Room was excellent - clean, well-enough-equipped, comfortable bed (pillows were excellent), more than adequate bathroom. A good night's sleep. Breakfast was fine - decent range, reasonable quality - all that you can hope for from an overnight hotel. Staff were fine.

The car parking overnight was 50% discounted at 12.50 pounds. You have to factor that in to the cost of the room. Dinner was poor. There is a reasonable snack/smallish meal range, but, for example, the burger at 16.50 pounds, was pretty well uneatable. The 'meat' patty was dry, tough, probably frozen, and really difficult to eat. The promised bacon was not included. The soup was OK.

Great staff, nice included breakfast, comfy and clean rooms. Good amount of amenities. Vending machines, hot drink machine and bar drinks are also 24hrs access which was nice. There was also a small pub restaurant next door that was lovely, literally right next door.

The parking costing around £20 a day! That's with a discount that you get upon checking in. If you don't check in first and get the discount, it's about £30 a day. (This isn't the hotel's fault technically, as another service owns the car park.) However, for one of the most expensive holiday inns I've ever stayed in, that's quite the price. Also, if you are staying for the NEC please be aware it isn't really a walkable distance as all around it is a huge set of roads and motorways. So you will either have to drive and pay for parking at the NEC or take a taxi and pay £5 per trip.

We just wanted a room to crash in after a long flight from Australia - and that's what we had bargained for when we booked. We got an excellent room, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Slept well. Breakfast was unpretentious but very good. All the staff we met were good. Excellent value for money.

For goodness sake, what is the matter with the marketing people? We booked to stay at the Holiday Inn at NEC near Birmingham Airport. Having travelled for 27 hours to get there, and spent an hour getting the hire car sorted, we were more than ready to crash at our hotel. Nine minutes ride was promised by the GPS. We got there and found we had no booking! My fault. We were actually booked at the Holiday Inn Express at NEC - an entirely different organisation, building and location. "Am I the only one?" I asked the reception person. Apparently it has happened before. Who would have thought? So why on earth don't the two organisations dream up separate names? And beware, there are many Holiday Inns in Birmingham.

Room was bigger than we expected and the heating worked very well. Beds were big and the bathroom had some good amount of toiletries (all dove!). Staff were very nice and understanding and made the check in smooth. The restaurant had a lovely view of some squirrels running around. We liked that we had a hot breakfast included and that the bar staff was really helpful to us in the evening. Overall it was OK.

Unfortunately, the first thing I noticed when entering the hotel was someone smoking right by the entrance next to a sign saying 'no smoking' - it wasn't a nice first impression to be greeted by the smoke. Breakfast lacked any cheese or ham and only had eggs scrambled. Tea wise there was only peppermint, no fruit or other herbal options if you didn't like black tea. Hotel booked us a taxi that was estimated at 10-12 pounds, but the taxi driver asked for 16 pounds even though the hotel was considered close to the airport and it was rather disappointing. There was no toilet brush.

The location was perfect for the airport with only a 10 minute drive, when I arrived to check in the reception staff were very helpful and we only had a few minutes to wait for our room. The room itself was small but adequate for our 1 night stay. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and was very good with plenty of choice. For anyone visiting the NEC or travelling to the airport I would highly recommend it.There is also a very nice country style pub next door with Good food and good ale, so another plus to stay at this hotel.

Honestly nothing to dislike, ok 1 thing the bacon was slightly overcooked ha ha.

I liked everything about this hotel, super comfy beds, quiet rooms, super clean, fluffy towels, shower gel and shampoo provided. The reception is a lovely place to relax, the bar too. I was blown away with the quality and choice at breakfast. You could eat as much as you wished. Tables were being cleaned as soon as vacated. Every member of staff were friendly, helpful and smiley. To top it all, there is a lovely oldie world pub right next door. I will 100% stay there next time I'm in Birmingham 😊....and no I don't work for the hotel group lol

Nothing. Everything was great.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and fresh with the only negative being the shower was very low water pressure. Oddly exactly the same as the hotel (same chain) we stayed in Stoke on Trent the night before. (perhaps it's the choice of pump? Or company that installed the shower systems didn't install the correct ones for the amount of rooms? The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. There is a lovely pub next door to the hotel that offers a good selection of drinks and food. Not a Harvester or chain!

It took a while to check in becuase the young lady couldn't find our booking. In the end, another colleague assisted us and found it straight away. Perhaps some further training required? The shower pressure was awful and the breakfast was cold. All the containers, beans, bacon, sausages and hash browns were all cold. I did let the receptionist know and they attended to it straight away but I assumed there would be a manager to cover the floor and check this? It didn't stop us from eating it though. A shame as everything else was very good.

We believe that the customer services here really stand out and possibly the best we've experienced. At 3am our air conditioning unit developed a fault this was reported to reception and within 5 minutes the lady was at our room. An alternative room was offered but we loved the bed in the original room. The following morning we went to hand the key back to the room we chose not to move too and the lady (possibly manager) was so apologetic and looked at alternatives. Every member of staff went over and beyond and made our stay extremely enjoyable. The breakfast is continental however, a full English is there available for you to enjoy too. Fantastic stay and will definitely return. Massive well done to each and every member of staff you are all outstanding.

Simple and Good variety of breakfast for everyone. like the croissants, hash browns and scrambled eggs and muffins. Standard amentities , Rooms average size. Bathroom clean, towels well kept. toiletries present. Staff were welcoming.

We took a double family room for 3 of us, Spring mattress in the sofa bed was uncomfortable mattress We have stayed at other Hotels with softer mattress / beds and duvets. Vegetarian sausages were a bit chewy and hard for my daughter. So she couldnt eat that.

Loved the location for going to NEC Lovely friendly staff,who were very helpful. Nice room with a very comfortable bed. Food was delicious

It was very hot in communal areas and in the room. Couldn't work out how to turn down the heat in our room. Breakfast was very busy as warned. The staff did an amazing job, looking after everyone,but struggled to keep up with so few of them on duty. They were constantly running out of crockery and cutlery. A couple more on busy pre Christmas weekends would be better for both staff and residents .
