I stay in many hotels and b and b's, and this was right up there with the very best of them, especially for value for money, quality of the food (dinner and breakfast), comfort and quietness, and friendliness and "obligingness" of the staff. My room was large and overlooked the extensive gardens. Dinner was fantastic value: I ordered fish and chips (fish being locally bought from nearby Grimsby) and the waiter asked whether I would like the fish to be grilled rather than cooked in batter. The grilled version was delicious, as were the crispy chips and the delicious pavlova which followed. Breakfast was equally excellent. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, without exception. I had a very happy and pleasant stay.
Nothing. The hotel is an old manor house, which is quite sprawling but on that account roomy and in its way characterful. The extensive stabling has been converted into rooms in a most interesting way, and the gardens are unsophisticated but delightful.

Loved everything about this hotel! The hotel is situated in vast beautiful grounds and when out for a stroll after dinner we saw a fox run across their grounds. All the staff were so polite, helpful and friendly. The whole hotel and the bedroom we stayed in was so clean and decorated to a high standard. There was a fridge with bottled water as well as tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A big plus for us was that they were dog friendly and allowed our dog to stay in the room or sit with you to eat in the Pig and Whistle Bar if you so wished. The standard of food at dinner and breakfast in the dining room was of exceptionally high standard. Wish we could have stayed for longer but will be back if we have to travel to the area in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We liked everything.

Everything was great. Lovely location. Room, bed, pillows all great. Shower was heaven!! Really lovely room. Breakfast good. Staff very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Xmas deco are the nicest I’ve seen in a while. Not tacky. Festive and elegant. Highly recommend staying here.
1.There was a Xmas party in room behind us. If we had known would have asked to be moved. Wanted a peaceful weekend. It didn’t ruin our stay and we would stay again which we will as daughter has moved to village. Hotel should maybe advise guests upon arrival of any booked parties. Girl on desk was lovely and apologised. 2. Breakfast good, hot and fresh just needs fresh bread (not sliced) and tastier bacon would make great (it’s the little things that make it great) and 3.staff need decent, flattering uniforms. Looked like they wore their own clothes. Not a good look for what could be a high end hotel.

Room was well appointed. It was a hot day and evening.when we entered the room there was a fan in the room which was already on - a nice touch. We had been contacted by the hotel to inform us that there was a wedding in the hotel that day and it would possibly be noisy but they would move our room as far away from the event as they could. Excellent! Breakfast was buffet style and the quality was excellent the best we have had in a hotel for a long time. Well done Healing Manor

Nice location, good food, really good breakfast, dog friendly.
In a dog friendly room by the lake, a wedding was on, not noisy but people walking past the doors of the room made the dog bark as their is no privacy curtain, so it’s either shut the curtains and be in the dark or spend a lot of time trying to distract the dog, and having people see straight into the room, when with a privacy curtain this would not have mattered. A small matter but it would have helped.

Our room was enormous and bathroom very large too. The tea tray was well stocked. Bed was large and comfortable. Lovely restaurant and great food. We shared the Beef Wellington deal which was delicious and good value . The cooked breakfast was excellent. Beautiful grounds. All the staff are really friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere.
There was no hanging rail in the wardrobe. Just a few hooks and 1 coat hanger. There was a hole in the bath panel and rust on top of the bathroom radiator - that together with a few marks on the furniture made the room feel a little tired. In spite of these few things we did enjoy our stay and would stay again.

Lovely staff and a very relaxing hotel to stay at.
Cheap sliced bread for breakfast. There's really no excuse/need for this, as everything else that we ate was top quality. Two people having a meeting regarding staff issue's/holiday's etc right under our bedroom window which went on for over 2 hrs! I could clearly hear the name's of the staff members that they were discussing + everything else. There were other people who were trying to relax with a drink in the nice weather, that also had to listen to it all. The weather was warm, hence not wanting to close the window.

The Christmas decorations' were amazing and the Christmas market was a lovely bonus when we stayed. Staff were very friendly and the setting is lovely
The room needed a little extra detailing, there was a pillow and rubbish out on our balcony, there was limited hot water and the bath panel had a small hole in to. When we flagged this to the staff they let us know our room was due an upgrade and were very accommodating.

We have stayed here a few times now and the rooms are great, always clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast is always great with excellent choice from a full English buffet or freshly cooked dishes like pancakes, bacon and syrup or eggs Benedict to name just a few. they are very good on allergies, particularly Gluten. This is our first choice when staying in the area.highly recommended.
This isn’t the hotel’s fault. the hotel has 4 car charge points (great!) but sometimes inconsiderate guests park their non elec cars in the spaces. and worse, some EV drivers park in the bays without using the chargers! this is annoying if we really need to charge and it is also denying the hotel revenue from the chargers. I think guests should give reg plates on check in and if they are parked in the charging spaces but not using the chargers they should be asked to move.

Perfectly located for our trip. Lovely setting and facilities
We were warned about a function taking place on the second night of our trip and were told it would all wrap up by 11pm. At 1.15am there were still revellers yelling at the top of their voices outside our room!! No hotel staff appeared to be interested in quietening them down. Also the mattress in our newly renovated room wasn’t comfortable at all it obviously hadn’t been upgraded as it was saggy in the middle and your feet and head were high.
