1- Kerim, the host, was brilliant! He was so helpful, speaks english and would ask everyday what we would like to do and then give us tips on the best way to reach that place. He even gave us his train pass one day so that we could use it and not have to buy one! All my high ratings on the hotel are for Kerim. As a tourist in a foreign land, all you need is a helpful host, so thanks Kerim! 2- Very close to Istiklal street and Galata area- walking distance. 3- The best cafes and food, Galata tower and restaurants and shops just outside the hotel- such a treat. 4- A lovely walk away from Galata bridge that leads you to the Sultanahmet area (Hagia Sofia mosque, Blue Mosque etc)

1- This area/ getting to it (Beyoglu area) is very very steep and uphill. It was quite a struggle to get back to the hotel after miles and miles of sight seeing. 2- You cant reach the hotel by taxi. The last mile or two has to be walked and in cobbled streets, its quite tough to walk with your suitcases.

Absolutely fantastic stay! From the moment I stepped foot in the hotel I felt special. The service is simply extraordinary - every member of staff, from reception to restaurant staff, was not only professional but also genuinely friendly and helpful, which made me feel really looked after. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and decorated with incredible taste. The cleanliness was top notch and the beds were so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning! The breakfasts were a real treat - a wide selection of fresh and local produce, all beautifully presented. The location of the hotel is another advantage - an ideal base for sightseeing, yet quiet enough to provide perfect relaxation. I recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience and the utmost comfort. I will definitely come back here!

There wasn't much I did not like!! The location is awesome. The staff was extraordinary, above the normal. They helped make arrangements, and offered advice on many things. The Prelude only has 16 rooms, so it's a true "boutique" operation. They definitely would prefer to have "quality" guests over quantity. The room was spotless upon arrival, and they offered as much (or as little) housekeeping as you like. (Also an in-room safe.) The area has plenty of restaurants, shopping, people watching and taxis... what else do you need?? Highly recommended!

This was not a problem for me, but Prelude does not offer free breakfast. However, there are so many places in the area, why not try a variety of options? (The rooms have coffee/tea service if you like, or tea is always available in the lobby.) Also, the rooms in front can be louder at night because of all the area restaurants and clubs, but just ask for room on the back side and it's no problem.

Hotel is right in center of Taksim for anyone who wants to stay in this area i recommend this hotel 100%. The staff are absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. Special thanks to Mr. Ali and Mr. Kerim from the reception they both were very helpful and told us alot of useful information about the area and the city. They also helped us get a taxi to the airport and made sure that our stay at the hotel was exceptional and very comfortable. They even told us about good places to eat other than the commercial ones and where to go and what do to as it was our first time in Istanbul. They even helped us carry our heavy bags all the time. Super friendly and I would definitely stay in this hotel again because of them. Nothing in the room was missing and it was more than perfect. 10/10

Nothing we loved everything about the hotel.

Very comfortable room, located not far from Taksim square with many nearby restaurants and shops. Room faced quiet alley so there was not a lot of noise. Very courteous and helpful staff who helped out with every problem and arranged a taxi to the airport.

No breakfast. There are many nearby restaurants, so this was not a big problem. Air conditioning could not be controlled from inside the room (needed to ask the staff to turn it on and off and to change temperature and fan level).

The staff was very friendly. They go the extra mile to help you. And always with a smile. Location is great as well.

Before I checked in at hotel, I had been worrying about the noise there might be. However this proved to be no problem for me at all. I slept very well in this hotel. The hotel staff Kerim and Ali are exceptionally friendly, considerate and helpful. I booked for three nights in this hotel. Kerim helped to upgrade my first night's Economy Double Room to a King Suite with Fireplace for free. He was so kind and considerate, not wanting me to have the trouble of changing my room after the first night. Kerim and Ali also helped to recommend some good food to eat and places to visit, which proved really satisfying. Ali, who worked in the daytime when I stayed, gave me an Istanbul card, so I did not need to buy one myself. I just put money in and could have access to every public transportation means. Ali is also good at writing instructions in English and drawing maps. His instructions and maps helped me easily find the places to visit and are really good memories for me. I enjoyed my stay in Istanbul very much largely because of this hotel I luckily chose to stay and its lovely and helpful staff Kerim and Ali. I would definitely highly recommend this hotel to every one.
