The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the hotel offered free parking. The building itself is charming, featuring a fantastic pub that adds to its character. The bar staff were welcoming and attentive, with one person, Angela, standing out as a true superstar. She quickly noticed I was staying at the hotel, found me a seat, and even helped me choose my food. Once seated, a pint was promptly brought over by a super friendly and efficient staff member, perhaps the manager, who truly shined behind the bar. The bar area is fantastic, a genuine, traditional pub with a warm atmosphere and a positive, can-do attitude from the staff. The food was also very enjoyable, making the whole experience even more memorable. My room was big and very well equipped , iron , ironing board, tv , kettle , large bathroom with a bath and a shower and overall it was cleanish.
The room was great , however under the bed needs a hoovering / dusting (yes i am one off those people who check) compliance is my job! The window needs attention and the sofa needed a deep clean but it was serviceable (just). I will definitely be back this is a great hotel and i will be booking again!

Have the restaurant on site was great. The bed was very big. I asked for a quiet room and was located in an end room on a block of 4 at the back of the car park, which was fine the first night. On the second night the other residents on the same bock decided to have drinks on the picnic table outside of the room after 11pm. My husband had a word but they didn't move so e went to reception and they sorted it. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overhead shower option only - would prefer to have the option of a wall riser rail shower head too. Picnic table outside the rooms encourages people to sit there and be noisy.

the food was lovely, all staff were very welcoming and nothing was ever a issue, honestly had such a lovely time, loved how the rooms were detached from the building, just a little more coffee / milk / tea to be left in the room, I found the bed and pillows a bit hard but that is personal needs. the atmosphere in the place was just lovely. Had a great weekend, traveling on my own, they all made me feel so conformable and cared for. Thank you all so much.
personally for me, the bed and pillows were to hard, just would have liked more coffee / tea and milk in the rooms.

First visit to this pub with rooms. We loved the room and the location. We had our dog with us and he was made welcome too as they had a dog area in the bar/restaurant area. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. What a difference that makes when you are worn out after travelling for hours. The room was like a little chalet separate from the main pub so we could park just outside which was handy for packing and unpacking. Lovely little walk adjacent to the pub so our early morning walk with the dog was no trouble at all. Breakfast was good, the most delicious greek yoghurt and a cooked vegetarian option. They even gave us a couple of sausages for the dog! So kind. We travel to Scotland twice a year so we will definitely be back.
Nothing really. The rain shower was good but I do like the option of an additional hand shower for rinsing and that was not attached to the shower which was unusual.

Close to A1 and routes into Newcastle which was great. Checked in and was given two rooms in the courtyard 20 yards from the main building. Our room was great. Looked out over countryside. Bed nice and comfy. Clean bathroom with a great shower. Nice and quiet. Breakfast was great - plenty of options and cooked to order. Good pet friendly bar with lots of choice for drinks. Menu looked good too although we did not eat there. Just the job for our short trip to the North East. Would definitely stay there again.
Nothing really - place could do with a lick of paint here and there but that didn't detract from our overall experience.

This was my third visit. I use it when visiting family in Newcastle from down south. It’s ideal location as quiet and just off A1. At the end of the journey I don't have to get into the inevitable traffic going across the bridge. The staff are always friendly and accomodating. The restaurant which is large and made of separate rooms which are decorated differently. It was dressed fir Christmas and was pretty. The garden bedrooms are big enough and smart with field at back and carpark at the front.. For us it's an ideal stay and we love it, oh and we use Tesco vouchers for our food. Breakfasts are excellent but be warned, they can come up large. There's view of Angel of the North and loads to see and do not far away.
Being hypercritical, the veg wellington needed more gravy. Puff pastry was excellent but makes the dish a bit dry.

The rooms are located above a beautiful pub, serving excellent meals and breakfast. You can see the Angel of The North out of the window and are perfectly placed for Beamish. This was our 2nd stay so we have already experienced it and returned because we knew how good it was. Always a treat to get a lovely chocolate and biscuits in bedrooms. Places don't do this so much anymore so this makes is extra special. Good quality treats! Highly recommend a visit to see Santa on Xmas Eve during breakfast. The Xmas crafting table was a fantastic idea and the kids and us loved it!
A minor point but the bathroom was freezing, although we stayed in December so this is likely due to the windows being in keeping with the age of the building and not double glazed.

Quiet room away from the main building
Ate in the restraunt and noticed on the floor between kitchen and dining area large piece of lettuce half a slice of bread and some tissue this was never picked up despite waitress and other staff members passing everytine they went into the kitchen The shower base was thick black mold in one corner so we didn't use the shower at all.

Beautifully located in the countryside, outside rooms are cosy and private. Lots of parking and a short taxi ride from Newcastle Central station. Staff were lovely and pub excellent! Two Yale locks on room for extra security - really nice touch.
Nothing to dislike but some feedback is that I think they could have done a more thorough clean as was quite dusty and there were cobwebs - I understand this is hard when rooms are based in an outside block. Shower was tricky to get into as door didn’t fully open and toiletries could have been refilled prior to arrival (they were lovely though). None of these things ruined my stay in the slightest and I would stay here again.

The accommodation was excellent. Smart modern rooms with decent facilities. A little cramped but comfy. Restaurant and bar was extensive and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner choices excellent. However the booking in process was abysmal. They couldn't find our booking despite most of the group of 15 being booked in before us. We were given 2 sets of keys that turned out to be for rooms already occupied. A complete shambles. However once in our room everything from then on was fine.
