The setting of this Inn is absolutely beautiful. Set in a small village, it is really quiet and from our dormer window the views were stunning. The staff were welcoming and the pub part of the Inn was cosy with a nice friendly atmosphere. Dinner was absolutely stunning. We had probably the best steaks we'd ever had. The starters and the puddings were equally delicious. The chef came out at the end to apologise for what he thought was a slow service. I didn't think it was slow, and we didn't wait too long for our food at all. He, like all the staff were really attentive and friendly. Due to an appointment elsewhere, we had to miss breakfast, which started at 09.00 on Saturdays. However, the lady who'd served us at dinner prepared a continental breakfast tray, including a jug of fresh milk for cereals, and even helped us carry everything up to our room.
It's not something that can be changed but the rooms are up in the roof space of the inn and the ceilings are sloped and low in places. The bathroom was a little tight for space and headroom too. If you are particularly tall, that might be an issue for you.

The Hollybush Inn far exceeded our expectations. Our room was superb - extremely comfortable and spacious. We really felt at home. All the staff were brilliant - so friendly. We had fabulous conversations in the bar with both staff and the really friendly locals. Can't fault this wonderful place. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. The location is heavenly. Will definitely stay here again.
There was nothing we didn't like. Maybe some yoghurt at breakfast might have been nice but this is only personal preference really. Otherwise, there is nothing to improve, including the selection of gins!

I would highly recommend the Hollybush Inn — clean, comfortable, and staffed by fantastic people. I stayed there during the Dirty Reiver cycle ride, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating, squeezing in a late supper and an early breakfast for me. It’s great value for money, and I would recommend this inn to anyone. Both evenings, the place was packed with locals — and you can’t ask for a better endorsement than that.
It only opens at 4pm for check in and I really fancied a pint before then! Seriously, it's great!

Almost everything about our visit was great. We got a lovely welcome and everyone at the Inn was friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was top quality pub grub, accompanied by excellent drinks (local beer, and really nice wine) all at extremely good prices. A great cooked breakfast in the morning too. Our budget room made the best use of its space, with a nice shower, and very clean bedding. . So, absolutely no complaints about the service, location, cleanliness, ambience and food & drink - all were top notch.
The only downside (and it's quite an important one) was that our mattress was very soft and lumpy, which meant a disturbed night. With a new bed/mattress, it would be idyllic.

I had the best night's sleep in weeks at Hollybus Inn. The small single room is out the back (entry to that room is via the courtyard). It seems like this was a former storage area, as the blocked-up door can still be seen in the room. It just about fits a very comfortable single bed and a small shower/toilet. It was very warm and cosy and all I really needed for my one-night stay. There was tea/coffee and even a hairdryer. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I am back in the area. Also its very close to Kielder Water.
The wifi did not really work out the back or in the room but I had mobile data, so that was not a big deal. Otherwise there is really nothing bad to report.

The facilities were very good but the WiFi went down which was not the fault of the proprietors, it was a BT issue. I enjoyed my stay which is just as well because it was expensive to be honest, at least twice as expensive of where I normally stay in the same area. The food was ok but nothing special in my opinion and again quite expensive. To be fair the room I occupied was the most expensive due to there being no others available and it was lovely. Would I use this place again? Yes if there was no alternative. By the way the staff were very good, excellent in fact. And the locals are great people.
Please see above.

Excellent location for visiting the Kielder observatory. The staff at Hollybush Inn suggested other local walks and attractions to visit during our 3 day stay which we did and really enjoyed. Bellingham has a waterfall (Hareshaw Linn) which is well worth a visit, wear suitable footwear as some parts of the walk are steep. Hexham Abbey is also a place to see. We recommend eating at the Hollybush Inn Tim the chef is excellent and we enjoyed the specials immensely. Everything is home cooked - except the ice cream- and the food is reasonably priced. All the staff go out of their way to .are sure you are well catered for and included.
Nothing really, although seat pads on the dining chairs would have been welcome.

Lovely welcome very late in the evening. The staff made us a meal despite the late hour and arranged drinks waiting in our room. The pub was friendly and locals all made the effort to say hi. The food was top notch and there was a good selection for breakfast and evening meal. We initially had a room with a double bed but were able to switch to a king. There is a mistake on the booking.com description for our original room but this move was rectified the next day. There are great walks from the front door and we packed plenty in on our long weekend away. We will definitely return.
Nothing at all

A lovely, uncomplicated old-style pub/restaurant, largely unchanged over the years but with very comfortable B&B-style en-suite rooms. The staff were really welcoming and the food was excellent! Plenty of pub favourites, but more imaginative options, too. The location is very special - if you like peace, tranquillity, huge open skies, long walks and lots of silence punctuated only by birdsong, that is...
A longer stay :-)

Good choice for tasty breakfast and dinner menu, enjoyed the meals. Nice room, good shower only hiccup was the radiator on a night but fine on a morning. Nice beer garden overlooking the fields and hills. Not a big fan of cask ales but plenty of choice at a reasonable price. (met the main criteria, cold and wet)
Radiator came on on a morning but wasn't on when you came back to your room late evening. Didn't mention it as we where only there two nights.
