Perfect for what we needed, clean tidy, very comfy beds.

I would recommend printing your booking information before arrival, there is little or no phone service outside the property, we did have trouble getting in as we could not retrieve the Key Codes to gain access to the rooms. The pub was shut, but someone did take our call and helped us out. The pub is directly on a busy road so naturally the morning traffic was very noisy. Also note they did not provide breakfast options due to staffing. We went to The Chocolate Frog just down the road, which was absolutely excellent.

The room was small but well decorated Clean and pretty . The bathroom was very good. The restaurant was lovely and the food and the waiting staff were excellent

The reason I haven’t put and excellent was that the room overlooked the car park and the main road which is very busy and noisy. We had to have the window open as it was so hot and the noise from the road was intrusive . The room itself was very hot but we are aware this was beyond the staff to order the weather!

The location was perfect for me as I was doing the Brutal run 10k on the Saturday so it was handy for the bus but still in a beautiful countryside setting, the bed was fairly comfortable for a much needed pre race sleep and it was nice to have a courtesy cup of tea

the only slight annoyance was the big fan for the aircon directly outside my window which was rather loud but at least it was switched off at night so I still got a good nights sleep

Easy to park and private access to the accommodation which can also be accessed from inside the pub. The pub is quite busy and very pleasant. The food is not cheap but is very nice and represents good value for money with a fairly extensive menu and we ate there both evenings. The staff were friendly particularly the Landlady who was helpful and friendly.

A few minor things the biggest of which is that the WiFi is not powerful enough to work in the room even although the book in the room gave details how to log on. As there is very little phone signal and we had left the kids with a relative while we attended a funeral we felt a bit remote. The pub does not offer breakfast which is unfortunate as there is nowhere in the village to buy breakfast although there is a small fridge so we were able to purchase items in the next town and keep them fresh for breakfast. There are basic tea and coffee making facilities in the room but the kettle doesn’t fit under the tap so a small jug would be a welcome addition. The room was a decent size and functional without being spectacular.

Easy location for our Pilgrims Way walk (near A31 for collections and drop offs). Easy entry to accommodation - key lock fully explained (code arrived on day of arrival), room large, very quiet, tea, coffee and small fridge. Good food served in Pub, happy staff. Easy parking. Oh and any CPAP users, good socked located next to bed.

Our shower - not sure if working correctly in Room 4, but used friends in Room 3 seemed to have far more pressure.

Nice place, clean and comfortable rooms, pleasant staff and good food.

1st night they had a pub quiz in the bar, there were only three teams playing, it’s not a big place and they had the mikes turned up so loud that conversation for those eating was impossible, most of the place emptied out within 15mins of the quiz starting. 2nd night no quiz nice meal and proper conversation around the table.

A glorious English country pub about an hour away from Heathrow, and very close to Jane Austen’s house. The whole place is thoroughly lovely. You expect Mr Darcy to ride into the pub yard any minute. it suited us completely. The nearby walks are really good. Also, I can’t remember a place where Lisa and I were so warmly welcomed by the locals.

I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like anything about this place but visitors should know that you need a car, and that travelling on narrow English country roads is not for the faint hearted. They don’t serve breakfast, which is easily enough obtained in nearby Alton, two miles away. The phone coverage is awful, and the internet is only accessible from the bar which is open for limited hours, and then inhabited by raucous and extremely friendly locals. Don’t let any of that keep you away. This place is a treasure.

Nice cosy room set in beautiful countryside. Self checkin process was smooth and the room was comfy and well furnished. Considering it was an ensuite the room was a good price too, can definitely reccomend for a short stay. On a slightly unrelated note, the pub is also very nice and we had an incredible roast dinner there.

Although most of the room was clean, on the floor under the bed there looked to be crumbs on the floor from something. Also the water pump in the ensuite is a little loud.

We liked the room which was clean and comfortable, the coffee maker, the hosts were welcoming and kind to the dog, loved the beer garden and ample parking with good walks nearby. Good selection of beers and the food was excellent. Appreciated the messages through the booking.com regarding check-in.

The bar was a series of dining rooms without a lounge or games room, so was not so relaxing to sit and drink in, it felt like we were in the way once the diners left. The bathroom sink was rather small.

Very easy in every respect. No contact with staff so unable to comment on that. Just one observation; there was no easy chair in the room. An upright chair and small table to work at were all the furniture apart from bed and bedside tables. Bathroom was excellent. Bed was excellent. Thank you.
