good size for 3 people with wonderful view - we paid for river view

At check in, staff told us Booking.com messed up our reservation and they did not have us arriving that day but week after. Staff told us to wait. They finally sorted it out after a 20 minute wait, Still this SHOULD NOT have happened. Either the hotel or Booking.com is at fault, we do not know. Although we were happy with room size, view, location and facilities of hotel, we were not pleased that on the third day we came back to our room which was not made up - beds were still in a mess etc. When we told the staff they just commented they were short staffed and offered a USD10 credit but didn't even bother to offer to make the room up. We felt the staff were not friendly at all even from the first day when we had issues with the booking.

Rooms were very spacious and comfortable, good views from the room, elevators were very fast and efficient, location is very convenient for most downtown and the hotel can be reached easily on public transport from the airport (15-20 minutes walk from the blue line station.) The room had a good working space and a comfortable chair to relax in. Everything was clean and comfortable.

There's an additional charge that they put on the room which gives 'free' wifi as well as access to some services and credit for the bar. However, I didn't use any of these services so it wasn't good value for me. They didn't explain at Check In whether this was voluntary or not. This should have been made clearer.

We booked a river view room and when we got there they only had lake rooms available but I told the front desk person that my daughter hadn't been to the city since she was too little to remember so she offered us a lake and river view room if we didn't mind being by the elevators - it was a beautiful view. Also the young man who ran the breakfast bar was very nice.

Front desk was dismissive and said they couldn't help when I asked for change - which I needed to tip the valet. Rain shower head was way too big for the tiny shower which made it difficult to maneuver. Lobby was very perfumy.

Clean and comfortable room, excellent location, reasonable value for accommodations. Clever elevator control to maximize speed and efficiency -- enter floor number outside when calling the elevator instead of inside. Great views.

Poor shower design -- cannot set temp without getting oneself or the bathroom floor wet. Outrageous cost of parking (valet or self) -- we used self-park next door (345 E. Wacker) for less than half the price. Outrageous cost of breakfast (did not use). Bar closes at midnight (unheard of in our experience in a major hotel in a prime location in a major city).

This place is exceptional, very welcoming upon arrival. As soon as we stepped out of our vehicle, we were greeted by Valet. These men were professional, very helpful, and kind. Upon check in, the gentleman that took care of our check in was extremely polite, educated, and kind. The gentleman that helped us with our bags was amazing. He was so kind, funny, and helpful. The hotel was inviting and clean. Everything was top of the line. Any staff member we encountered went above and beyond for us. We will be back next year. Exceptional stay with an exceptional staff.

Excellent location, very close & walkable to all tourist areas. Lovely view from the room and excellent staff. Was particularly happy with the way Sr. Manager at the front desk (Simona) helped us with check-in process.

Nothing . . . everything was perfect. It made our stay really special. First time in Chicago for my family and they loved the city mainly due to the central location of Swissotel

The location was great with a beautiful view of the lake and Navy Pier. The room was so spacious and clean.

They charged us 20$ each day for "Urban Experience" which didn't make sense. We were told that it was for Internet and amenity that we were not even told when we checked in. Most of the time the Internet is included to the reservation.

I booked a room because the hotel next door (Hyatt, where I had a week stay already booked) refused to allow me to check in one day earlier - a real negative score against Hyatt. Swissotel booked me in with no problem and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind in getting all in order for the last-minute booking. I really appreciated the personnel especially in light of having arrived in Chicago after a long cross-Atlantic flight.

Nothing - everything was excellent, especially the view out of the room of the river.

I love the location. I love that it was close to numerous restaurants and close to so many sightseeing opportunities.

I didn't like the fact that there were no microwaves to use at all in the facility. There are tons of restaurants in the area and each room has a refrigerator for use but no microwaves. We had tons of leftover food and no way to heat it up. This will prevent me from ever staying there again. I wasted so much food.

The staff were amazing, everyone was helpful and smiling; they couldn’t do enough for you! The facilities in the room were good too just wish you would shout more about the things you do to be more sustainable- like the fact you get discount for reusing towels etc. such a great incentive but we only saw the sign on our last day completely by accident. The reception area is very contemporary and the bar area is lovely!

The rooms were slightly outdated, the beds slightly small. But the room was a very good size for the three of us and the views were amazing!!!
