Queries were relatively quickly answered on Booking.com. Check In process was quick and smooth. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Junior Suite was very spacious. Breakfast was great.

Although the breakfast was great, there wasn't a huge selection. Security could be improved-as we were checking in, a foul mouthed lady entered the reception area and started screaming and shouting. Though the staff did manage this well. Price was a bit much.

We had tickets to a local racecdvent so perfect location. Room was lovely. Spotless. Huge comfortable bed. Loved the building and original features such as old shutters. Decor everywhere was beautiful. Evening meal in steakhouse excellent.

Disappointed with the breakfast. Very poor selection of buffet items no croissants or breads. Only orange juice . No choice of yoghurts and very poor fruit offerings. No hams or cheeses and coffee and tea in help yourself thermos dispensers which were cold. No muffins for the eggs Benedict, just 1 very thin slice of toast. After the fabulous evening meal I had high expectations. We were offered fresh hot drinks though when I asked for them.

My stay at this charming boutique hotel was nothing short of exceptional! The hotel’s beautifully retained period features, from the intricate moldings to the vintage furnishings, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The attention to detail in the decor was impeccable, with thoughtful touches like antique lamps and luxurious linens. Yet, the modern amenities—like the plush bedding and high-speed Wi-Fi—ensured a completely comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly attentive and personable, especially the front of house at check in and check out. I can’t recommend this gem enough for anyone looking for an unforgettable and unique experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Nothing at all

Room was beautiful and it's a pity we only had a one night stay booked after a funeral so we couldn't make use of all the facilities. Huge bathroom with a bath and seperate shower... We had booked a deluxe double but we were upgraded which was so nice. The bed was very comfortable and a proper king size We opted for a small breakfast but it was lovely. Staff very friendly especially Nico, lovely gentleman.

1. Speed of the bar average 20mins to get a drink, x 3 in the afternoon =an hour queuing. Bar Room has too many tables and chairs makes it very cramps when in the queue, take one side out, the bar is huge compared to ones I have worked in, organisation would make it better. One for the kitchen, when doing an English Breakfast never never deep fry mushrooms !!! Killed them

Staff friendly and attentive, nothing they wouldn’t do to help us out. Comfy beds and super clean. The bar area is nice to have a drink after a long day and the drinks are fresh.

We have stayed twice and both times there has been very busy weddings, this isn’t a huge problem as it’s a wedding venue but it can be very loud and unfortunately in the middle of the night there were wedding guests running down the corridor shouting and woke us up.

The breakfast is on par I’m afraid with Premier inns You need to think seriously if you want to fill your hotel . The outside Parking is atrocious. Moving suitcases ( needed 2) to the car park on what can only be described as shingle is a real let down

See above No lift due to the supposed historic listing Is an excuse The disabled act easily works with historic England I found 2places a simple persons/ wheelchair lift could be fitted ! The fact your Reception reacted so positively 1. Upgrading us 2. Moving quickly with helping the suitcases was a very clever move Those two points alone meant we did not give up and drive somewhere else . Your breakfast chap was on his own and struggling until who I assumed was the DM or poss GM grappled a cloth and cleaner and cleaned the tables as we finished our breakfast a young lady ( extra) turned up

Such a pretty building with huge ceilings which is made even more special with the beautiful flowers and lighting - modern twists in traditional fittings. All staff were really friendly, genuinely interested in making your stay the best possible. The food was amazing (breakfast and dinner) - such a special stay that we both loved

Noting - there was even a swing outdoors hanging from a tree which you can relax on

Breakfast was ok. Easy make pot porridge with boiling water added is a bit disappointing when in the home of porridge. Stove cooked oats isn’t hard and not expensive.

The hotel is not a good venue for travellers as - understandably- the venue is dominated by the large amount of weddings held there. Noise is a major issue.

We booked a park view double with walking shower & breakfast as we were attending a family wedding reception. It was a massive treat for us to stay overnight & we had been looking forward to it for ages. Totally not disappointed, it was fabulous. The breakfast was faultless & the staff really nice & friendly.
