Stay here was wonderful - family members had stayed before so we were slightly disappointed that the hotel no longer had a pool but we knew this when booking. We were made aware prior to our stay that major renovations were happening at the hotel - this didn't bother us, everyone we came into contact with (builders, plumbers etc) were all professional and courteous. All the staff were wonderful, attentive and went above and beyond anytime we spoken to them or enquired. Lovely whatsapp service prior to our visit - helped me arrange beautiful flowers for my parents and gave great recommendations on things to do in the area during our stay. The rooms were just beautiful - Room 5 was perfect for me (no TV) which I loved and just a beautiful space with the perfect reading nook. Room 6 was NEXT LEVEL - the bath was phenomenal and if you're having a special stay I'd request that room in a heartbeat. (Although 5 was still my favourite) The hotels collaboration with the local bookshop was inspired, and for a literature fan it was lovely to be able to purchase books, with bespoke recommendations from the bookshop and the hotel all without having to leave the property.
Bring back the pool ha!

I had a fantastic stay at Charingworth Manor. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. Their hospitality truly made my stay special. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly cosy, ensuring a great night's sleep. Breakfast and dinner were both exceptional! The variety of options at breakfast was impressive, with fresh fruits, pastries, and hot dishes cooked to perfection. Dinner was equally delightful, with a well-curated menu offering delicious flavours and excellent presentation. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations.

Beautiful setting and grounds, nice buffet breakfast with hot meal a la carte options, very friendly and helpful restaurant staff.R
Room was smaller than expected, and the "garden" view was of a car park ! Misleading advertising ! While we appreciate this is a very old building and the floors and walls are not perfect (which does add to the charm), however the bed was on an angle and not at all comfortable. They could have levelled up the bed with some wedges or something similar. There was a lot of construction noise at the time with extensions and renovations, which was right outside our window. Front desk staff service was variable from very helpful on arrival to indifferent during our stay. Lack of block out curtains made it impossible to sleep after 5am due to the time of the year (mid summer). Toilet didn't flush easily Limited hot water.

Beautiful elegant charming 14th century building. Lotsa thoughts put in to make this place cosy classy & so special. We had a short chat with the manor owner & can sense the effort and sincerity put into this beautiful countryside manor, so impressed with the top quality facilities, staff and food. The food is simply amazing. Some say it’s the best in Cotswold, we had 2 nights stay and took dinner on both nights. It’s the best meal we had in our 2 weeks trip & I dare to say it’s Michelin star worthy. It was my husband birthday & I’m so glad he had the most perfect stay. We would love to come back to stay again. We loved having the 2 resident cats around too. They are so adorable.
Nothing at all.

The most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at! Me and my mother stayed there for 3 nights in the beginning of october 2024 and we loved everthing about the place. Located in a beautiful area a gorgeous old manor renovated in a luxourious way with extraordinary comfort and taste. The best bed I have ever slept in. Amazing difuser. Stunning bathroom. Comfortable robs. Tasty thé and delicious cookies in the room. Great breakfast and dinner. Amazing staff!! Every single one! Stunning nature, cute sheep. Lovely to arrive to the room with calm classical music turned on upon arrival. Free parking. Practical electrical charing of car. Recommend to everyone! They also have a pool but we did not have the time to visit unfortunately. Also possible to book a massage, do this in advance to get an appointment. So cozy to dit in the common room by the fire in the evening with a cup of the.

Beautiful location and an excellent value for money. We enjoyed our large upgraded room, a full suite actually, with great views, comfortable large bed and many luxury amenities, such as good espresso machine, a Dyson hair dryer and an Ecoscent dispenser in the room. The restaurant is airy and inviting, menu features some interesting dishes.
The property is under renovation, but no disturbance during May Bank holiday, just some access difficulties. The spa with the pool that used to be a feature is now closed, however they didn't advertise it currently. The plus is that rooms are being upgraded to a high standard.

Setting was amazing with extensive lawns and a long drive from the street. Main rooms were lovely, and breakfast and dinner were served in a comfortable dining room. Breakfast included in our room rate was quite good, as was the dinner we ordered our first night. Our room was nice but a bit dark - it was in the newer section of the hotel. Next time I’d try a room in the original historic building - which would help with the construction issue below as well. Note that there is an extensive construction project underway to remove the indoor pool and expand the facility. This was happening right outside of our door, so after a quiet weekend we awoke to a dozen workers on Monday morning and actually needed an escort to and from breakfast. I would keep this in mind if you are looking for a midweek stay on the coming several weeks.

First off, the stay was very comfortable. The living rooms of the manor are so cosy and we enjoyed afternoons and evenings reading, playing marbles and games together. The bar was nearby and we could enjoy a glass of wine together. The food here is exceptional. Generous breakfast portions, really fresh food and a dinner service to match with modern dishes, well-flavoured and great wine to match. The highlight is definitely the cosy beds, beams in your rooms and a fantastic grounds where you can enjoy incredible scenic views and vistas. Advice for any travellers coming by train, get your taxis sorted via the hotel. They have a list of reputable names as travel can often me hard to come by in these remote areas.
The only pointers we would have for our stay is that perhaps the pool area could be arranged with lounging in mind. The pool area seems a little dated, and it isn't somewhere you can go and relax. It's more of a quick dip and out scenario. My partner also didn't like the fact that music wasn't consistent throughout the building. As fans of music and atmosphere, the music was often dialled down, making dinner or breakfast a bit awkwardly quiet and the speaker system throughout the manor was a little glitchy. Otherwise, a perfect stay.

Following a delightful stay over the Christmas period, my husband and I returned again for a 2 night stay. The staff welcomed us and remembered us from our previous visit. We had booked the same room, as we liked the space it offered with the additional sitting room. We thought the room had been recently redecorated and were surprised to find out that the following week it was to be redecorated again. So now we have to return to see what changes are made. The breakfast choices are amazing - I'm not vegetarian, but I had the vegetarian breakfast each day and would highly recommend.
There was no hot water in the showers in the swimming pool changing rooms (unlike in the guest accommodation where the water is very very hot).

Beautiful location. Cosy, comfortable, open fires, well designed. We loved the coffee table books and board games in the lounges and the comfortable beds and magazines in the rooms. Pool lovely. The food was particularly good. The evening meal was delicious- the spatchcock poussin was to die for 😊 Breakfast was very good - Turkish eggs very tasty and a very generous full English. Staff were very welcoming and attentive.
It’s a beautiful old building, so some signs of wear in the decoration in the bedrooms. We would have liked some loungers by the pool and for it to be a few degrees warmer.
