Don't expect a boutique hotel. It's a beautiful, Victorian hotel, situated right on the seafront and has spectacular views of the bay. It's excellently placed for a stroll on the pier and a walk through the lovely town. The staff were terrific - they were polite and helpful. The bedroom was basic, but perfectly functional. The bathroom was dated, but it all worked - that's the main thing. The entertainment - in this case, Ging-a-Ling - were absolutely wonderful. Sure, they catered for a crowd of mainly OAPs, but their style was great and the songs were all known classics from the 1950s to modern ones, too - in other words, varied and terrific. If I were to stay in Llandudno again, I'd pick The Somerset.

We were told that we couldn't have evening dinner in the hotel - but that was because the room was only to accommodate those on coach holidays, and due to Covid-19 the room was set up accordingly. Mind, there are loads of terrific eat-outs in Llandudno, so that wasn't a problem.

WiFi was awful and only available in reception and TV was too small for the room.struggled to read anything when sitting in bed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances cafe wasnt open and bar didn’t open in the day so nowhere to get a drink in the hotel during the day.
