Breakfast was really nice, with a good selection of fresh food and drink, for all types. The staff were very nice and helpful. I especially liked having tea and coffee served at my table! The surroundings of the hotel were were well maintained, with a good decor and ambience. The location was OK for me, as I could walk to and from the train station and city centre. I also used bus stop around the corner, to visit tourist attractions conveniently. There are also some good attractions nearby hotel, which I enjoyed visiting, as well as shops and restaurants. I managed to have a friendly chat with some of the locals. I was pleased with my room, as it was smart and comfortable. There were enough towels and toiletries and tea/coffee provided.

The shower gel provided was OK, but I've seen better quality.

My wife and I bookended our bikepacking trip with stays at the argyll and we are lucky we did. The rooms were comfy and quiet, the breakfast was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Since we arrived and left twice, we were left with excess luggage which they went out of their way to stow for us. My wife even sat in the lobby for several hours, working, after we checked out one day and they made her feel at home. Special shout-out to Harry who helped us with logistics throughout our stay! Sincerely could not recommend it more.

I booked single room Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly Bathroom could do with a radiator. Location good.But for Glasgow one way road system Buses to city centre great Getting back to Hotel not so great. Arriving in Buchanan street bus station from Edinburgh .went to platform 45 for number 77 to Hotel. Not direct journey round several streets Thought I was on wrong bus .but did eventually end up at Hotel. Getting to city centre from Hotel cross the road and walk up the road to get 77 or 3 to. Centre. You can also get Glasgow Tour bus ( red route) here £ 20 ticket and you can hop on and off where ever you want and charge to Yellow route to see more Great value

No comfortable smoking shelter.Breakfast room being in basement I found chilly Signage in lift says breakfast in Sutherland restaurant Then in the breakfast room The ambiance of the hotel is trashed by very modern decor and Soul food Signage .?( vegetarian restaurant) operating later in day from this area Though it wasn't open any evening I was there.( Thursday &Friday) A Hotel bar would be good.But you can walk 2 minutes along the road to The great Western Hotel that has a bar and Restaurant

Nice hotel in a great location near Glasgow University. Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast included. Some free parking if you're lucky. Decent, comfortable room though it wasn't huge and some bits could do with a bit of TLC. But overall, a really nice stay and an excellent location.

It's a little pricey but so are all the decent hotels in Glasgow. The back of the hotel, where you park your car, is in a very scruffy alleyway. The hotel's parking area could really do with being tidied up as could the whole alleyway. There's lots of litter and that back bit is not very nice!

Arriving via train, the property was easy to find and had (limited) parking at the rear of property, although this was not clearly sign posted. The room was a good size and bedding for all 5 of us was prepared - we were pleased that they were all real beds and no fold out options :) ! Breakfast was included in the room rate selected and while was a simple fare still provided a good range to select from.

4 of the 5 mattresses were great, but one of the single mattresses was very 'tired' and in need of replacement. The lighting in the room was a little dim - perhaps a change of light bulbs to "white light" instead of "yellow" would help with this.

The location was excellent for walking to the OVO, great for popping to a shop for essential items and lots of cafes and places to eat. Amazing location for visiting the Kelvingrove art gallery and museum. Hotel itself was really good, breakfast was great - really super, attentive staff and a great selection of breakfast options. Rooms reasonably small but perfectly clean bathroom. Quiet location at night and very close to bus stops. Perfectly reasonable price to pay for the room and breakfast. Would stay again and certainly recommend it to others.

In all honesty, very little. Maybe having glasses to use in the room be helpful but sure we could have had some if we’d asked. Genuinely pleased I picked to stay here. Booked for myself and my mum, lift was a great bonus. Hotel was easy to find and we had no complaints. Thanks for a great stay.

Room was spotlessly clean, quiet and very Scottish with the red tartan curtains and cushions, which I liked. A staff member Katie ( I think?) was so helpful when my friend returned hobbling with a damaged ankle (fell into a pothole walking around the park). She produced a set of crutches on a late Sunday afternoon and brought us a bag of ice for the wounded. Thank you so much - you really saved the day!! Also the breakfast room was attended by a memorably hospitable and efficient lady from Turkey. Loved the location with good selection of quality eateries, pubs and art gallery. Thumbs Up for the Argyle!

When checking in I was greeted by a very dull and grumpy fellow who showed me to the baggage storage room.

I booked this place as I was at a concert near by, I was a little anxious after reading some bad reviews. However, I didn't encounter any issues during my stay, the staff were friendly - especially the breakfast staff, the room and bathroom were very clean and well looked after and my bed was very comfortable, breakfast was hot and fresh with a good variety, my room was the standard single room which was very small but suited me perfectly as a solo traveller! The hotel itself is in a great location very near SW3G and the university, museum and botanic gardens. The building is charmingly old, so if you are expecting a modern chain hotel style room, book elsewhere, if you are looking for a stay with character, book the Argyll and soak in the history. Lastly, it was amazing value around £52 for a nights stay and breakfast included, will most likely choose this hotel if I am visiting the west end of the city in the future and would recommend to others.

A little hidden gem! I'm so pleased with our choice for our 1st weekend break in Glasgow! I chose it because it was one of very few hotels that would accommodate a single adult with more than 2 children and it was very reasonably priced. Our family room was spacious, clean and beautifully presented. The buffet breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The hot breakfast was actually hot (rare at a hotel buffet) and the items were always topped up immediately. The staff were very friendly, helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all lovely especially Linda at breakfast. The location was perfect for our concert at the OVO Hydro and the beautiful big park across the road was a highlight for the children. 5 mins down the road was a wonderful, free museum and art gallery. Next time we visit Glasgow I will be checking this hotel for availability first.

Our room was street side and even with the windows shut and the curtains closed it felt like the windows were still open - very noisy and drafty. Not alot can be done about the beautiful sash windows, just something I noticed and it wouldn't stop me booking again. While breakfast was very good a few additions would have made it even better, especially for the children who didn't eat much. Ie. Fresh fruit, chocolate cereal, pancakes and/or pastries.

The hotel is darling and decorated in a charming manner. Each room is appointed with a kettle and basic drink supplies. The bathrooms are good and have a generous offering of towels. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay, the staff was very pleasant. The food was excellent and they had a neat machine to make specialty coffees. Definitely worth getting the rate that includes breakfast.

The biggest drawback, despite everything else being lovely was the bed. Ours was hard as a rock with hard pillows. We stayed a week and I didn’t get a single solid nights sleep because the bed caused serious back pain. It would behoove the hotel to invest in some updated mattresses and pillows.
