Easy to find and park. Room was clean and value for money. Lots of pillows. Fresh linen. Tea and coffee. I would stay again as it met what I wanted and expected.

Mattress had seen better days and room was very hot. Fan supplied in room was tiny and nowhere to place it so it would keep you cool in bed. Handover of keys was rudimentary. No explanation of what facilities were available, what to do with keys when leaving, what upgrades were available eg breakfast or evening meal, etc. Sink in bathroom was very small, so made having a shave impossible without splashing water everywhere. Easy enough to wipe it off the floor with towels afterwards, but I did feel guilty about leaving a mess.

The location was spot on for me. Check-in was easy - just go to the bar. Room was great with a window. The evening menu was great and the food was freshly cooked and delicious, All the staff I met were friendly and knowledgeable. My Full English cooked breakfast was awesome and cooked to order. I only had the standard breakfast and found that was plenty, though there were bigger breakfast options. Not too far to walk from Alton train station, though taxis are available if you don't want to walk. The Crown Inn is situated on the corner of High Street & Church Street. Off street parking is available directly behind the hotel off Church Street.

The electric sockets in my room were a bit different to the norm, in that they were all RCD sockets and to get them to operate when you plug in a standard uk 3-pin plug, you have to press the red/orange button first & reset the circuit breaker, before any electricity can be used. This isn't a problem if you know how they work and though they're a bit unusual, in an old historic building like this, I'm not surprised. The TV wasn't receiving signal, but that didn't really matter at all. Supposedly this hotel has a couple of ghosts, that you may meet during your stay, though I didn't see/hear anything untoward. I did stroke the friendly dog at breakfast, as he sat by my foot, he was cute, but he didn't eat the tidbit I dropped for him though.

A lovely old fashioned pub with rooms dating back to the 15th century, so very quirky. Easy check in and full access after hours, on the high street, small car park (get in early) warm room with large windows offering plenty of light, hot consistant shower, very clean bed sheets and comfy pillows, typical pub downstairs with food served throughout the day. Basic tea and coffee, iron on request. Excellent value considering other fancier sites in the area for treble the cost.

Minimal noise from traffic normal but the mattress in room 10 was a surprise. Luckily my beer belly filled the crater that i got when i sat on it. Very easy to remedy Katie x

Large spacious room with comfortable beds, low beams, and an old-world feel to it. Quaint 'Hobbit' sized door to get into the room. Very clean.

Bathroom/shower rather small in comparison and dated. Proper crockery would have been nice for the tea/ coffee making instead of paper cups. Bar had limited drinks. Small car park.

Leaving after such a short stay. I wish the price for an extended stay would stay the same as I was on a tight budget. I thank you all with huge appreciation. Delicious and generous helpings other than breakfast Wow the roasts looked to die for ! Next time that will be my treat.

It was lovely and very good value for money, the staff were extremely friendly and it was located in a great location. there was also an option to purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner.

the room was quite hot and the fan provided did not sufficiently cool the room down. it also would have been ideal to provide a hairdryer like other hotels do.

Very clean room. Excellently presented. Plenty of room. Good bathroom with hand and shower soap dispensers, tea&coffee in the room. Excellent food reasonably priced

No real dislikes but parking was limited at the hotel although a car park available across the road. It is a lively and friendly pub so don’t expect total silence. These are only comments no complaints

Breakfast was cooked to order and taken in the pub bar/restaurant . It was very good and great value for money

This an old coaching in. The provision of adding en suite facilities in each room has necessarily reduced the size of the room. The room was adequate for a short stay as we had but I would not consider it for a longer vacation location.

TV was too high on wall and couldn’t see much at all. We happened to be there on Saturday, DJ night, so music was very loud till midnight. They had warned us and it was fine except for a bit of base noise in the room.

The Crown has some old style charm, not the most modern but my room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast excellent. For a cheap 1 night stay it was perfect. On site parking and easy walking distance to the Mid Hants Railway.

Nothing to fault.
