The staff were exceptional! They went above and beyond to accommodate us at short notice, after a very disappointing experience with our first choice of accommodation, which we left shortly after arrival. The Duty Manager and Receptionist deserve a big thank you. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price which made it exceptional value for money on current standards. Menu was basic but food was good quality.
The hotel is quite tired in terms of furnishings and decor and there could have been more comfortable chairs in the bedroom. The lounge/bar area could have been bigger with more armchairs so that having a drink at the bar was more comfortable, of an evening. The bar could have a larger range of drinks.

We found this an excellent place except ….. they closed the restaurant on 21 and 22 Dec! Would not this have been more profitable to open this close to Christmas!! The breakfast in the restaurant was brilliant! Even fixed a sausage for my Service Dog who got a bone shaped biscuit on arrival! This place is very dog friendly!!! The staff were welcoming and outstanding!! So why close the restaurant on a Saturday and Sunday night just before Christmas!!! They even have plenty of charging stations for electric cars!! About six!
Had to go find somewhere else to eat supper!

What isn't to like? A lovely hotel, clean, tidy and with courteous staff. Clean and quiet corridors, no other guest noise, and perfect areas for walking dogs. Great shower and bath.Good parking. Excellent on-site restaurant. Staff are lovely, and nothing was too much for them. Easy access to some fabulous beaches ( we absolutely love Roker Beach). Close to all major roads, whilst being quiet and secluded. Has close links to Tesco, Asda, McDonald's and Donwell Chippy ( magnificent fish and Chips, Pizzas, Burgers and Kebabs.
The only negative I could possibly find is the lack of plug-sockets. This time I fetch a powerbank so wasn't even a second thought

Nothing to worry about hereEconomical, clean, everything you need . Ok an upgrade would be nice, but it reflects the low Prices ! No complaints whatsoever. We ate down at the Champs sports bar , excellent a 10 min walk, decent prices, lovely food. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, 10 mins to Beamish village, had a glorious day ( March? , I know ! ) Parking car at Hotel was no problem. Just follow their advice, book it in at the hotel entrance. You get a confirmation email immediately (saying your Logged in !) It could get a bit Noisy at night. Walls are not so thick, but we had no noisy neighbours. Weekends might be different? Would be happy to stay here again. A lot of Negative reviews. Just ignore, great rates and comfort

A basic hotel that was very good value for our needs. We were using it as a base for our two day trip to discover the museum in Beamish. We opted to have breakfast each morning and found that to be excellent value. Friendly staff welcomed us throughout our stay. We did not eat here in the evening we had a meal at Toby's and brought back a really nice Chinese takeaway from a place near to The Angel Of the North.
The rooms are pretty dated, clean but basic and I'd definitely recommend an extension cable as we could only see one socket for charging any electrical equipment.

The location was nice and quiet, plenty of parking space on the site and EV charging points. Quick check in and check out, friendly members of the team. The beds were big and comfortable. Great water pressure and temperature in the bathroom. Rooms pretty spacious and have heaters.
I would love for more towels to be provided, there was only one tower per person :( also not enought tea/coffee and milk. I felt that the breakfast was a bit overpriced, you can get the same thing much cheaper at Toby Carvery next door. No fridge in the room. A bit of dust here and there.

We have stayed many times and so we know what to expect, big room with all facilities in a quiet area at a great price , it is very busy during the week with workers so the carpets in the halls can be a bit grubby and while the rooms are clean they are basic , no wall art and basic chairs . Large parking area, just make.sure to log your car registration at check-in, it is an electric charing station for Tesla so lots of traffic . Handy next to the A1 for anywhere , Toby carvery only a few hundred meters away .
Nothing for the price

This is a comfortable and very clean hotel which covers all our basic needs and it is in a very convenient and accessible location. We have stayed there before when we have appointments nearby and will stay again when we are in the area. It was well priced and provided everything we need. The beds were good and the room was nice and worm on a cold night. There is a block with the rooms and a separate adjoining restaurant and television area. The breakfasts was good with a help yourself continental and a choice of cooked food made to order by helpful and friendly staff. There was a menu of traditional English food in the evening, but we did not try this as we had eaten on the way there. There is a kettle in the room and tea, coffee and milk are provided, and we brought small jar of coffee and a pint of milk to make some extra drinks. There was ample free parking outside the hotel both times we were there and the area was quiet.

Large room with comfortable beds and two chairs. Good shower We were able to take our dog - and there’s plenty of open space and footpaths in the estate opposite to walk the dog. Good breakfast and friendly service. Plenty of parking. Very reasonable rates and very close to and accessible from the A1M. Juat minutes to the south of both Newcastle and the Tyne tunnel
Note that there's no lift, so if that's an issue for you, then ask for a ground floor room. With a third of the rooms on the ground floor, it shouldn't be an issue

The staff on reception were lovely, room was clean, bed was comfy. Cheap and cheerful, great for a short stay. I'd stay again. Easy to find, I didn't have breakfast but on arrival the gent at reception asked if I'd like to book in for a breakfast, I declined as I was leaving early but it sounded lovely.
Lack of plug sockets, the only one in the room was the one with the TV plugged in. So nowhere to charge my phone, I had my portable charger with me so didn't matter. But inconvenient. Bath VERY slippy, there was a sign advising of this and to contact reception for a bath mat if needed.
