The hotel itself is outside covered actually by construction material, sorry I did not make a picture. Reception is 24 hours, very kind and helpful. The room: in a good condition, in the basement. Everything must be gone by stairs, also the breakfast room in the basement. I think it´s difficult for disabled people. Bathroom with shower, very good condition. Towels fresh every day. Breakfast: to order day by day if you like at the reception, was actually 8,50pounds. Good selection of teas, coffee, jams as well marmelade, fruit juice, joghurt, cheese. On request you get also fresh made warm dishes as scrambled eggs and ham. Different white breads, big toaster. Staff is kind and helpful also there. Very good connected to Glasgow city center by bus line 77, bus stop direct in front of the hotel. Best is to use the bus to Buchanan bus station and from there you get all connections, also to Edinburgh. In my opinion more easy then the train. Pubs. Pubs and restaurants of all kind in the very near footwalking distance. We was super happy to have found "The Isley Inn" just 2 blocks away. There you have a very nice pub as well until 8pm warm kitchen with different dishes and also HAGGIS. I loved it.
Surprisingly the room could not be locked. Just closed the door but not really safed. Nevertheless I had not a bad feeling because of the 24hour reception. But I would like to lock my room really with the key, not just close the door. I mean there was not a handle, to open you must have the key.

Very good selection for breakfast. Fast, courteous sevice. Asked and received a quiet room with minimal stairs. Helpful, friendly staff. Great location to eateries and bars. Hop on/off bus right outside the door.
The bathroom was functional but could use updating. That said, it was good value.

The staff was kind and helpful. Although the room was small, it was perfect for what I needed. The location was good walking distance to the OVO Hydro, and it was so close to the Kelvingrove Museum. Breakfast was excellent for a very good price. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The cost of parking on the street after 8am on a weekday is a bit too much for only 3 hours: £10! Grant it, there is a car park nearby, but I wanted convenience...so I paid the price.

I think the Sandyford is a little bit Marmite, you either love it or you don't. For us, it's perfect. Great location, staff are friendly and always happy to help, good breakfast and while the rooms aren't up to Hilton or Savoy standards, they're comfortable and clean. What more do you want? Ok, there is no elevator, but let's face it, if you travel with so much luggage that you can't deal with a few flights of stairs then maybe you're better off in one of the characterless, sterile bed farms, with hot and cold running staff that give you a snotty look if you tip anything less than a tenner for humping a bag up a few stairs... In summary, a good five night stay while visiting family in Glasgow at a decent price.
No fruit pudding at breakfast. Ok, I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something to complain about!

I stayed at the Sandyford Hotel with my wife as we were meeting a few friends from the area. Neither of us were familiar with Glasgow but the hotel seemed a reasonable distance from the city centre and, for being so near the centre, was a great price. The staff were all very friendly and even though we arrived at 11am, they moved our room and checked us in straight away (though the alternative was to leave our bags under a window near the reception which didn't seem all too safe so the early check was greatly appreciated.) The room was spacious and had all the necessities: comfortable bed, easy-to-use bathroom, hanging space, desk and kettle. As a place to sleep at night it was more than suitable and matched the price we paid for it. We didn't choose to have breakfast but that was only as we knew we'd be having breakfast out each morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay!
As previously mentioned, if you're leaving your bags before check-in at the time of our stay they were only going to keep them under a window by reception. During our stay we did see other people leave their bags there and the area is in view of reception the whole time as well as cameras but it still felt a little out in the open.

My stay at the Sandyfort Hotel in Glasgow was overall pleasant, offering a comfortable experience despite some noticeable areas for improvement. Very good location at about 30 min walk away from the city centre, bus stop right outside the hotel with frequent buses that would bring you to the centre in less than 10 minutes. My room was cozy and provided a comfortable retreat during my visit. The staff at both the reception and the breakfast room were friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. In summary, the Sandyfort Hotel offers comfortable accommodations with a friendly staff. However, some aspects of the hotel, such as ongoing maintenance works and aging elements, could be addressed to enhance the overall experience. Nonetheless, I would still consider staying here again, particularly once the renovation is complete.
Upon arrival, I noticed that the building is currently undergoing maintenance works as other reviewers highlighted, with scaffolding covering most of the hotel's exterior. Room could benefit from a refresh, as signs of wear and tear are becoming evident. Additionally, while the room didn't have scaffolding outside, I encountered difficulties tuning the TV channels, which may have been related to the ongoing maintenance works. The breakfast experience was decent but could be elevated with an improvement in the quality of the food offered.

Convenient for a few local bars and restaurants. Recently decorated I think. Plain, no nonsense good value for money basic hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff. Right on a bus route so a good place for a base if you're wanting to explore Glasgow. We only stayed a couple of nights and didn't have breakfast but other reviews have been positive. We'd happily stay here again or in their other hotel just down the road, Sandyford Lodge. A good find I reckon, with a few quirky features that add to its charm. Extensive building work being done opposite so that takes a point off but that'll be completed and it'll be back to normal. It's a 👍 from us.

I enjoyed my stay here. The location is great as it's a good area with a bus stop and small convenience store right outside, plus many eateries and shops around. I liked the 24 hour manned reception, and my room was small but had everything I needed. The bed was comfy with a good supportive mattress. I liked the breakfast room and food selection, veggie sausages would have been a great addition. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I will stay here in the future for Glasgow gigs and good value.
The facilities were clean with a very comfortable bed but the chair was worn and not very comfy, easy to replace though. I couldn't open the window to air the room which I would have liked to do.

Breakfast was great! Chose hotel as close to arena for concert. Excellent location. Great Indian restaurant over the road, Mother India.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

I had to book unexpectedly, as my previous booking st a different place fell through. But when I arrived, the lady at the desk dissuaded all my anxieties about not having I.D, explained the process of checking in and walked me through the steps needed. Very polite, very friendly and exceptionally helpful!
The only downside I found was the location, and thats hardly anyone's fault but mine. Since I was only staying in Glasgow for a gig in the barrowlands, it just meant I had a long walk - but I love glasgow, I love walking, I saw a part of the city I would never have noticed if I hadn't done that, and besides all that - it's my fault for not checking a map before booking my stay!
