We were provided with instant oats and cake for breakfast. We weren't expecting any breakfast so this was a pleasant surprise. Position of hotel excellent. Right next to the church in the centre of the town. Walking distance to the station and bus stops. Room very clean. Shower pressure and hot water temperature excellent.

We didn't realise we were in the very top room, in the ceiling cavity. Fortunately, we are both reasonably short so didn't hit our heads on the low beams. No lift so had to climb 2 sets of very steep stairs to get to our room. Would have been impossible to access our room if we were not so fit.

Lovely, quaint hotel with beautiful decor. Bed was really comfortable. Whilst the hotel didn't offer evening food, there were plenty of eating options close by. The wine selection at the hotel was varied with a price to suit all pockets.

Car parking was difficult, as there is a limited time for parking close to the hotel. There are some pay and display carparks in not too far walking distance but awkward with luggage.

A lovely, quaint hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Beccles. The room was large, quirky, comfortable and clean and we liked having a balcony! Breakfast is not provided, but helpful recommendations were provided and we were very happy with the breakfast we found at Relish, a cafe in the nextdoor alleyway. The proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful, going out of his way to accommodate our bikes safely.

Enjoyed a lovely stay at The Swan, attend a concert in Beccles town center, ideally situated in town center, surrounded by jobs. Comfortable bedroom, I was up in loft. Nice food... Very homely and comfy sitting on sofas..in main pub, Would love to attend pub when the log fire is on.. Lovely staff very welcoming.. Clean and had a fridge which was brilliant, more hotels need mini fridges. Lovely old building and seating outside.

Nothing I didn't like.

All the rooms are beautifully done and delightfully quirky. This is an old building which has been carefully and tastefully restored. We had bikes for which good storage was provided and a plug we could use to recharge the bikes' batteries. Our luggage was to be collected and the owner arranged for that to happen despite the place being closed in the morning.

The location was great, the room was nice and had good wardrobe space, was well equipped and spotlessly clean.

The only fault we had (and it was minor) was that the lovely little balcony outside which we used as it was a warm evening, could have done with a bit of a clean but this would definitely not stop us from staying again or recommending it to others.

We absolutely loved our stay. The room was gorgeously decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The bath was big and had instant hot water which was lovely when cold outside. The bar downstairs was so cosy with a fire by the sofas and we couldn't hear any noise at all from our room. Gordon was so lovely and welcoming, we got settled in very easily. The location is as great as it great, central Beccles with plenty of great food options within walking distance. We would happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Really lovely place! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful, clean, and the attention to detail was impressive. Great shower, great bath, comfy bed. Everything was great!

There is only one thing: we could hear the people in the room above walking around, i don't know if there is anything to do with how the floor was built or if the guests were just really heavy footed. Apart from that our experience was perfect.

Beautiful historic inn, lots of period features. We stayed in the Eln room which was amazing! We opened the door and just thought “wow!” Great central location to explore Beccles town centre. Every little detail thought of in the room, very comfortable bed. Huge bathroom. Little extras like pots of porridge. Absolutely loved it! Definitely recommend. Staff were so friendly and helpful too. A perfect stay & we will definitely be back!

Absolutely nothing!

Excellent venue. The attention to detail accentuates the old world charm whilst providing excellent modern facilities. The hotel's age, history and olde world decor (beams, exposed brickwork, inglenook fireplaces etc) are such a superb change to modern hotels . The photos on website do not do it justice. The location is in the middle of the charming market town with numerous excellent upmarket cafes, restaurants and bijou shops etc. There are plenty of walks and historic buildings and monuments etc within walking distance. Old England at its best.

I thought the lack of breakfast provision would be a disadvantage; but, as there are so many good eateries within 100 yards, it proved advantageous as one could sample the extensive choice of venues and food available.
