The view ! Omg it was incredible, we were in a sea view room which was beautiful. The location of the hotel is perfect. The bar was very welcoming and drinks reasonably priced for a hotel. Really enjoyed 2 nights in there watching the sunset from the outdoor terrace was the highlight. The bed was very comfy and had a great nights sleep. Staff were always pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Few issues with the room which were resolved and we appreciated the steps taken to make us comfortable. The stairs to the second floor is a struggle with luggage but we managed.

A Wonderful stay at the Golden Lion Hotel. All staff were attentive , polite and welcoming. When we opened the door to our room it took our breath away it was spacious and spotless with a large window with sea views and a large bathroom. On sleeping there for a week we found the beds very comfortable and lovely bedding. The meals were excellent of what we had.The town is very clean with plenty to do, On the day of departure we were sorry to leave. On our way home i received a phone call from the receptionist saying staff had handed in Two rings from our room and would kindly post them to us we received them 2 days later. Nothing all good

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Warm cosy rooms. Lovely views depending where your room is. Fabulous breakfast served fresh and hot. Car park at rear at £6 per night or on front for free if you can get a space. The restaurant/bar menu is limited and quite pricey but nicely presented. There are various rooms to choose from with varying prices and ground floor accommodation available.

For me personally the menu was lovely but too many flavours on one plate I would prefer a more simple dish displaying the true flavours of the food. For example to have pork and leek pie with quite a strong flavour alone to then serve with fig puree and mustard mash was a bit too much for me. This is just my personal view I would suggest you try for yourselves! It's just that we have such great produce/seafood it's nice to show it off naturally.

We stay regularly at The Golden Lion as it has everything we need for a romantic break. It's in an ideal location close to everything. We tried the new spring menu for lunch and dinner and all of the dishes were exceptional. The staff are all fantastic and make every guest feel welcome.

We really appreciate the private parking but some guests can be very selfish with how they use it. It's quite a tight blind corner to get out to the gate but people do park on the bend. We think one of those curved mirrors mounted on the wall would help drivers see around the corner.

The room was a little small. I think the bathroom may have been bigger than the bedroom! The facilities were clean and the staff were lovely. Parking was full so we did have to park in the long stay carpark and walk but that was only a 5 minute walk. We had a lovely sea view room and the bed was comfortable. We did not realise when we booked that the hotel was hosting an RNLI event so it was significantly louder and busier than expected but only during the day time. By evening time it had calmed down and was perfectly pleasant.

The building is old and has character and charm but lacks a lift so if you stay here travel light or youll be carrying things up quite a lot of stairs.

Every material aspect of this property was very good. The facilities, room, dining area, bar, food were all very good.

The food pricing was higher than the standard of the food. The food standards were very high but the price were higher. The off site parking outside the hotel was possible but hit and miss. Parking inside the hotels grounds limited and at extra cost. This adds up to be significant. You can park on the neighbouring streets or behind the theatre in the Pay & Display. This makes a Golden Lion holiday more expensive and less desirable than holidaying elsewhere.

Good location, very handy for visiting Sandringham estate and other parts of Norfolk. A reasonable menu in the hotel, and 3 real ale pumps at the bar. The hotel is in the centre of the town with plenty of shops,cafe's and restaurant's just a short walk away. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and it shows. The staff are superb and very helpfull. A good choice of items on the breakfast menu if you like cooked food. I looked at 2 other hotels in the town and I think that I made the right decision to stay at the Golden Lion.

If you require a continental breakfast the choice is a bit limited. A very small car park that has to be booked in advance for a small fee, I would have willingle paid the fee to have got a space ( the staff will direct you to a nearby car park or there is on street parking a short walk away ) .

Very clean, perfect location, room was perfect and the view from the room was stunning. Food was very good.

Hospitality staff let the stay down. We dined with them for dinner and breakfast and also for drinks and had bad experiences all 3 times. The young girls seemed inexperienced and just not bothered about providing good customer service. We even got blamed at one point for not having menus on our table when we asked for them the waitress said “well I definitely put them there before you sat down!”. My mum doesn’t have the best of health and really struggled going up the two flights stairs - I assumed most places had lifts these days.

No healthy vegan options. Think soya milk chai seeds fresh fruit muesli. Salads using olive oil dressings. Options like this are important for all Elderly are often diagnosed with high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. If so whole meal foods are very important brown rice brown pasta and whole meal bread Serve breads with balsamic vinegar and virgin olive oil. Serve pulses nuts and seed dishes

As booked, had a great seaview room (27), lovely pillows, nice decor and colour scheme. Lovely welcome at reception, very helpful in having a safe place for bikes overnight . 2 fans in rooms for warm weather .Sure it would be very cosy in colder weather ! Excellent location

Mattresses had a dip so presumably were not the newest. Room 27 has 2 external lamps right in front of the window . The lovely shutters blocked much of their light but it was a hot night so closed shutters meant no cooler air could get through. There were 2 fans in the room though.
