Lovely place for the money!! Don’t listen to the bad reviews we were happy. The gents on arrival were very welcoming, helpful & warm, clear information & check in was easy. Felt relaxed & at home. Our room was very spacious with lots of storage if you were staying a while all drawers etc were clean & room was well equipped with hot drinks facilities & lamps, TV etc. I’m sure if we had needed anything the owners would have been happy to help but we didn’t ask for anything. They were cleaning all communal areas when we arrived & it was fresh & clean. Could be viewed as dated but that’s what I expected for such a historic hotel - they have done a great job!! Excellent for what we paid can’t fault it. Lovely fresh large towels & clean bedding made beautifully. Parking was free on the sea front we arrived on a Saturday so took a little while but that was expected.

Possibly intricate cleaning of taps / crevices / toilet seat hinges etc if you wanted to be picky but satisfactorily surface clean & I wouldn’t have complained.

We didn't have the breakfast as only continental an option and the view from our room was a side sea room view. Our room was on the ground floor and a member of staff carried our luggage to the room. We were able to bring our small dog for an extra £10. Our double room was spacious with a large double bed, which was comfortable and also a comfortable couch. Tea/ coffee/milk sachets provided on a tray with a kettle. You are given a code to put in at the front door to be able to get in.

The bar wasn't open. And I think the front garden outside could do with a little make over to make it more appealing to sit outside and appreciate the seaview across the road. But the owners have only had the property a few weeks and are probably still working on improvements

The very warm welcome we received upon arrival and each time we had breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were very polite, extremely pleasant and professional. My assistance dog was equally treated like a genuinely welcomed guest, which is very important to me.. The seaview from our bedrooms was amazing.

Was attending a Paul Weller concert at the venue centre on the sea front , so wanted somewhere close to that . The minor hotel was less than a 5 min walk so was ideal . Single room , nice and tidy, staff very friendly . Only stayed one night and only stayed in the room to sleep really , so can't comment on any of the other part of the hotel as was out bright and early in the morning . Was ideal accommodation for my needs. Would stay again.

Really spacious room with a lovely sea view. The bed was comfortable although very squeaky! We slept really well. A few crumbs on the carpet and bath could do with a wipe. But overall a decent stay and worth the money :)

Could have done with a hoover and a wipe down but would maybe bother others more than it bothered us

There was no lift but staff made sure we had a room we could easily get to. No full English breakfast only continental but plenty of it and it made a lovely change from fried food every morning

Location, room size, bed size and sea view. For the price you can't find anything better. I read many negative comments, which I disagree with. The hotel is a 3 stars, with amazing sea view, location for a very reasonable price compared to other hotels nearby. You pay what you get and I was extremely pleased with my room.

The location was great. Plenty of spaces available to park roadside right next to the hotel. We had a double aspect sea view with beautiful wooden furniture.

The bathroom needed an upgrade! The mattress was very thin and very uncomfortable 🥴

Only one street between the hotel and the beach. Nice hotel bar, but only open after 17:00.

Can't get first breakfast, because they didn't check in the correct name!

Really welcoming and friendly. The room was great, we stayed for 3 nights. We had our towels and bins changed daily. We took a dog as well
