Lovely room, twin beds, which were very comfortable. Usual, tea and coffee station in room. Nice quiet room with all normal things in room, TV, hairdryer etc. around 15min walk to OVO hydro
Lack of parking. No designated parking at hotel. There is street parking, which is free evenings and weekends but we had to park a good 200m from hotel and walk to hotel in snowy conditions. View from window - to side of building - we were in room 110, wasn't very nice, lots of rubbish and overflowing bins/bags from tenement building nextdoor.

Size of room,...
£100 deposit is ridiculous... I've never known any hotel to do this this will not encourage me back anytime soon. Netflix didn't work as advertised. Bed small.t&c supplies poor No room phone

Perfect location in which to explore some culture in Glasgow. The university is all around you so you have that great student vibe and energy all around you. Excellent art galleries, pubs and parks all around.
The hotel now rquires a passport or driving license as part of the check in process. Indeed, it is a requirement. If you don't hand it over you can't check in. Sadly there is no provision of a safety deposit box or safe, either in the room or behind the front desk in which to keep your documents safe. Thereforr you have to carry your passport around with you everywhere. If this level of security is required for a brit to check in to a British hotle in his own country it means the country is no longer safe. Perhaps the hotel should consider updating their security arrangements with the addition of a safe in each room.

Very nice hotel for the budget traveller who wants to be in the middle of the cool bars, restaurants etc. We easily walked in to town in about 15 minutes which was great! The bedroom was front facing and was huge with a decent bathroom etc. Very clean but fairly basic. But I couldn't complain as it had everything we needed for 2 nights! Bus stops right outside too. I haven't stayed in a BW hotel for years but would definitely use them again!
Not the hotels fault, but our windows opened straight on to the bus stops which could be noisy and lacked privacy. But there were blinds which helped, but stopped us getting any fresh air which was a shame as there was no A/C in the room. Reception felt a little dark and dingy and one or two of the reception staff could work on their customer service skills as came across a little rude and cocky.

The hotel is clean, smells wonderful and is very nicely placed for Kelvingrove. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel seems to undergoing improvements and a refresh.
No on site restaurant available but still a need to preauthorise £100 on check in despite seemingly nothing to be able to charge to the room. Speaks to a level of mistrust in guests checking in to protect against "damages" Breakfast could use a bit of reorganising. All available staff members seemed to be running around in the bar area/breakfast room on the lower ground floor. This meant that reception was unmanned during breakfast. The only staff member I did see on reception during breakfast appeared to be the general manager. Making breakfast self service would require 2 or 3 members of staff instead of all hands on deck.

Very decent hotel from I saw. The receptionists are hard working, they attend to the bar also, which leads to waits for a drink or to check in (I saw this twice, maybe staff on a break?) I had a newly refurbished basement room. It was quite spacious and very clean, including the bathroom. The bed was firm with pristine white linen, I had a great sleep, apart from the occasional road traffic noise as I was at street level. I feel they should have considered triple glazing on these rooms. They also missed a good opportunity to install sockets with usb connections when upgrading the room/s (this can still be done with the bedside sockets :) The corridor can be a bit noisy from the room, but not too bad. I didn’t have the breakfast as the reviews seem to appear very hit or miss. It’s a great location for entertainment, bars and restaurants. I say it was very good value for money. (I booked late Friday afternoon so got a decent rate) Overall, a very nice stay.
Noise insulation.

The staff were super friendly and really helpful. Everyone we encountered from the receptionist to the people at breakfast, every one of them was lovely. The room was on the small side but very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was big with a huge bath! The breakfast was awesome; some cereals and small continental but the cooked breakfast was absolutely lovely (particularly the bacon!)
It was too far out of the way to be as expensive as it is. I've stayed smack bang in the city centre, in an equally nice hotel, for about £100 cheaper. It's a good 30/40 minute walk to the city centre, which was fine for us as the weather was unseasonably warm and sunny, but it would have been pretty miserable if it was raining, which Scotland is about 98% of the time. The only reason I wouldn't book again is the location. (Unless you're fine with paying for buses every day, which I'm not!)

Location was excellent for us as we have family in Finnieston and Partick. Hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. Our room was on the 3rd floor and very quiet so we had no problem sleeping. After a shaky start with the heating and a chat with reception our room was lovely and warm. Reception staff always had a lovely greeting and a smile for us whenever we were on our way out and on our way in. We had a very enjoyable 6 nights stay.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to maintenance, but there were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. We did have coffee and tea making facilities in our room. The only real problem we found was that the hot water was unpredictable. There were no hot/cold markings on the bath and shower taps and we rarely had hot water. I probably should have mentioned this at reception but I didn't. However we would stay there again in the future.

Every year, since 2013, with the exception of lock down, I have stayed at this Hotel. And I love it! It's a beautiful building, in an excellent location for walking to the Hydro, which is where my convention is held annually. Sitting down all day at the convention, it's great to have a brisk walk to and from the arena each day, and a beautifully cooked meal to round off the day. Perfectly balanced. I can personally recommend the Lamb Curry and the Steak, which I enjoyed on two of the evenings during my stay. The menu has something for everyone to enjoy. I've stayed in a different room each year I have visited, and every room has been wonderful. Clean, good facilities, super soft pillows and beautifully made beds. It's a shame to get in and spoil them! My rooms have been located at the front and the back of the hotel and all of them have had enormous windows, letting in lots of natural light, just right for reading, writing and knitting. I was always expecting to find the rooms noisy, being by a busy road, but they haven't been, surprisingly. A 55" television in the room this time was a lovely surprise. This year, the hotel is sporting the Best Western logo, but it is still family owned and run in the same caring way and with attention to detail that is not normally found in hotel chains. The new carpet in the reception is magnificent too. This morning when it was time for me to check out and make my way home again, I was greeted by two lovely members of the team on reception, who explained to me that I didn't have to dread the walk to the bus station with my heavy case, because there was an airport bus (no. 77) due in a few minutes which would deliver me straight there. My case was carried down the steps for me, and I crossed the road to wait for the bus and what joy to be whisked along the road on a 10 minute ride instead of a much longer slog , dragging my case.
I never like having to leave. Being looked after is a wonderful experience. Going home is inevitable, and so is the shopping/cleaning/cooking/washing up and noise when I arrive. But hey, there's always next year to look forward to!
