The Property is Situated a 5 Minute walk from the Ferry Terminal, The Hotel in its entirety is Stunning, The Touch of using Real Candles within all of the areas definitely enhances the ambiance as well as Supporting Local Business as well. All of the Staff from the Receptionists, Wait Staff, Cleaners are Friendly and Attentive and all Work Tirelessly to ensure Guests are Taken Care of and have everything they need. The Food is Exceptional whether it is Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner which again is Locally Sourced and Promoted. There is Space between the Tables so you don’t feel too close to others and the Views from this Establishment are Absolutely Stunning. Having ample Space outside which is extremely well Maintained to sit and take in all the Splendour of the Natural Landscape.

Room was great, very sizeable, comfortable and in a very quiet part of the hotel. There was even a fan already in the room so we didn’t have to go and ask for one. The hotel was very clean, in fact spotless, which is a major consideration for us. The staff were pleasant and helpful, especially the lady who attended to us at breakfast (sorry, didn’t get her name), she was very pleasant and attentive, even allowing us to use a reserved table because she knew we would be vacating it before the next people arrived. The breakfast was superb as was the food we had in the evening. Not a cheap stay but we felt it was well worth the money.

The only thing that could have been better was the over the bath shower. It was quite hard to get into for us oldies and the slope on the inside of it meant it was hard to get fully under the shower. A small thing as everything else was great, but we are not keen on over the bath showers anyway.

A booking error meant that we lost the sea view room, however we were given a nice big modern room and a rebate. The hotel gets busy , its so close to the ferry terminal and the eating choices in Brodick are limited so the Bistro and bar get busy with families. There is quite a bit of outdoor space , weather dependent of course The service was good , bed very comfy and food fine.

When its busy there isn't much lounge area , however this would have been helped had the weather been better Brodick doesn't offer much and if we return to Arran we will probably stay elsewhere. Neither are of course the Hotels fault.

Room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable- if a bit dark. But very comfortable bed and great quality towels. All the staff were lovely- very friendly and helpful- and we had 2 lovely meals in the Bistro. Breakfast was all freshly cooked to order which meant a bit of a wait but it was well worth it! Would definitely return.

The shower was over the bath and it was quite a deep bath which made it difficult for us older people. The lighting in the bathroom was poor- could have done with brighter lights for doing makeup and hair. Otherwise it was all lovely.

Our room was charming and comfortable with a large bed and tea/coffee/biscuits in the room provided. We were greeted warmly and taken care of by EVERY staff member we interacted with who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The location is right off the Ferry and we were able to walk or use public transportation to easily access everything we needed on Arran. I cannot state enough what a pleasant experience we had at the hotel! The included breakfast was also delicious and included amazing continental options as well as a hot order of food as well. All in all, we loved our experience at The Douglas!

Beautiful building and great bar and restaurant. Amazing staff (especially Jack) and food.

Felt the room could have been in a little better condition and was not entirely matching pictures of the rooms we seen prior to booking. Room was clean but the throw on the bed did appear dirty.

The whole hotel is impeccably clean, beautiful room, incredibly comfortable bed (and surprisingly comfortable window seat which was big enough for me to lie on and help my back!) Wonderful breakfast, exemplary staff who are friendly and very helpful.

Toilet roll - I would appreciate something softer and with another ply or two!

The staff are friendly, a warm welcome awaits as you check in, rooms are beautiful, bathrooms fabulous, quite a unique hotel with a lot of character, but that does not mean dated, everything was lovely and well maintained, a modern feel, spotlessly clean, beautiful bar and dining areas - great views, food is excellent including breakfasts. You don't need to be a resident to pop in for a lovely cup of coffee or pot of tea, (and beer during licensing hours) and cakes available from mid morning in the bar area. Lovely outlook and patio area and outdoor seating in the warmer months - The Hotel is about a 100metres from the ferry terminal, so you could come over as a foot passenger, there is a bus service around the island (check times) though. I loved it - Thank you shout out to receptionist Lucie who made me feel most welcome, as well as the dining staff, bar staff and cleaners who worked tirelessly keeping everything spotless.

The staff are unbelievably helpful and so lovely and easy to approach. The hotel helped me lots before I even arrived to change the number of nights for my stay (due to personal circumstances) and really helped with tips and numbers to book a taxi to wedding venue.The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous and we had a beautiful room! Lovely amenities and we loved the soap and shampoo etc so we ended up ordering it when we were on the boat home. Breakfast was delicious! Every member of staff we met, had a smile on their face and were so helpful. Never been to Arran before but we would love to come back, mostly because this hotel was just a fantastic find!

Location. Off the ferry and into the hotel's carpark, perfect. Staff. Friendly, professional, accommodating. Made our stay feel homely. Room. Very clean, spacious, comfortable and cozy. Great views. Good facilities, I loved the bath. Had really good nights sleep. Woke up opened the blinds and I'm greeted with fantastic views of the sea and a snow topped mountain, just... just fabulous. Breakfast. Excellent selection of continental and hot breakfast. You can bespoke your hot breakfast, e.g., just sausage and eggs. Dinner. We had dinner in the hotel one evening and had fish and chips. The food was delicious with very good portions. At the other end of the town is the Ormidale Hotel. The pub was awesome! The people were so friendly. It serves the best pub food I've had in a long long time. The have good selections of whisky. You need to go there. Naz is awesome and we had some good chats about the whiskys. The distillery tours are a must. We drove around the island, around 50 miles, stopping at various points to take in the stunning scenary. The beaches are beautiful. It's a variation of everything on one beautiful island, landscapes, geology and wildlife.
