Lovely staff and very cute space, great location in Chelsea. Little tea pot with coffee and tea in the room, and the breakfast is simple but really nice. Comfortable bed, not too hot or cold, what more could you want! Also a little garden out back. Great value.

Our room was a little small but you get what you pay for! Also there are A LOT OF STAIRS and no elevator (to my knowledge) - so keep in mind if that might be an issue for you. It wasn't an issue for me because I love stairs and I love going up and down all day long.

We had a fantastic stay! Our room was small but wonderfully cozy, and the bed was very comfortable, also enjoyed that there is a kettle. We loved the hotel's charming, slightly vintage vibe - very characteristic. Breakfast was a nice, offering tea, coffee, eggs, beans, toast with butter and jam - simple but satisfying. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, we e.g. could leave our suitcases on the last day. The location was peaceful, just a short walk from the Thames and Battersea Park, with easy access to the Tube and city center via buses along King's Road. We’d definitely stay again!

Honestly, everything was great! For longer stays, a bit more space might be nice, but it wasn’t an issue for us. A slightly extended breakfast window would be a welcome addition. The instant coffee in the room could be of better quality, or perhaps it was just a little past its prime. But overall, no real complaints!

This is one of the few places I hadn't yet tried in the neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised. It's an old building with old decor, but I found that quite charming, like stepping back to a London several decades ago. I wasn't able to check in by the time the office closed and they very kindly helped me with a key drop so I wasn't stuck outside. I'd asked for a quiet room and I got one, right up on the top floor, with quite a lovely view over the neighborhood. The shared toilet was clean and I didn't hear the other guests. Wifi worked great. I'll be staying here again.

I liked everything, but if you're looking for something fancy/modern this isn't it. There's also no elevator and the stairs are steep. It was not an issue for me, but good to know if that's a problem for you. I find the shared facilities just fine, but if that's not what you're looking for, this is also not a good choice.

The location was perfect for my needs. The young managers were a delight. I felt right at home. Oakley Hotel is not for those requiring flash, modern, sleek, up-market accommodation. It is a long-standing family hotel, with a delightful foot in the past. Full of character and old charm. The breakfast is good, the beds comfy and the showers hot. A short walk to Kings Road, or to the Embankment. South Ken and Sloane Square Undergrounds are about a 20min walk, otherwise busses are everywhere. I loved this place 8 years ago and nothing has changed my mind on this visit. May it never change.

Absolutely nothing

Loved that breakfast was included, it was simple, but nice. Staff accommodated any adjustments (like more milk or no beans). Getting a warning in advance that the toilet is not in the room was helpful.

The room was more utilitarian than cosy, just the beds, a sink and a shelf there with some very faded pictures on the walls. With the house being old style and creaky, it was a bit jarring that the furniture in the room is so styleless. The beds were comfy enough though.

We loved the building and the location. Great neighborhood, close walking distance to the Albert Bridge over the Thames which is all lit up at night. The facilities were about what we anticipated. My sister and I had booked a small room with 2 single beds and a shared bathroom up a flight of stairs. There are actually 2 baths next to each other with one of them having a shower. The water pressure is good. Our room was on the ground floor and looked out into a small garden accessed by sliding glass doors. We didn't go out but the view was nice. Our room was exactly as pictured on this site. One thing we would change if possible would be the strangely placed reading lights above the beds, they were mounted on the wall high above so you had to sit up and reach uncomfortably high to get the light on or off. The neighborhood is great for walking around and discovering small shops and cafes and has grocery shops with anything you might need. Close access to several bus routes and easy to reach tube lines. We were able to access everywhere we wanted to visit from here. I can't stress how nice this neighborhood is! Kensington and Chelsea is a great area and we'd had no idea how close to the Thames it is. Literally 2 blocks with trails and a very nice park right across the bridge. The hot breakfast included and served in the hotel is pleasant. The breakfast room is down a steep flight of stairs. I liked the 2 women who work there and made and served breakfast and serviced the rooms. They were cheerful and smiling and helped make our morning nice. We met the host when we checked in and enjoyed visiting with him for a bit. The hotel also provides a booklet with lots of information about the building and the history of the area. Highly recommend if you like charming budget hotels with lots of character.

Lack of bedside lighting. We had a room with two twin beds and we like reading in bed but the small lights were positioned very high above, requiring an uncomfortable reach to switch on or off.

The staff were excellent. They were courteous and helpful. The room was basic but had everything I needed. I just had to purchase the travel size shampoo and conditioner. The bed was very comfortable. The location is second to none. King’s rd on one end of the street and the Thames on the other end with Albert bridge leading to Battersea’s park.

Gosh, I could do without all those stairs. But I got used to them after a day.

Very welcoming (and informal) hosts and staff in a modest multi-roomed old-fashioned Georgian-type house. Freedom to come and go as we pleased with our own door keys. Kitchen facilities also available to guests who would cook for themselves. For the price paid in comparison to other local hotels or B&B's the accommodation was fine, friendly and functional. No 170 Bus takes you to/from Victoria in about 20 mins (depending upon traffic). 4-5 minute walk to the bus stop (depending on the length of your legs or the walking speed of your companions).. :-)

Breakfast only between 8 and 9am. An extra hour would accommodate those of us who are obliged to have a bit of a lie-in..

The staff were wonderful people and the area was nice very close to the river for a walk. There are some nice places to eat around the corner and the bus stop was very close by. The rooms were very clean and comfotable and we will be coming back.

The shower was the only problem as the water only came about 5 cm from the wall making it almost impossible to wash yourself. We did not use the shower much becuase of this. The breakfast was not much but was cooked well and good enough for a day in london.

It was affordable and provided everything we needed. We appreciated access to the Alfresco garden and enjoyed the breakfast. The location was excellent and in a very nice part of London.

The TV settings weren't set in a user friendly way. It was pretty run down but for the price, considering other options in London, was great value.
