On arrival I was greeted by Lulu at reception. An extremely affable young lady who got me registered easily. Slight hiccup with room location (1st floor but ground had been requested) and it was a testament to the customer care this was soon dealt with. The TV in my room was on the blink and this was reported. Lulu couldn't fix it and the duty lady manager showed up with a completely new TV. Brilliant! Bed and pillows for me were perfect. I went to the restaurant and the same lady manager ushered me in and arranged drinks. This lady must be recognised too. She was extremely helpful and caring, not only for me but all the guests. The menu is not wildly over extensive but still allows very good choice. As a bonus this allows the chef to perfect his dishes , which he/she has done. The food was superb! As the taxi dropped me off, the driver said the food was good. I had the pork belly as a starter and if it had been more tender it would have been jelly; simply melt in the mouth! I then opted for the gammon steak which was beautifully tender and one the best I have tasted! There's good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails. I opted for continental breakfast the next morning. Wide selection of cereals fruit and yoghourts. I was offered toast but just want the cereal. If I have to be in Grimsby again, this will be my first choice. I shall be back!

Not really a negative but I did think my room (38) was due for a redec soon. It was a little dowdy but nevertheless very clean and in good condition! Hopefully a brighter palette will be chosen for the colour scheme.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful from the domestic staff to the multi tasking reception / bar / restaurant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms have been recently refurbished and my room (29) was excellent and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as was the food served in both the restaurant and bar areas.

The surface in the bath / shower was in my opinion a little dangerous when wet with not anti-slip surface or hand rails to help ‘older people’ getting in and out of the bath tub without slipping. I’m sure they must have facilities for the older more infirm person but I did find it a challenge not to slip when taking a shower. My only other concern that detracts from an overall excellent experience was the wifi signal within my room. It kept dropping out and was a very weak signal.

Stayed in one of the annex rooms, whilst at first glance it doesn’t look up to much the room is very large, bathroom is a great size, bed was comfortable and a desk fan is provided.

Not a dislike but a more adequate place to mention the ‘issue’. Breakfast service wasn’t the fastest but the reasons were understandable, most if not all the guests arrived within the same time frame, that’s going to put strain on the staff/kitchen, the lack of understanding, back handed compliments and general attitude of some guests was astounding, truly awful. The staff did what they could with what they had and in all the breakfast was very nice.

The Hotel is in a beautiful building, the reception, bar/dining area are all very nicely presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room I had was at the back, so quiet, spacious and easy to access with a roller case. I liked my room, the ensuite bathroom especially seemed up-to-date. The staff were very attentive when I dined alone. The fish was beautiful. The custard tart was amazing.

Other reviews have said that the decor is a bit tired, but it does seem to be a work in progress. I could see what they meant in the corridors, but that has to be the last priority for the Hotel. If you had a front facing room it might be a bit noisy, since it faces a busy road and junction. I found the mattress uncomfortable, too hard for my old hips. I appreciate some people like a firm mattress though. I chose Sea Bass off the menu , which was beautifully done, but the accompanying vegetables had been deep fried, which was not to my taste.

Smooth check in. Very attentive staff. Price was very reasonable and food was great. Convenient walking distance to the train station and hospital (for me). Very quiet.

Perhaps a little chilly in the bar area, although I like to think that means there was good ventilation/filtration. Would have been helpful to have restaurant opening times somewhere in the room (although I may have missed it). Probably wouldn't be close enough to the beach to walk it, but the nearby bus would take you there.

The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, the beds are always comfortable and any issues are rectified quickly and without some of eye rolling experienced at other establishments. The food is of a good standard and service is polite and brisk. As a business hotel it ticks all the boxes for me.

Nothing to complain about really - I had a couple of small niggles but it did not impact on my stay and when reported they were met with and apology and I am certain they will be fixed promptly.

Ample free parking, good value for money, clean and comfortable. Good sized room, had everything needed although some biscuits on the tea tray would have been appreciated.

We have stayed before, the staff were Friendly and accommodating but seemed understaffed ( rushing around having to do multiple roles). The whole place needs updating especially the corridors with some attention also needed in bedroom. We declined breakfast at over £15 each. This hotel works for us visiting family in the area but don't think I'd choose for a special occasion or a holiday. Just a few changes could make such a difference!

Due to a medical condition and change to my original plans, the weekend did take a bit of a downward turn. However the staff went over and above in every way. They couldn't have been more helpful. Bar/Restaurant staff were wonderful. I am rather tempted to make another trip to Grimsby, just so that I can stay at the Millfields and see the staff again.

The traffic lights at the exit which I kept ignoring as I didn't see them till Sunday Morning.

Free car park onsite, Comfortable and spacious room, comfortable bed, clean and spacious bathroom with towels and toiletries, Free bottled water, good breakfast, 24hr desk, clean properly, feedback form for customers, free tea coffee hot chocolate in the room, TV, friendly staff, great location.

Carpet looked too old and if it's changed the room will feel a lot better. WiFi details to be included in the welcome pack. Furry blanket was found to have some cereals sticking onto it.

Service was impeccable.. very thoughtful staff and super professional. They really look like they enjoy what they do. Rooms were simple but bed was very comfy and super quiet room. Had no trouble with sleeping. Very clean. Coffee and tea in the room and a fresh bottle of water was welcome. Gym was great as well. Big room but it has everything for a great workout. Breakfast had plenty of options.

The water pressure in the shower was very weak
