiet. The location was ideal. At the reception, they also lent us a public transport card, which we found very helpful to take the ferry. We (Roz from England and Maria from Spain) would highly recommend this extraordinary hotel.

We loved everything and as I have explained, the staff members go above and beyond to help guests and make their stay in Istanbul truly special.

This is a small hotel right in the heart of Sulthanamet. It is in an old building but has been nicely renovated. It has a lift to the upper floors and vehicle access to the front door (THis is real bonus, in the older parts of Istanbul, last time we visited the taxi was unable to drop us at the door, so we had to manage our luggagealong uneven footpaths a fair way to the hotel!) The staff were all delightful and extremely helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and comfy. Good shower pressure. Breakfast was a delightful spread of a wide variety of hot and cold food, overseen by the lovely Sonia, who would make you anything you fancied.

Not much desk space for a computer, but other than that the room was very comfy.

I traveled with a friend, and we were both absolutely happy with the hotel's location and overall condition—it exceeded our expectations! Everything was exceptionally comfortable, and we truly enjoyed our stay. A huge appreciation to the incredible staff, who took outstanding care of us and made us feel genuinely welcome. Without us even asking, they generously upgraded our double room to a suite, arranged airport pickup and drop-off, recommended great local restaurants, a Bosphorus cruise, and a traditional hammam experience, and efficiently handled all the logistics. Also the breakfast was delicious, offering a diverse selection of local dishes. A special mention goes to the Russian chef, who delighted us daily with new flavors to try. A particularly convenient perk: the reception also sells local SIM cards at very reasonable prices.

Nothing, was all very good really. If I travel again to Istanbul, I'll stay here again

Exceptional Service Beyond Expectations! Our stay at Sultans Royal Hotel was truly unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional staff and outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the team bent over backwards to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. One standout moment was when my mom had a minor accident outside the hotel. The staff immediately stepped in, going above and beyond to help her recover. They provided ice for her injuries, offered room service to make her comfortable, and constantly checked on her well-being throughout our stay. Additionally, the hotel even provided us with a metro card, which was incredibly convenient and thoughtful. The attention to detail and genuine care from everyone we encountered made this trip so much easier and more enjoyable. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed, the breakfast was amazing (Thank you Salima), but it was the people who truly made this place special. We can't thank Sultans Royal Hotel enough for their kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and a memorable stay!

A lovely hotel with wonderful, helpful staff. We asked for a couple of things soon after arrival and they were provided quickly. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, and an excellent shower. Each room has good wifi, a safe, and a universal plug outlet so you don't have to worry about bringing converter plugs. If you are expecting a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. If you like something a bit more quirky, this is perfect. The location is fantastic, a ten-minute walk to some of the main attractions (Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sofiya, etc.). The immediate area is very peaceful and a lovely little enclave away from the noise of tourists. Breakfast is varied and delicious and provided by the lovely Soniya, who is from Kazakhstan. This influences the food and it makes a great change from the usual breakfast (also available). Soniya is very friendly and hospitable and makes sure that you taste all the food! We loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again if we are lucky enough to return to the beautiful city of Istanbul.

No negatives.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sultans Royal Hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The transfer from the airport to the hotel and back was organized by the hotel. The location is ideal for visiting Istanbul; very central and close to the main attractions. With a public transport card, you can also take the tram nearby. Very easy. Breakfast was excellent, and Sonia did her utmost best to make you feel at home. She communicated with us via an app on her phone, which was funny. We can highly recommend this hotel!

Everything in this cozy hotel was perfect! We received an upgrade to a bigger room, which was very comfortable. Location of the hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque and to Hagia Sofia and 5 minutes from the T1 tram. The staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast was the highlight of this establishment and special thanks to the amazing Salima for that. Also thanks to Mahmoud for all the help. I highly recommend this place!

We had our original booking with another accommodation cancelled the day before arriving in Istanbul, and we were lucky enough to get a room here the day before we arrived at a last minute, discounted price. Reception made sure we could park our car outside the hotel overnight until we could get it back to the rental the next day. Housekeeping were excellent, and they provided daily housekeeping. The breakfast is amazing! Turkish cuisine at its best! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Fantastic area to walk to many of the historic sites. Good aircon!

Nothing.
