Great location. Perfect for all the hospitals, shops, restaurants. Lovely little place with true character.

Our room this time was looked over by several properties on the opposite side of the street and the blind didn't work well enough so had to keep everything as closed as we could for privacy. Room also really needs a fridge, however small, for milk. Or uht milk portions. Lift was broken and as it's a townhouse (several flights of stairs) is definitely not for the disabled or elderly.

NIce hotel with a great location in Chelsea, a few blocks away from South Kensington tube station and very near to the V&A Museum. Lots of good restaurants nearby (Italian like Carluccios, Thai, Chinese, etc.). Personnel from the front desk and those serving (an excellent) breakfast were really great. Wifi works fine.

Room was small but OK (very little room for keeping luggage out of the way). Pillows unconfortable. Lift is really small, almost claustrophobic. But the worst thing was leaving money (1 pound old coins, which we planned to change at the bank the following day) on the desk and when we returned it had"disappeared". We informed about this to the front desk but never had an answer!!!

Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast in a nice quiet dining room downstairs. Comfortable bed, good lighting, well-selected individual toiletries.

I was disappointed that there was only a hand shower in my bathroom in room 33. The listing said jet shower: NOT SO! I find it impossible to shower effectively with my hand completely engaged in directing the shower head. An overhead shower needs to be installed! Bathtub was also unnecessarily high and deep: very hazardous getting in and out. The bowl-style sink was also impractical. A regular basin sink on a pedestal would have been preferable—but mainly the hand shower needs to be replaced!

The location of the hotel is ideally placed for the Royal Brompton Hositial(and that was why we selected it) and it's also perfectly located to Chelsea Green, King's Road and the Museums in South Kensington. The staff at the hotel are so lovely and accommodating, where nothing was too much trouble. The staff are really caring and happy to help at all times. The rooms we had were a really decent size, with lovely, large comfortable beds and the en-suite were well appointed also an excellent size too with beautiful L'Occitane toiletries and large fluffy towels.

The lift(thankfully there was one) was very small, really big enough to take two people squeezed in or one person and a large bag - so not ideal if you have issues with small spaces but it was needed as one of our party couldn't manage the narrow stair case to the fourth floor, where our rooms were. Hotel pillows are a huge bugbear of mine and I found them to be pretty standard and not supportive enough for me(but I am like Princess and the Pea when it comes to hotel beds and pillows - I don't blame Sydney House for my pickiness) - I always bring my own pillows, irrespective of where I stay!

The small hotel is located in a chic residential area, not far from South Kensington station, from where you can reach the city center in 5 minutes. The Premier Deluxe twin room is large enough for two people and probably larger than most London hotel rooms. For us it was convenient that there was no carpeting in the room. The only small criticism is that there was only a rainfall shower and no normal shower head (but that's a matter of taste) and the shower curtain was far too long (inside the bath tub). We didn't have breakfast at the hotel.

The rooms were wonderful. Old world feel. So cozy. The people were lovely and I happened to get sick while I was there and they were really wonderful and attentive. It’s not a fancy 5* hotel with room service but they went out of their way to deliver food and waters to my door. The woman in the breakfast room was so kind!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate their help and support while I was stuck in bed for 2 days! The people mean everything!

It’s a very short walk but would have liked to have been more in center location. Looks like the exterior of building needs some updates.

It's a lovely hotel in a great location Staff were really helpful, and nothing we asked for was a problem They provided fresh milk for tea and coffee in a lovely jug. No plastic packaging involved. Lovely quality complementary shower and shampoo Rooms well insulated you couldn't hear any noise from adjoining rooms or street noise Beds very comfortable Definitely we would return when in London again.

If I had to make a negative comment and it's not easy, it would be the rooms are not very big. This really would not stop me staying and we will be back..

Great location, perfect for the hospitals(why we go there), tubes, shops and restaurants on both King's Road and Fulham Road. Love that they have replaced the windows and blinds in Rms20&30 (both of which we have stayed in before) and had a fresh lick of paint too.

There was a bit of a mix up with our rooms - someone's belongings were in one of our rooms on arrival but it was sorted within half an hour or so. Bathroom door in Rm 30 doesn't close without getting stuck...probably the new paint? Soap missing in bathroom.

The hotel is in a nice area, South Kensington tube station is nearby. The location is great for the museums and, if you can walk one mile, it is good for the Royal Albert Hall too (a concert at the RAH was the purpose of my visit). My room was on the top floor, it was a small double but it was comfortable. The shower/bath room was good with excellent toiletries provided and the bath towels were soft and new and big. The air conditioning was the best that I have come across in recent times. There was a bottle of mineral water provided. There is a decent Brasserie nearby and Bute Street, also close by, is a small pedestrianised street that boasts a pub and some food outlets with outside seating and tables. The staff at Sydney House were friendly and helpful.

It is expensive, but hey, these are London prices. There was no kettle in the room, just a Nespresso machine. No milk in the room, but fresh milk available from reception - I didn't really have time to hang about so I had black coffee and a green tea (the tea was good quality tea!). The lift is still not working but the receptionist carried my bag up the stairs for me. I was grateful for that piece of kindness. My rating was betwen 7/10 and 8/10 - I decided that 7/10 would have been harsh. A kettle and a mini-fridge or UHT milk portions would have realy firmed up that rating to an 8+

The location was excellent, easy walking distance to the underground, museums and Royal Albert Hall. Various eating options nearby. Staff friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee and toiletries in room of high quality.

Although the level of cleanliness was high, it was dissapointing that there was a large crack in the wash basin. I did bring this to the attention of the receptionist. I would have scored them even higher if this wasn't the case.
