Great value for money. Easy to find, plenty of parking space. Friendly welcome on arrival and shown to room. Room was very clean and comfortable - complimentary coffee, tea, biscuits, bottled water, etc - spacious bathroom with towels and excellent shower. Great beer and we booked (online) the restaurant for dinner - food and service was excellent. Like others have commented, the breakfast (included in the room price) was superb!! We just felt very comfortable and relaxed here..

Minor point - the noise from an air-con unit in the beer garden was a little too loud for my liking, but we could move to another table..so not a big deal..

A lovely pub with pleasant beer garden. Great location for our trip cycling on the King Alfred’s way. Staff were brilliant- really friendly and helpful. We arrived too late for dinner but they offered we could have a takeaway delivered and allowed us to use dining table. They allowed us to lock our bikes in a shed. The rooms are in an Annexe. We had ground floor room with huge accessible shower room and plenty of hot water. Very clean. Not a huge bedroom but perfectly clean, well stocked with tea/coffee, biscuits etc.

My wife and I had a most enjoyable stay at this quaint B&B. All staff were very welcoming and the quality of our breakfast was extremely appetising and freshly cooked to order. The bedroom was immaculately clean and tidy. It was a delight to stay in The Jolly Drover and we plan to return there later this year.

Our only small issue was that my wife had difficulty in negotiating the very high outside step leading to the corridor serving rooms 3 -6. I would recommend that a flight of 2 steps is formed to reduce the step height by half

Checking in early was no problem for the staff who appreciated I had travelled some distance, so with various roadworks it was difficult to arrive at a more reasonable time. The meal the first evening took time to arrive, but was cooked from scratch, delicious and by booking a seat ahead I got a free glass of wine! Breakfast the second morning was a bit 'Chefy' with being piled up and decorative greenery, but both mornings it was well cooked, the coffee was good.

Perhaps parking for people who are staying could be marked out so that we are not competing with the 'lunchtime crowd' for a space when trying to check in.

All staff I encountered were super friendly, personable and eager to help in any way they could. Breakfast was included which was a nice surprise and delicious! The room was secure, comfortable and incredibly clean. Great drinks selection within the room aswell, proper coffee was greatly appreciated!

Nothing major, the remote control for the TV didn't work and the mattress was too soft for me personally.

Convenient location (for visiting family nearby), lovely, friendly staff, great food - especially breakfast - cooked to order full English was superb!

I was lucky to get the last room - 2 singles and tailored for disabled guests- for whom it would be perfect. However for a much more fortunate person like myself used to all the “frills”, I would have much preferred a double bed with a more “traditional” bathroom. That said, if all I could get was what I had I would definitely do it all again!

Lovely comfortable and cosy room. Cold when you first get into the room at the end of the day but takes minutes to warm through. Fantastic hospitality tray which is topped up each day with a lovely selection of tea's, hot chocolate, cafetiere with delicious ground coffee, bottled water and delicious shortbread. The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay. I ate in the pub every night and every meal I had was exceptional. The staff are really helpful and accommodating. Breakfast - The continental selection is limited but I didn't want for anything. Menu is just a cooked breakfast, but it is fantastic.

The only inconvenience was the emergency lighting unit in the bedroom which was a little too bright. I prefer total darkness when I'm sleeping and it lit the room up a lot which did disturb me. Not enough to stop me coming back though!! Already booked my next stay!

Location good for our purpose and the breakfast proved to be a great start to the day. Having access to an iron and board in the room was a surprise. Hot drink making facility was also a bonus.

Room was cold, even though we put the room radiator and bathroom towel rail on (the former, we found out, was on a short timer!) and the decor bland, however the bed was comfortable.

For us the location was superb. The room was clean and comfortable with what you expert provided. The staff were all extremely friendly. The restaurant provided a superb breakfast. And our room was dog friendly and ours were made very welcome including in the restaurant where we also had a great meal with our family in the evening.

The level of skill demonstrated in the preparation and presentation of the evening meal was well above the average for this type of accommodation. A sensible range of dishes, covering most palates. Staff attitude to customers was positive, friendly and welcoming A potential accident situation outside in the car park area was rectified within minutes of being brought to staff notice. Much bigger establishments could well learn from this cheerful hostelry.

Live music volume was somewhat overwhelming and put my auto hearing aids into shutdown mode! (Friday nights only I gather)
