We stay regularly at The Golden Lion as it has everything we need for a romantic break. It's in an ideal location close to everything. We tried the new spring menu for lunch and dinner and all of the dishes were exceptional. The staff are all fantastic and make every guest feel welcome.

We really appreciate the private parking but some guests can be very selfish with how they use it. It's quite a tight blind corner to get out to the gate but people do park on the bend. We think one of those curved mirrors mounted on the wall would help drivers see around the corner.

Good location, very handy for visiting Sandringham estate and other parts of Norfolk. A reasonable menu in the hotel, and 3 real ale pumps at the bar. The hotel is in the centre of the town with plenty of shops,cafe's and restaurant's just a short walk away. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and it shows. The staff are superb and very helpfull. A good choice of items on the breakfast menu if you like cooked food. I looked at 2 other hotels in the town and I think that I made the right decision to stay at the Golden Lion.

If you require a continental breakfast the choice is a bit limited. A very small car park that has to be booked in advance for a small fee, I would have willingle paid the fee to have got a space ( the staff will direct you to a nearby car park or there is on street parking a short walk away ) .

The room was well appointed and in lovely location.

We always enjoy staying here and every visit is perfect. The location is perfect with wonderful views and walking distance to everything. Private parking is an added bonus and is secure with a code. The bedrooms have a quality luxury feel and are spotlessly clean with great attention to detail. The food is very high quality and there is plenty of choice. The bar is well stocked and has a great selection. The staff are all fantastic and make every guest feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and the warm friendly atmosphere is felt throughout each visit. There is ample space to sit and relax both inside and out with stunning views.

Absolutely nothing needs improving as it's simply wonderful.

Recent extension and renovation has transformed the ground floor of this hotel. The bar and conservatory are a big improvement and the ground floor bedroom seemed also recently refreshed. The restaurant is serving a more sophisticated menu

Some young staff seemed not sufficiently trained.. service was sometimes slow and erratic. Dogs should not be allowed to sit on the settees in the new bar area. The hotel needs to rethink its clientele and identity now it has been "upgraded" if it is to represent value for money/, Some very noisy people in the bar/dining areas.

The Lion is in a great location right on the front in Hunstanton, it looks like it has been recently refurbished. I stayed in a standard room, and I was pleasantly surprised. the bed was comfortable, shower worked great and the Wi-Fi was free and fast. Breakfast was a bit steep at an extra 15 pounds per head but saying that the service and quality of it were very good. me and my wife visited in mid-January, so the room rate was quite reasonable. There is free parking right outside the hotel but I would suggest you need to book if you are staying on a Friday/Saturday as non guests use the restaurant on these evenings.

Very pleasant gentleman in reception when checking in. Gave good information about the hotel. We booked via Booking.com a couple of months prior to our one night stay - two double rooms for four adults at a bargain price. The rooms which both had sea views, were fantastic. Really warm. Lovely huge comfortable bed. The bathrooms were well equipped. One room had a bath in it, which was great. We would have liked to stay longer and would have no hesitation in booking again.

We arrived late in the evening and found it a little difficult to park in the hotel car park but that was the only negative.

Lovely breakfast - choices of starter and main! Plenty of tea/coffee/toast on table. Same with dinner, food fantastic! The waiting staff were very helpful, polite and efficient, as were the reception staff and bar staff. Our room was spacious with tea/coffee facilities, lovely bathroom. The bar area was very comfortable with plenty of seating and a sea view. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us- we were a party of 16 people! They pushed tables together at mealtimes so we could all sit together. The location is great, walking distance to beach & town. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Extra teabag in the pot at breakfast - tea was weak

I felt the shower enclosure was unsafe. The shower tray was very smooth, almost creating a slip hazard. There should be at least one grab handle, probably two, one near the shower controls and probably one on the shower head wall. I was disappointed that the bar only stocked “gluten free” Peroni beer” and not the standard Peroni. I did see that most residents staying at the time were senior citizens, all with luggage, who struggled, like myself, to negotiate the stairs. I appreciate perhaps that it is a “listed” building but something like a Stannah stair lift to cover just the main flight would be an advantage to all.

Lovely and new. Decor is great, good facilities. Lovely bar, I did not eat at the restaurant as it was closed the day I wanted it, but was able to eat in the bar area from the same menu. I paid for parking but there is ample outside, which is free, you just can't guarantee a space. If you arrive later in the evening there is more chance, once parked I did not move my car so would have been fine. Parking was only £6 a day. There is some work going on at the back, a conservatory I think, but you hardly notice they are there and they are really respectful regarding noise. I sat in the garden reading and it really did not trouble me.

Although very clean, there were crumbs left on the chair from previous occupant, the chair just had not been pulled out by the cleaner. Also crumbs on the far side of the bed,. There was a run of something that had dripped on a wall in the bathroom, and a quick wipe would have solved it. This hotel is exceptional, however I think they are being let down by their cleaners lack of attention to detail.
