All staff friendly and welcoming, special mention to Michelle who went above and beyond! Really dog friendly room 26 right near outside door! Spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom with a big bay window over looking the Venetian Waterways. Great breakfast and good dinner menu at reasonable prices! Parking available on site but could be tight in high season, fine while we were there! There are parking meters in front of hotel and disabled parking is free.
Room 26 is right by the night door, great for dog owners but if you have guarding breed not so good as this is the door used for everyone returning late to hotel after night out, talking loud, a bit merry and banging doors, causing dog reaction! Parking could be a problem in high season but not when we were there.

View and location are excellent. Perfect location to be able to check on our caravan in Hemsby during winter months. All staff are exceptional and very helpful, friendly, and understanding. Like that we can take our little Bichonpoo with us, he is very adventurous and loves travelling and meeting new people and other dogs. This hotel is brilliant for that as very dog friendly and chef was more than happy to cook our fur baby meals as requested to be served with ours. I hope this hotel never stops being dog Friendly as we will continue to stay here. Stayed already twice in 2025, January weekend, and a two night February that turned into a four night. Would have happily stayed longer but couldn't keep moving rooms and had to get back home. I am sure we will stay again as long as our little dog is able to accompany us, fingers crossed that never changes.
Beds were not the greatest and also soundproofing, not the great from other guests' rooms. Couldn't stay on the second floor again due to mobility . Rooms are a little dated and need updating. Loved the last room we stayed in though.

Nice breakfast, room was as expected, and the shower was nice and hot. A good priced B&B opposite the Waterways which were charming. Lots of loo roll in the bathroom. Walking into the centre of Great Yarmouth was about 15 minutes at most with young children. A great location and a good nights sleep. The breakfast room was pleasantly decorated. Lots of leaflets for ideas of what to do. Lots to do in Great Yarmouth it is fun for the family.
Bar shut at 10pm, fried bread we weren't keen on, but rest of the fry up was lovely. The view from the family room was of a roof, but the view from a double was beautiful and off the sea. Parking was available in a car park but as we have a long wheel base it was hard to park and get out again so we parked near by on a side road. That said we would stay again and found the hotel rather pleasant.

The Kensington Hotel is good value, family friendly hotel situated directly across from the sea front facing the sand dunes. We stayed for 3 nights and booked 1x double bedroom and 2x 1 bedroom rooms. There was ample of car parking available within the secure car park area. The receptionist was all friendly and professional. The hotel is steeped in history and the rooms are decorated tastefully with neutral and comfortable furnitures. There is in house classic games area with a generous sized pool table on the ground floor with access to the bar and the dining area. We opted for breakfast and each day the breakfast was served with menu showing vegetarian and full English breakfast dishes along with many choices of cereals and fruit juices. We enjoyed our breakfast watching the seagulls hustling for food, dog walkers walking their dogs across the promenade and we had uninterrupted clear views of the sea. The hotel sits alongside the more established and refined part of the stretch and somehow it felt very pleasant and made for peaceful settings. After breakfast we went for a leisurely walk catching in the fresh breeze. We came across mostly the residents walking their dogs and we felt comfortable knowing this route and area is well served and used by its local community.

Breakfast was really nice the dining room is light and airy, dogs were allowed which we thought was good, but we didn't take ours. Our room 24 was light and airy only thing was due to the hot weather the room was stifling should have asked for a fan but we managed. We had the 3 course meal on Sunday prawn cocktail roast beef, and dessert couldn't falt it. Was lovely. Would I stay again yes without a doubt. Free car parking which was a bonus. 10-15 minute walk into town. The young waiter not sure of his name very polite and courteous

Great value for money . Good breakfast and the evening meals we had were lovely well cooked and big portions. Staff were very friendly. Linen and towels were very clean and proper size bath towels . Whole hotel was nice and warm . View of seafront was nice and the location was good both for Great Yarmouth and seeing things in the area . Wi-Fi worked well . Tea and coffee in room . Good value for money compared to other places .
Some areas could do with a revamp especially in the corridor areas , entrance etc . Some parts of room were dusty and needed better clean but nothing major. The shower was difficult to use as no holder on wall and would have liked a blind in bathroom window . There was a bath though and the water was hot . Was bit noisy in the morning as some people left quite early and the walls are a bit thin . We had a great stay though so don’t let the negatives put you off . Dissapointing that booking say there is no charge for pets but there was a nightly charge to pay for our dog .

Location was very good on the sea front. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Good parking.
The room and ensuite was a little small and in need of a makeover. Slight issue with the payment. The full room charge was taken from my credit card on the day before my stay and again on the day of my stay. So I paid double. It took 9 days of communication with the hotel, booking dot com and my bank before the first amount was refunded. I hope that the hotel reviews its charging and dispute resolution process with booking dot com as I was batted between the two when trying to resolve this.

Although it could do with a bit of tlc the room was clean and comfortable and was perfect for what we needed which was a base from which to explore the local area. All the staff were lovely and very helpful and there was a good choice for breakfast. Room was also cleaned every day which you don't get in some other pricier hotels these days. Bar prices very reasonable too. All in all, great value for money!
Went down to the bar just after 10 on Saturday as we were told it was open till 11 Friday and Saturday only to find the doors locked and everything closed. Would have been nice to have somewhere to sit and relax in the evenings. This was however a minor issue and didn't spoil our stay in any way but as there was no where to sit in the room but on the bed, an alternative would have been good.

Good location, parking, breakfast
Poor attitude and lack of customer service from female member of restaurant staff, think she was managing the restaurant on Easter Sunday - we had dinner booking for 15:45. We were shown to table in middle of room and asked if that was ok. It felt in the way so asked if we could have one of several empty tables at the side instead, out of the thoroughfare, she said no they are for other customers. We were in restaurant for several hours and no one occupied any of those tables - the staff did not even lay them out for any guests! Seems staff member just lazy and couldn’t be bothered to accommodate! Such a shame as rest of stay was very good.
