I was expecting a run down and smelly pub vibe where everything smells like an old booze. BUT we were sooo surprised by how clean and beautifully decorated the place is. Our room had everything we needed and our bed was super comfortable. Staff went above and beyond. We were traveling with our 8 month old baby and the staff made sure he has toys to play with while we dine. Breakfast deserves all the praise especially for the scrambled eggs as it was made of real eggs unlike many places where it is substituted with the egg powder. A small thing but means so much to us. Our experience was great and definitely worth the money. Would return back for another visit if we have a chance:)

Refurbished B&B, the room was amazing, modern, warm, with all required facilities. Same for the bathroom. All spotlessly clean. Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. This was a lovely stay, and a nice surprise as I expected a more run-down place (don't know why).

Our room was facing the rear parking and fencing, I somehow expected something more as the B&B sits right in the countryside. It also meant we could not have the window open when going to sleep as people were coming/going for the bar/restaurant until quite late. We only stayed 1 night so I did not comment, and we really had a lovely stay, thanks

Excellent stop over at the newly refurbished hampshire hog. The room and bathroom both benefited from the redecoration as everything looked new and spotlessly clean. They both had everything you would need - including fresh milk in the fridge for tea/coffee and complementary hi end shower gels, soaps etc. The bed was super comfy.ensuring a good nights sleep The dinjng area is very tastefullly laid out and the evening meal was very very good. I ate from the set menu - 2 very well presented and tasty courses for £19 👌 the breakfast was equally impressive and special mention should go to the morning receptionist 'amazing Lilly' who was super bubbly and helpful. Highly recommended

My room faced directly onto the car park which meant that I had to keep the curtains closed all the time

The rooms have been very recently refurbished to a high standard , we stayed in a premier double room and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, the room had a fridge with bottled water and milk together with a coffee pod machine etc! The walk in shower was a delight with the quality shampoos, shower gels etc! The staff are all helpful and friendly and the food in restaurant was of a good standard including breakfast with plenty of choices including fresh fruit! Plenty of onsite parking available ! One last mention however do not put the postcode of hotel into your Sat nav it just won’t pick it up correctly and sends you all round mother browns kitchen just enter the Hampshire hog!

Really surprised at the quality of the room as I was expecting a basic ‘room above a pub’, not that I mind that! The bed was super comfy, and we really appreciated the complimentary drinks snacks and toiletries. The room was large, clean and had everything we wanted. The bathroom was a little tired but clean and functional. Breakfast was lovely, although the buffet was under stocked and appeared to run out of fruit and pastries. On the whole though we had a great experience thank you. We also had buffet food for an event the previous evening which was good quality and tasty.

A little tired in places, lack of breakfast buffet, but didn’t detract from a good experience overall

Room was excellent , very spacious. King size bed was very comfy, its a tad on the high side to get on it tho.!! Dinner and was excellent , and so was the staff staff .\Breakfast wasn't that good, in my opinion everything apart from the toast was overcooked, ( eggs not runny, mashroom was very rubbery, beans stodgy etc) but yet again - staff were fantastic. Conner on reception among other duties ws amazing , nothing was any trouble for him, hes was very polite and welcoming. Will definatly be back for another stay.

Breakfast .

Great location, good room, excellent food and facilities The staff were all brilliant, very friendly and extremely accommodating when we needed anything.Good Instavolt EV chargers, reasonably priced as well.

Room was accessible so sink verk low. Bulbs were missing from room, fan missing, key cards didn't work on second night (all resolved though). The room wasn't serviced on our second night. The venue has been refurbished so these were just teething problems, we are staying again so I'm sure they will be rectified.

Fact that it was close to Portsmouth port and motorways. Lovely atmosphere in the pub, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was very clean, good size room, comfortable bed, having a bath as well as a shower and the attention to detail, welcome basket with a drink and crisps. Having a small fridge in the room, with some fresh milk and bottled water.

Only a couple of minor things, there wasn’t a plug for the bath. The cooked breakfast wasn’t as good as we’d hoped the bacon very hard and dry and the fried egg yolks were hard despite asking for runny eggs. There were quite a few people having breakfast and only 1 waitress to cover everything.

We booked a room at The Hampshire Hog as we had a function nearby. Check-in was smooth, and we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and incredibly quiet. The hospitality tray was a lovely bonus . Little things like fresh milk in the fridge and decent sized mugs for drinks made all the difference. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options. What makes the Hampshire Hog stand out is the friendliness of all the staff, from the bar staff to the housekeeping team- they are a real asset.

The shower was lovely and hot and powerful, but the bathroom was a little tired and could do with a bit of attention.

The staff were brilliant and the room very comfortable with a decent mattress. There was also a good selection of drinks on offer including ales! And the location for us was really good (walking holiday).

While the food was okay the vegetarian options were somewhat limited and we had to find somewhere else to eat to avoid replicating meals. Unfortunately our room faced the main road so we had to close the windows at night and this made the room stuffy.
