This was a fantastic stay! Genuinely cannot recommend it enough, for a little hotel in rural Scotland its an absolute gem with lovely people running it. So sorry the review took two months to write on my part! Me and my partner were here to celebrate our anniversary, as we mentioned when booking. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the owners, taken to our room and were given congratulatory Prosecco, chocolates and strawberries! Our room was clean, stocked full of hot drinks, perfect for a little getaway! The pub downstairs is super comfortable and the staff there were lovely as well, we made great use of the pool table. Pub food was amazing and huge portions. Locals made chitchat which was grand and we didn't feel like we were sticking out like sore thumbs! Breakfast was equally as lovely, a full hot menu and fruit, cereal, coffee and tea provided. I would absolutely stay again if I'm ever in those ends.

Literally nothing, it was amazing!

What might not look like much, when you walk into the bar to check-In, turned out as the perfect rind! Very clean and good sized room, good bed and nice bathroom. Very down to earth and nice host. We did the dinner&breakfast deal which was absolutley worth it. I had the vegetable tart for dinner and French Toast with fruit for breakfast and both were delightful. There is a busstop and a trainstation and a supermarket just around the corner (we are travelling by hiking and public Transportation)

Took us a while to figure out the wifi and the bar downstairs could use a little touch-up....its right at the mainroad but it was quiet during the Night.

Typical pub hotel except for the fact that the staff (owner) was tremendous with nothing too much trouble for him. The breakfast was out of this world and far surpassed many 5-star hotels I have stayed in. There was copious amount of fruit and cereals ( best selection I have seen in a long time) - the cooked breakfast was excellent if perhaps a bit too much as after the cereal and fruit I did not have as much room left as I thought I had. The quality of the cooked breakfast was also first rate.

The room was a bit small and access for my wife ( who has slight mobility problems) was up steep winding stairs.

The owners were lovely . I was able to take my dog which was a big comfort for an anxiety sufferer. The bed was amazing and I had a wonderful sleep.i would definitely recommend to anyone x

I couldnt work out the showered temp. It was either cold or boiling hot . No other issues . I had a lovely time.

Breakfast room was well laid out and clean variety of food was fine and promptly served by Martin, whose wife also supplied fine fare of in the evenings

Perhaps some thought could go into extending the use of the Breakfast Room to include space for evening meals away from the "Language" which can often prevail in evening sessions.

Met by owner + enthusiastic canine companion.There could have easily been a problem with accommodation as Booking.com didn’t advise owner of names of members of the party - That aside ( quickly sorted as twin room offered ) the stay was problem free - The breakfast spread was amazing - In all my life I’ve never seen better

We were made to feel so welcome & the team couldn't do enough for us. Lovely touch that we were contacted enroute to check whether we would like an evening meal on arrival - we did and it was excellent. We left very early, but there was still a great breakfast available for us, so we could help ourselves before leaving.

Breakfast choices were brilliant and very good quality The couple couldn't have done enough for our party They went over and above what most other hoteliers would go . And we can't thank Martin enough for the two trips to the wedding venue . It was very much appreciated by us all . If we were ever your way again we wouldn't hesitate to book with you . Breakfasts were better than almost all of the many hotels that we have ever visited. Plenty of choice, Porrige, cereals, Scottish breakfast, French toast,, fab coffee, rasberries strawberries and melon

Hospitality is very warm and welcoming. Room spacious and clean. Breakfast amazing, fruit yoghurt cereal toast and fully cooked breakfast also, including mushrooms haggis and black pudfing. I will definitely return.

I'm a big guy, so I found the shower a little small, but they have a large bath separate to room, so always an option.
