Our stay provided us with exactly the break we were looking for. The Boathouse was in an ideal location. The welcome was warm and genuine. Mike and his team were brilliant throughout our stay in terms of the way that they looked after us and their other guests. The diners and breakfasts we had were delicious and they were happy to incorporate tweaks to their menus for their guests despite being a busy pub. The Sunday lunch we had with them was amazing. It was really nice to find somewhere which was quiet, but easily accessible, with ample parking and in a location which provided us with a fantastic base to explore Norfolk. It is somewhere we definitely intend to revisit. It is also worth noting and recommending that visitors also visit the Waterside Cafe beside the lake at the other end of the village which is also run by Mike and his team and also provides excellent refreshments and bites.

Amazing location, facilities and staff. We stayed in the Heron lodge (4 adults and 4 children). The lodge was the perfect size for us. Large kitchen and living area, plus 3 bedrooms including an en-suite and a seperate bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you may need for a short or long stay. The location was lovely and the views are just gorgeous. All of the staff on site were really special. We were greeted with genuine people who were happy to see us and chat to us. They were all super friendly and genuine. The bar staff, FOH staff and restaurant staff were on the ball with everything. Nothing was too much trouble at all. My young nephew has several allergies so I asked if they could accommodate him in the on site restaurant. I was blown away with the response as they had a full gluten free and dairy free/vegan menu. This meant that my nephew was able to have a really lovely dinner in a restaurant for a change. He’s usually dumped with gluten free chicken goujons and sorbet for desert. Here he was able to have a “cheesecake” for desert which he had never had before. He was over the moon, as were we.

Would have preferred cheaper option for simpler,lighter breakfast, eg cereal and toast at one price, cooked at another. Property location lovely, and main reason we visited. Cleanliness of grounds, car park, public areas and rooms exceptional. Served at all times by often very young staff, with courtesy, friendliness, and professional/ caring attitude.Such a pleasure to find this.. Staff always had time to chat about our day/proivide extra tea/coffee etc. Loved the absolute silence in our room.No noisey extractor fans etc. Loved having a window to open,rather than one nailed shut as so often these days!Loved lack of"notices " around the property,Keep out/water hot/beware this that or the other! Most refreshing! Lovely decor. Smaller portion option for some dishes on menu a real bonus.

The food was nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the menu stood out. What amazed me most was the value—gourmet dining at a fraction of what you'd expect to pay at a high-end restaurant. A Hidden Gem Offering 5-Star Luxury Without the Price Tag I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic Boathouse hotel and dining in its on-site restaurant, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations. Rooms: The rooms are absolutely stunning—modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with luxurious touches throughout. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom felt like a private spa, and the attention to detail was top-notch. It truly felt like a 5-star experience from the moment I walked in.

The Boathouse is in a wonderful setting and the building is very tastefully decorated. Our room exceeded our expectations, spacious and comfortable. We were able to have our evening meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were delightful and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends,

No bottled water or glasses in our room. Breakfast was also delicious but let down by lack of fresh tea and coffee served to individual tables. Served in conference style jugs on buffet table.

I lived here in my teenage years and I only live 2 minutes away from the Boathouse so this was a surprise for my wife who thought we were just going for an anniversary meal. The staff were so helpful to keep the surprise going and following a superb evening meal my wife was shocked to discover we were staying overnight and the room overlooking the broads was my old bedroom. The room has a superb view is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom, shower, bath are all a decent size and we had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast is additional cost but very nice with another stunning view of the broads.

Toast would have been nice at breakfast but we have nothing really to complain about.

Fantastic property with all the comforts of home. There was plenty of room for us as a family of 4 with a 20 and 15 year old who need their own space. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to cook our own breakfast each morning. The price was amazing value and we will definitely be back again as we love the Broads and everything Norfolk has to offer.

We only had a few minor issues in an otherwise amazing stay. The bathroom was not great. The shower is poor and the sink is tiny which results in water all over the floor when you wash your face. It also smelt a bit funky which is due to the damp. In the smallest bedroom with the bunk beds there are no sockets or drawer space and the light switch is outside the door. My daughter was a bit frustrated that she couldn’t charge her phone in the room. Other then that we loved it.

Thursday night stay - a "last minute" booking for 1 night - didn't previously know of the place. Shouldn't have worried - a very friendly welcome received; a lovely room over-looking the water; enjoyable meal and a relaxing walk around the site in the cool of evening.

No 'minus' points really. No small fridge in room (3) to keep drinks cool. Hairdryer lead didn't stretch from socket to mirror location. Had to be careful where you trod around grounds due to wild fowl 'deposits'.

A perfect and peaceful location right beside the water, the lodge was warm and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and en-suite bathroom for the main bedroom. We were a party of 8 and even one of the bunk beds was a double, very comfortable and lovely fresh white linen. Convenient parking very close but a car free area around the lodges made it nice and quiet, just a few ducks wandering around to remind us how close to nature we were. Plenty of parking close by and of course the Boathouse pub is 1 minute walk away.

The location was excellent, with loads of free parking. Very relaxing and with no noise. The lodge was bigger than expected and the beds comfortable. The restaurant food was very good.

The electrics were difficult to understand and seemed to have a mind of their own at times. Sensor light switches in the bathrooms would stay on for ages at times and at others, switch off after a short period. Not helpful when showering! We never did discover how to switch on one of the main lights. Didn't cook, so no issue to us. The breakfasts were generally good but took a long time coming, with not a great number of diners. Some of the full English had been overcooked.
