I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff's warm and welcoming attitude stood out, making me feel right at home. Every member of the team was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The service at the hotel was nothing short of amazing. The front desk staff were efficient and helpful, housekeeping maintained the room impeccably, and any requests were promptly addressed with a smile. The room was spacious, and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the view from my room was breathtaking. Overall, the Clayton Hotel provided an outstanding stay, primarily due to the incredible staff and their dedication to excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable.

We have been staying here whenever we visit Glasgow as it is central

It is now mainly corporate meetings/training venue so full of working people the bar area now doubles as a meeting place laptops loud chatter not a comfortable relaxed place to sit and have a cocktail and chat. We always had room service but this visit on top of the menu price it’s a £5 charge to bring the card machine up as they don’t take cash. There also is a Spanish gentleman behind reception who is scary he needs to maybe learn customer service and smile.

We recently stayed at the Clayton Hotel in Glasgow, and this hotel deserves a perfect 10/10 rating for its outstanding qualities that left a lasting impression on us. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is simply unbeatable. Situated right in the heart of the city center, it provided convenient access to all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The vibrant energy of Glasgow was right at our doorstep, making our stay even more enjoyable. We loved the spectacular view we had from our room. Overlooking the river, the scenery was nothing short of mesmerizing. This stunning view added a touch of magic to our stay. Furthermore, the Clayton Hotel exceeded expectations when it came to cleanliness. Our room was immaculate, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the entire property. The housekeeping staff should be commended for their dedication to maintaining a pristine environment for the guests. One aspect that truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. When we mentioned to them that my wife experiences headaches from air conditioning, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They promptly offered us a different room with a window that could be opened, allowing for natural ventilation. Their attentiveness and willingness to ensure our comfort were truly remarkable and greatly appreciated.

The only minor downsides we encountered during our stay at the Clayton Hotel was that the beds were slightly shorter than expected, resulting in our feet extending beyond the edge and the blankets provided were a bit too thick for the season, given our visit in the middle of May.

Very friendly staff throughout, from initial check-in onwards, indicating, I would say, a happy team. Room was comfortable, though functional, a good that we were able to open a window for fresh air in the night as the air-con can be a bit harsh. All was very clean. The Hotel's location is excellent for Glasgow Central Station and for the endless supply of pubs and restaurants in the streets behind. Breakfast selection plentiful and tasty; actually the best thick bacon I've had for ages! We would certainly stay again and not hesitate to recommend to others.

Only two minor beefs. A hotel of such standing should strive to supply better quality toilet paper, and secondly, nothing against the modern preference for self-service breakfasts (which was very good here, to be fair,) however with the plethora of staff that were available it would be a nicer touch to have a pot of steaming tea personally brought to one's table. A chance to reintroduce a touch of old-fashioned service there Mr, Clayton.

We were welcomed the minute we arrived. Everyone we spoke to was warm, happy, helpful, and just couldn't do enough. Our room was wonderful, looking out over the Clyde River, spacious, modern with everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Lovely tea tray with tunnock caramel wafers, delicious 😋 a very nice touch! Plenty of tea/coffee, etc. More if you needed it. Modern bathroom , super shower & lovely toiletries (shower gel, shampoo & handwash) Breakfast was fabulous 👌 Plenty of choice, cooked, cold, cereals, fruit, pastries, yoghurts breads. All you could ever need! Plus, if you wanted poached eggs., porridge, this would be taken care of. Staff - lovely All the staff were really spot on. It's also in an excellent position, close to shops, pubs, restaurants, citysightseeing buses, and taxis are readily available if you need to go further afield. Three friends visiting Glasgow couldn't be happier. Would definitely recommend it, and we will definitely return 👍 👌 😀 😊 10/10 🌟

Ww came back late one day, and our room hadn't been refreshed. However! It was very quickly rectified as nothing was too much trouble. 10/10

I had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Clayton Hotels. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room (Room 201) was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I had everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

However, I was slightly disappointed with the room's view. On Booking.com, the pictures showed a room facing the outside bridge area, but the actual room I stayed in faced the opposite side, overlooking a block of flats. While this wasn’t a huge issue, it would have been nice to have the room as pictured. Aside from that, everything was great—location was convenient, and breakfast had a nice variety. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely consider staying here again.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Clayton. Checked in online with no problems and collected keys when arrived. We were allocated room 622 which was lovely , looking out to views of the river Clyde and the Southside of the city beyond. Had a few drinks in the bar, which, as expected were a bit pricey as oppose to our local pub however the bar area is a nice relaxing area of the hotel with ample seating for a large hotel. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and plentiful. Like a lot of hotels some people could complain how busy it was at Breakfast but we found it fine and everything we had with the cooked breakfast which you help yourself to was tasty. Checked out online as well which again was effortless and safes the need to wait in a que .Really couldn't fault the Clayton at all and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we had the need to stay in Glasgow for an overnight.

Everything was spot on. Liked everything about the hotel

We were lucky enough to be allocated a room overlooking The Clyde and we really appreciated the view. Lovely morning greeting when entering the restaurant. The location was a great mid point for us visiting the shops and Ovo Hydro. Comfortable seating and plentiful selection of good quality food and drinks. Lovely to have prepared fresh fruit and there was a good selection for cooked breakfast.

Cooked breakfast could have been hotter although I appreciate its difficult to maintain heat with metal containers being opened and closed so often. We were in a triple room but the tea/coffee/biscuits/ towels were not not topped up for the second day to take into account of 3 adults. Minor issue and extra towels were delivered to the room very quickly. Im sure if we'd asked for more tea bags, these would have been provided.

Location is perfect for city center activities. Loved the building and its modern tasteful interior but still retaining the character of the Customs House. Staff were very professional, attentive and aware of their guests. Liked how the hotel was secure conscious. Food was good as we had lunch, dinner and breakfast too. Lovely bedroom. A very relaxing experience. Will definitely stay again if staying in town.

Not faulting anything. Just a wee bit advice ... if you wish a taxi service, book at reception using your room number. Don't use the push button taxi request as it does not work.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly, the guy who takes your information at breakfast was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast was tasty. The hotel bar and restaurant looked lovely although we didn't try this and check in/out was faultless.

The breakfast area is very small. It was packed when we went down and it never seemed to ease up. Trying to get to any of the food is a bit of a zoo with queues and everything packed into one tightly confined space where if you want to just quickly grab something you end up either queuing up for ages or awkwardly fighting your way through people just to grab a pastry. Also, the plates do not need to be 100 degrees and I heard a lot of people around me mention it - there is not even a warning to advise how hot the plates actually are and a guy went to grab one and nearly smashed it. Even with two napkins folded in half my fingers were starting to burn by the time I got back to my table. The pillows were quite uncomfortable but that is just a personal preference.
