The accommodation is fantastic. We’ve stayed before under previous ownership and it has exceeded our expectations from our previous stay. The staff were so warm and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. The cafe below and garden centre in itself would be worth a visit but staying above was even better and the use of the facilities. This is a particularly special part of the country for my husband and I and we absolutely love staying here. We won’t hesitate to book again for any future visits.

Very comfortable room. Well equipped. Easy parking outside. Next door to well-equipped shop and cafe where breakfast was served. Good location for Tarbert ferry to Islay and also ferry for a day trip to Gigha.

Breakfast times started at 8.30 and could have been earlier to accommodate people catching ferry to Islay. But they did give us a good breakfast bag ( which was like a packed lunch). Location is a bit remote and the shop closes at 4pm so book breakfast bags in advance if you have an early start and eat before arriving/ book somewhere for evening meal. Argyll Hotel was good and great location on beach not far from Glenbarr.

The room was very comfortable. We had a room with a private bathroom opposite to the room which was fine but I suggest trying to book the ensuite rooms. We had breakfast one day and it was very good, nice choice and individually cooked. The second day we left early and they provided a packed breakfast which was very useful. There is nowhere to eat in the village but The Argyll Hotel in Bellochantuy a few miles away provided a good menu for evening meals.

The rooms were excellent. It was like a small flat. There was a small kitchen, sitting room/bedroom, and bathroom. All were decorated to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable and after 5.30pm it was very quiet. The coffee shop to the rear was a treat. Plenty of local produce. The staff in both the shop and coffee shop were lovely.

It got quite noisy in the morning when the shop opened at 9.00. Room was above the shop and you had to go through the shop to get to the coffee shop. We are both light sleepers which was unfortunate.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was really comfortable. Quite relaxing. Nice surroundings we ate breakfast in the greenhouse which was really nice The food was great, overall an excellent stay. I would highly recommend and we would definitely stay there again.

Room did not have ensuite but our own private bathroom across the hall which was not an issue

The room was very comfy & immaculately clean with plenty of space for us and the dog. Check in was straightforward and the staff left us a goodie bag because the central heating was down (but had been replaced by plug in heaters that worked a treat).

The only complaint was the electric shower …. It went from freezing cold to boiling hot over and over regardless of what setting you had it on. There was nobody around to ask in the evening (Forgot to mention this to staff in person in the morning otherwise would have done that rather than write on review because everything else was spot on)

Huge room/mini apartment with separate kitchen dining area and sitting room. Bathroom within apartment with good sized shower. Lovely and warm. Wireless free charging with USB points in bedside plugs. Staff at attached café used for breakfast in morning were very friendly. Recommendation of The Argyle for dinner was excellent.

No phone network signal so reliant on house internet which wasn't working, although the owners have organised this to be repaired as soon as possible. Breakfast options very small and limited.

We visited for one night out of season.. Glenbarr is a tiny hamlet on the Atlantic coast of the Kintyre peninsula. The room was warm and comfortable and very quiet. There was also a communal living/dining/kitchen for use if required. We went to a local hotel for our meal but will use the kitchen facilities when we return. Breakfast was taken in the adjoining café, continental breakfast with a hot roll which was good. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay, the only negative was that the toilet was very noisy when flushed. This wasn't really a problem but we were aware of the noise at night for other guests.

Everything is absolutely perfect at The House@Glenbarr from the staff to the facilities. Accommodation is clean, comfortable and the decor is lovely. Breakfast is tasty and taken within the cafe where the staff are lovely and very helpful. It was my birthday the weekend we went and the staff gave me a lovely birthday gift bag and card which made me feel so happy, such a lovely and kind thing to do. The shop is well stocked with necessities and lovely gifts and again the staff are so welcoming and helpful. 10/10 would highly recommend and plan on staying again.

EVERYTHING… staff were attentive and we didn’t need or want for anything. Everything had been extremely thought out . No guest staying there would feel like they weren’t staying in their own home. The nightlight / torch was absolutely the perfect touch to lighting and in an emergency if needing to go out to your car in the darkness of Scottish nights. I’ve even now ordered one for my home. The breakfast was absolutely so fresh and cooked to perfection. We met up with some friends and the dogs ( clan of spaniels) were also made to feel at home.

Absolutely no negatives
