The view at the restaurant was amazing! The staff was super friendly. We had no problems during our stay.

One of the elevators was out of order, so we had to wait or get into an over crowded elevator to get to our room. The food at the hotel was ok, nothing amazing.

I've never felt so welcome in a hotel as I have here. All the staff here are just wonderfully helpful and dedicated to their roles. They take every request seriously and follow through. It feels more like staying with a family, honestly. Jamie and the rest of the front desk team were just awesome. I had a package delivered to the hotel and they were super cool about it. Moving rooms was also no problem. The free shuttle service was an absolute lifesaver - dependable, on time, and quick. The drivers we had (Lamont, Nate, Ms Tara, Ms Jeanette) were amazing. They know the city well and gave us so many tips. They don't just work in Charleston, they LIVE here, so they really know what it's really like and provide a valuable perspective. I wouldn't recommend walking to downtown from the hotel as you'd need to cross a highway and along a thin sidewalk. You can definitely walk west past the Waffle House to the other stores and restaurants though. Our booking included free breakfast so we were in the restaurant every day. Vegans: you can have the vegetable wrap without the cheese and it's delicious. The staff here - Alvaro, Joe, Mario, and JoJo - are heroes. Greeting us every day and knowing our special dietary accommodations without even asking. The team here went out of their way to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Please say hi to them, ask them how they are. This is how to get the best out of visiting a place. Remote workers: the lobby has power points and plenty of seating. Free coffee in the morning! The building and decor is old, but is clean and it works. It doesn't detract from the experience. Don't let this deter you from coming here! Thank you, Holiday Inn team! You really made our trip even more special.

I didn't like leaving! The restaurant could add "vegan option available" to the vegetable wrap to help other travellers.

The regular shuttle service to downtown Charleston made it easy to access that area without having to deal with driving and parking in the chaos.

The exterior did look a bit run down as you first pulled up, though thankfully the interior spaces had been recently updated and were in good condition, especially in contrast with the first impression.

The location was good nice scenery looking at the harbor and the downtown City area. The bed was very comfortable.

I thought the rooms were a little bit small. I think for the price we paid it would be nice to got continental breakfast or something.

I had a very nice and large room with a great view of the salt marshes surrounding Charleston. The room was clean and the bed was confortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle going from the hotel into the Historic District - great service! I used the shuttle several times and found it very convenient in stead of driving into Charleston and looking for parking. The restaurant at the top floor has a great view - and good food. I would definitely stay again.

Someone at the reception had mixed up my booking, but this was quickly sorted by other reception staff, so everything turned out okay.

The location was fabulous; my room was a 'city view' which ordinarily would not be great but here it is a view across the river and marina to the city on the next peninsula - fabulous view. The room was large, with both an area to sit, a desk to work at and a very comfortable large bed. The lovely server named Jo in the restaurant was pure sunshine and very helpful. She remembered everyone's name and made you feel very special. The other servers were also lovely and helpful. The restaurant had good, well-cooked fare and while not an extensive menu it was certainly ample to consider and was well-presented and cooked. While I did not need it, the availability of a shuttle into town was great.

The AC in the room was very noisy as it came on and stayed on. The bathroom set up was odd, with a door closing the basin area off from the bath/shower and toilet that all shared a smallish space. My shower was cold 2 days out of 3. The water pressure was appalling; I have very thick curly hair and it took a really long time to get it all wet when i needed to wash it and forever to rinse out the shampoo. Only one elevator worked making for very long waits at times.

The shuttle to downtown historic district was great. Combined with free parking it was perfect.

The pool was very dirty/cloudy and was not clear so we didn’t want to swim in it. Disappointing because the weather was so hot. We waited 45 minutes for a luggage cart and never got one. The desk clerk kept saying there were 5 of them around but we never saw any until the next day. Then we only saw 3 at one time in the lobby. We had to haul all of our stuff up by hand.

I enjoyed the restaurant bar area for a delicious dinner and drinks before my family arrived.

My family arrived late and I had already checked them in so they wouldn't have to worry with that, the clerk said she would pass it on to the night clerk but I guess they got missed. When my family arrived they were told they were at wrong hotel and sent them to the Holiday Inn Express once they got turned down there they returned and by that time I had been awoken and went down to make sure they got the room assigned for them.

This Holiday Inn is full service, very clean and comfortable (especially the beds). The location is unique (nestled between the northbound and southbound lanes of US 17 on the south bank of the Ashley River) with fantastic views from the rooftop restaurant (and potentially your room).

Be prepared to wait for one of the two elevators in this 14 floor tower and (if you care about such things) the Fitness Center is meager. You also won't walk anywhere from this location.

As advertised, very good breakfast. Lovely view of the city. We took advantage of the free hourly shuttle into the city and back. Sure beats parking and dealing with traffic!! Be sure to tip the friendly punctual driver.

Hotel facilities we're a bit worn and showed their age. Being right between two highways, the traffic noise was almost constant, even through the windows.
