Stayed here for a conference due to its proximity to the SEC - excellent location and could head back to my room if there were gaps in the program. Easy access from the Scottish Events train station through the covered overpass. Large reception area with restaurant (breakfast included - amazing hot and cold selection, salads, pastries, juices and coffee... plus you could request an omelette if needed!). Everything is RED - the decor in the room and the pop art in the elevators! Lovely large window view overlooking river and SEC campus. Massive bathroom with plenty of places for towel storage/hanging, generous-sized shower (including rain shower head), plus plenty of storage in wardrobe with plenty of hangers, mini bar fridge and tea/coffee making plus large TV. Massive bed, extremely comfortable with plenty of plump pillows. Large desk space was perfect as I was attending conference so I could do some work in the evenings. Didn't eat at the restaurant in the evenings but it would have been a convenient option if not dining out. I had a 3am checkout to get to the airport and the night reception staff kindly arranged my taxi. Very professional service, reliable free wifi. Definitely the location is superb for a conference event.
Check in took a while (but I seemed to arrive as a large group required check in). There weren't that many overhead lights in the room - there was a set of pendant lights over the study desk but 2 of the 4 globes were not working and they were strangely positioned - if I tried to stand up from the desk, I would knock my head on the fixtures. More a nuisance than a major problem!

Staff - all outstanding. I have stayed for over a week - and every single member of staff I interacted with was OUTSTANDING. All reception, OUI bar and breakfast staff were five star .Hard to name them all - some I can remember - Olga, Andrew (waiting staff?), Amy (reception), Fiona (red hair, reception), Hani (reception), Erin-Ayla, Fiona. Every duty manager that was on shift durinfg my staff. I am going through a very difficult personal situation. Each and every one of them made this stay much less traumatic. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Standard of cleanliness, housekeeping quality, quality of room cards (I regularly have to return to reception to reactivate card - I stay in hotels regularly and this is not common)

Location was very convenient for the SEC. There's a taxi rank, bus stop and train station nearby. The room was very comfortable with an amazing shower, and the temperature control was efficient and easy to use. There's a fridge and a room safe. Also a proper wardrobe with enough hangers The staff were all very pleasant and approachable. The room I had had a lovely view over the river and a feeling of space which was very welcome after a busy day at the SEC
trivial things - cups stylish but too small for a decent cup of tea and only 2 teabags. One of the milk cartons was curdled, there's nowhere sensible to plug the kettle in.

Clean, bright and modern. Excellent hotel will stay again but won’t use the restaurant
The restaurant. We didn’t have breakfast but we attempted to have a meal on our first night. They squeezed us in which was great. We only ordered a jug of water for the table and one main meal. They forgot the water, which we had to ask again for it again. And when my meal came ( a halloumi burger as I’m vegetarian) the halloumi was still frozen in the middle!!! That right there raised red flags to me as the restaurant wasn’t busy and clearly no checks had been done on the food before it being served to the customer. (Can you tell I am a chef) the waiter took the food and said a fresh one was on its way! (Really, why thank you). So then we just left and got a McDonald’s. Which was hot and no issues.

The room was great with a comfortable large bed and a great sized TV. The view was FANTASTIC of the Hydro and river. The bathroom was clean and really nice with a wonderful walk in shower and the addition of the shower toiletries was great too. The AC worked brilliantly. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty great, I enjoyed it. The bar on the top floor was absolutely fantastic. The location was spot on for the event we went to in the Hydro. I really loved this hotel
Some of the light switches in the bedroom didnt work. The light over the table handing from the ceiling was a bit low and me and my bf hit our heads on it a fair few times which was quite funny but a little inconvenient. The room was not soundproof as stated.

the room was larger and more spacious than I was expecting, it was modern, light and airy. I was pleased with the large bed and we got it for a good price. Location is a bit of a walk outside the city centre but very close if you were attending something at the OVO HYrdo/SEC. We enjoyed having a drink outside the Sky Bar, nice setting on a gorgeous evening.
it was a very warm and sunny evening, it was a shame we couldn't eat pizzas outside and had to sit indoors to eat when there were tables just outside the restaurant. Service in the restaurant was a little slow/distracted despite it only being early evening and not busy. Staff were really polite though.

We booked to stay after a gig at the Hydro and it's perfectly located, just a couple of minutes walk. It's only a 10 minute walk to Finnieston where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. It's easy access from motorways and has a decent size car park. The staff were without exception excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. When our sockets and TV weren't working (tripped fuse) staff had it sorted in less than 10 minutes. The room was a good size and very bright, and we didn't hear any noise from other rooms. We especially liked that the decor has a bit of personality which is lacking in many hotels. The bed was comfortable and the curtains ensure blackout. Breakfast was great - very good choice of cooked items, continental, plus granola pots, fruit smoothies, and decent coffee. You can also order from the egg menu (e.g. Eggs Benedict, avocado and egg on toast).
Only a couple of things I would suggest to improve - perhaps more (and more choice) of pods for the coffee machine (we had two Americano and I think two decaf), and the selection of drinks at the Sky Bar wasn't great. They could get interesting beer from some of the many local craft breweries. The selection of spirits is also uninspiring. But I get it - you stock what people most often ask for.

The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also spacious and felt luxurious. Small touches were a real benefit such as the sewing kit and vanity pack. The bed was very comfy, and there was no traffic noise in the morning. Breakfast was very tasty, and there was plenty of food, and the hotel was in a great location.
We were at the Sky Bar in the evening - which was wonderful, and the staff there were excellent. However upon asking at reception if there was a vending machine or somewhere we could get water or snacks for the room, we were just given a 'no'. We had to venture outside and try and find somewhere ourselves.

Booked an overnight stay with my gran for her birthday and the staff couldn’t be any more friendlier. We arrived and got checked in by a lovely cheerful female who gave us a ticket for 2 free drinks for my grans birthday. We then got to our room which was looking right onto the hydro and the water front, there was also a card left which said happy birthday on it too. The room was beautiful and immaculate which made our stay so much better and easier. We went downstairs for a bite to eat and some drinks and the waiters/waitress were also lovely which great service. The next morning we went down to the breakfast and got seated right away, the staff that were working that morning couldn’t be any more helpful with getting us fresh cutlery, plates and bowls and fresh made food and beverages. Our stay was amazing and we will definitely be booking again :)
Everything was perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing

We stayed because we had tickets for a concert. The hotel was fantastic. Its location is perfect for the venues at Finnieston. We had a super-efficient check-in. The nicely-decorated room was outstanding with stunning views, ample space and a superb shower room. The bed was really spacious and fantastically comfortable. Had a great night’s sleep. We appreciated the coffee machine. The room had no external noise that we noticed. We had a very good breakfast indeed. Very highly recommended.
Rooftop bar experience was miserable, with staff doing everything they could not to serve us.
