The staff are polite and very friendly. The location is perfect for us as we visit family and friends in Cheshire and North Wales.

Reported leaking shower cubicle several times. But not resolved during our stay. We kept flooding the bathroom. There was a trainee receptionist whose English was so poor in an emergency it would be a safety concern. For example - I rang down as there were no spa robes in our room. Despite trying 3 times to explain the best response she could offer was ‘you need the route to the spa?’ Every one has to start somewhere but as she also checked us in and didn’t understand our discussion (or the previous guests) I would suggest a less front facing role until her language skills improve. I work with a very diverse group of colleagues so this is not coming from a discriminatory place but safety would be a genuine worry.

Good quality products, the milk machine was excellent idea and staff were very nice indeed. Good tea selection. Comfy bed and pillows but staff probably a bit rushed in making it.

The finish in the bathroom was shabby. Poor grouting and poor patch up work in shower especially, and the TV didnt work. Towels seemed 'well used' - but it is a hotel, I appreciate that. On arrival, corridor had numerous champagne and whisky bottles, glasses and used 'room service' crockery. Was a Sunday so perhaps reduced staff, but a bad first impression that was a little like the film 'Hangover' in the corridors!

A little bit of empathy from Booking.com regarding the fact that a 2 night stay had to be cut down to a 1 night stay due to the fact my wife had contracted a virus and as a precaution( not wanting to pass said virus on to anyone) we decided to check out and go home. Speaking to the reception at checkout, they said they would, with agreement with booking.com, allow the second night to be taken at a later date but from the last email I received from booking.com you would not sanction the refund. So in all not at all happy. Perhaps I will get better treatment if I booked direct with Cottons Hotel and Spa instead of booking through Booking.com.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The breakfast was good—fresh and tasty—but could benefit from a bit more variety. I didn’t make it to the spa, but the pool and hot tub were excellent and immaculately maintained. The towels were fresh and clean, and the showers were spotless and comfortable. I’d recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and amenities, though a few tweaks to the breakfast would make it even better

Overall, everything was good however, the breakfast toast wasn’t very good and there were no boiled eggs available .

Breakfast was lovely, however, we believe as a party did prefer the last time we stayed with waiter breakfast orders than the buffet. The food was lovely but not as hot as previous stays and the personal service at the breakfast table made the experience so much lovelier than a buffet help yourself service. That been said it wouldn't stop me booking again but that waitress/waiter service was just so special and made the breakfast experience so much more special. Cottons is a lovely hotel so clean and comfortable but the old style service you offered made our stay so much nicer in previous visits... a bit of luxury and personal service is something we all love on special occasions. Absolutely love the white company products, dressing gowns, slippers mini fridge and kettle plus lovely coffee and tea etc selections in the bedrooms plus the fresh milk bar/dispenser on every floor ( I hate those horrid pots of fake milk we have to endure in most hotels) please can you return that lovely waiter service at the breakfast table it makes the stay at cottons stand out and absolutely gave it the edge. I would also advise your residence bar did not close at midnight. That's early for a hotel we had been to a wedding and returned just after midnight when your bar shuts... that's far to early for a hotel we had been to an event close by and wanted a night cap..your missing a trick there cottons ! Bar sales equals lots of money ! We were served a drink as some people made it back before midnight and pit the order in.

The property is surrounded by nature… Waking up to the sound of the birds is lovely… I love the swimming pool, the spa… The staff is extremely friendly and helpful aiming to please!… Appreciated Tim and James at the front desk among others, as well as Max is an exceptional employee at the bar an example for all in being very efficient, friendly, professional, and very attentive… He’s a real gem… I love that it’s so easily situated with access to Knutsford. It’s only a little over a mile away you can walk there’s a great garden center next-door parking is excellent… All in all I love staying there it’s my go to place when I come to Manchester Knutsford area! The staff treats you like family recognize my name and maid service is excellent. Rooms are clean. Everything is just very very nice. Love the free milk stations in the hall with purified water as well.

Can’t think of anything

The spa cost £30 on arrival, for 2 adults and 2 kids we checked in at 15:00 and checked out at 11:00 after a 2 night stay, we managed to get great use of pool and spa facilities steam room sauna indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi’s. Also got to use the gym, which was a good setup! Note Kids can only use spa between 6:00am-11:00am & 16:00-19:00hrs which was ample time, allowing you to get out and explore local areas. Knutsford is a must visit town.

We had dirty dishes still in room from previous guest, although reception organised removal straight away.

We held our Daughters wedding at Cottons and it was an amazing day made so by every member of Cottons staff. To say I was anxious is an understatement in fact at times I think I lost my mind!! Step forward the professional calm and supportive Jess and Alex. I cannot convey how much these 2 individuals planned directed and supported us despite my forgetting my manners at times not once was there an eye roll or even a raised eyebrow at my outbursts!! If you are looking for an excellent professional team to manage your event you will find them at Cottons they truly went above and beyond and we couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you Cottons for the memories.

I honestly cannot think of anything

A really beautiful location for a hotel. We were travelling to Tatton park for an event and it was a 4 min drive!! Hotel was huge! The food was outstanding in the restaurant with no pressure to dress up after a long drive! The breakfast was great top standard and staff were supportive of our dietary needs. Rooms were a really good size bigger than most rooms with a choice of bath and a shower. Don’t get that often! Loved the bottles of water and milk that we topped up at the vending machines. Saves on so much plastic really nice touch. We will be back next year for sure! Thank you!

The only thing, the connecting doors meant we could hear the room next door drying hair and talking. That’s literally it!

Just the perfect hotel, we loved the room, there was even a water and milk dispenser on each floor available to tbe guests, various pillows ro choose from. My other half had forgotten his toothbrush, but the hotel had some to give him. The service overall was amazing. It was my other half's birthday so the hotel staff had left a lovely surprise for him in the room. We also loved the spa, the sauna was actually hot, better than a lot of the other spas that we had been to. We also loved the breakfast, definitely worth the money.

There was nothing that we didn't like, absolutely perfect and relaxing experience.
