The hotel itself is outside covered actually by construction material, sorry I did not make a picture. Reception is 24 hours, very kind and helpful. The room: in a good condition, in the basement. Everything must be gone by stairs, also the breakfast room in the basement. I think it´s difficult for disabled people. Bathroom with shower, very good condition. Towels fresh every day. Breakfast: to order day by day if you like at the reception, was actually 8,50pounds. Good selection of teas, coffee, jams as well marmelade, fruit juice, joghurt, cheese. On request you get also fresh made warm dishes as scrambled eggs and ham. Different white breads, big toaster. Staff is kind and helpful also there. Very good connected to Glasgow city center by bus line 77, bus stop direct in front of the hotel. Best is to use the bus to Buchanan bus station and from there you get all connections, also to Edinburgh. In my opinion more easy then the train. Pubs. Pubs and restaurants of all kind in the very near footwalking distance. We was super happy to have found "The Isley Inn" just 2 blocks away. There you have a very nice pub as well until 8pm warm kitchen with different dishes and also HAGGIS. I loved it.

Surprisingly the room could not be locked. Just closed the door but not really safed. Nevertheless I had not a bad feeling because of the 24hour reception. But I would like to lock my room really with the key, not just close the door. I mean there was not a handle, to open you must have the key.

Very good selection for breakfast. Fast, courteous sevice. Asked and received a quiet room with minimal stairs. Helpful, friendly staff. Great location to eateries and bars. Hop on/off bus right outside the door.

The bathroom was functional but could use updating. That said, it was good value.

Great place to stay in Glasgow, at walking distante to the University of Glasgow (12-15 min through the beautiful Kelvingrove Park). I'd say it's located in a very nice, not too busy area. The staff were very nice and helpful. They did put me on floor 1 when I requested it and the room and bed were comfortable in relation to the price and location. Lots of place to eat and convenience stores to buy stuff in the area. The breakfast for 10 pounds was very reasonable and fulfilling.

The last couple of days were quite hot in Glasgow and there were no fans in the room, which I would suggest they provide in summer. Also, the curtains were not thick black-out style, so I kept waking up almost the whole week at 4am, at sunrise, even if the sun didn't hit directly the room. I could only adjust the last couple of nights, when I was about to leave. Still no lift, so until they get it, request a room on lower floors. No proper desk to seat and work, at least in my room (the table available was too high to sit and get work done).

I liked everything! The staff were marvellous, my room was beautiful, cleaned every day and supplied with tea and coffee. Really convenient for the Hydro. Gorgeous, really comfortable bed! I think it was a new mattress. I travel to Glasgow at this time every year for an annual convention at the hydro. I have stayed at a different hotel for 10 years, but I prefer the sandyford, and shall book my room for next year, as soon as we have the confirmed dates. Marvellous experience and a really friendly hotel to stay in. Breakfast is really great too! The staff throughout are kind , caring and very efficient. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! I'll be back!

It was all brilliant!

This was an optimal location in the Kelvingrove area with plenty of coffee shops and eateries at your doorstep. The Kelvingrove park is behind the hotel and walking distance from the museum and university. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. For me that makes all the difference especially in peak summer season when we stayed there.

The first room was nicely renovated but on the street side which we found incredibly noisy with the pub on the opposite corner. However, the staff were able to move us to a room at the back which was quiet as a church. The room had not been updated yet but a good night’s sleep was well worth it! The staff were very open to make this happen for us so thank you.

The staff was kind and helpful. Although the room was small, it was perfect for what I needed. The location was good walking distance to the OVO Hydro, and it was so close to the Kelvingrove Museum. Breakfast was excellent for a very good price. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The cost of parking on the street after 8am on a weekday is a bit too much for only 3 hours: £10! Grant it, there is a car park nearby, but I wanted convenience...so I paid the price.

Perfect location for a concert at the OVO Hydro, about a 10-15 minute walk. Also plenty of cafes/ bars/ restaurants close to the hotel. Reception staff were lovely, very friendly and always remembered our room number as we came and went (you have to leave your room key at reception when you leave the hotel and collect again on return). Room was fine, had everything we needed for the price paid.

Room was quite hot so we had to sleep with the window open and there were building works directly across the road. Not something the hotel can control though, the hotel is on a main road so have to expect some noise.

Friendly staff very helpful,breakfast was amazing as usual as have stayed here in past a few times. Asked if we wanted room serviced which was nice ,we didn't but fresh towels supplied upon request. Staff in breakfast room were all lovely and helpful breakfast is so good they have everything you could want .The foyer is lovely and comfortable to await taxis etc ,lots of nice pubs restaurants in walking distance .Around £6 for taxi to Queen Street station . We used Glasgocabs app no issues with transport .

Room was huge nice curtains would make it more appealing ,prefer blackout curtains in a hotel .Attention to small details like waste bin in shower room rusty and broken would cost about £5 to replace . None of this affected our stay though.Considering was weekend road outside was very quiet in morning.

Great location, perfect for wander to West End and for Hydro shows. Great bars and restaurants around too. Hotel staff were absolutely lovely and really helpful. The room itself was good, mine was on the bottom floor and was very clean and the double bed was comfy. The duvet was light and I was a bit cold in the night as it had been a rainy overcast day. The shower in my room was immense, it was very powerful and more like a lovely hot massage shower. My friend who was in the very top room however experienced it differently and her hot water became tepid very quickly, perhaps because it was the top room. When she queried this with the staff they shrugged it off and said it'll be because everyone was using the showers in the morning. If I stayed here again I'd likely request my room over my friends room as hers being on the top floor and no lift meant quite a stairs trek. The room had a kettle and teabags and instant coffee. No biccies but hey ho. The smart TV was good, you can sign into your own streaming services. Overall we were happy with our stay and found it decent value for money in the location.

I stayed at the Sandyford Hotel with my wife as we were meeting a few friends from the area. Neither of us were familiar with Glasgow but the hotel seemed a reasonable distance from the city centre and, for being so near the centre, was a great price. The staff were all very friendly and even though we arrived at 11am, they moved our room and checked us in straight away (though the alternative was to leave our bags under a window near the reception which didn't seem all too safe so the early check was greatly appreciated.) The room was spacious and had all the necessities: comfortable bed, easy-to-use bathroom, hanging space, desk and kettle. As a place to sleep at night it was more than suitable and matched the price we paid for it. We didn't choose to have breakfast but that was only as we knew we'd be having breakfast out each morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

As previously mentioned, if you're leaving your bags before check-in at the time of our stay they were only going to keep them under a window by reception. During our stay we did see other people leave their bags there and the area is in view of reception the whole time as well as cameras but it still felt a little out in the open.
