The location couldn’t be better, a 10 minute walk from Russell Square, 15 minutes from the British Museum, in a lovely and safe-feeling area. The staff were also great. Contra to some previous reviews, they carried my luggage both to and from my room and were consistently friendly and helpful both before and during my stay. The pluses in addition to location: The bed is comfortable, the duvet very soft, and the rain shower head was wonderful. There is also a refrigerator in the room, a rarity for London hotels and very appreciated. Would definitely stay there again even though a bit pricey.
Some downsides: Very small single room though the hotel photos were honest about this, notably so. No place to really unpack, only 4 hangers given. The hotel website listed amenities for each room but I learned that you had to ask for many of them like a robe and newspaper. It’s uncomfortable for a guest to have to constantly ask for things—first it was the hangers, then a door stop, then the robe. I stopped there, again, feeling uncomfortable.

Excellent location, in walking distance (10 minutes) from King's Cross / St Pancras. Nicely placed, overlooking a park in a quiet side street. My room was clean, decent size and layout. For the price I paid, it couldn't have been any better!
I was there only for one night, on a very hot day in London. There is no air condition in the room, and you can also only open the window a tiny crack. So even during the night, when it was much cooler outside, it was still scorching hot in the room, because the air couldn't circulate. Also, there is no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, that will be difficult, as the stairs are quite narrow as well.

Quiet room that was small but perfectly formed. Tastefully decorated. Very pretty building in the lovely leafy Mecklenburgh Square. Conveniently located for everything in London that I wanted to see and do. Well serviced by rail - easy walk to Russell Square and King’s Cross tube stations. Reception staff were warm, friendly, and professional in all respects.
Ill mannered staff member in the Guest Dining space downstairs, who might do with reminding of what good customer service looks like, or perhaps seek a different line of work that does not involve working with international guests.

The room was excellent. A great size and the bed was super comfy. There was zero noise from other guests or from the street. The sheets were great quality and the room furnishings were modern and tasteful. The curtains were blackout which helped keeping out the sun. The staff were super helpful and really friendly. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. It was really helpful having a small fridge and safe in the room too.
Whilst it was clearly explained that the hotel didn’t have air con this did impact on the ability to sleep well. The tower fan was helpful but was inadequate to sufficiently cool the room down. Because we were in a basement room overlooking the main street it wasn’t appropriate to keep the windows open, so the room was very hot and stuffy.

Our room was surprisingly spacious for London, and the bathroom was nice and big too. It's just a 15-minute walk from St Pancras, which is super convenient. We were able to drop off our luggage when we arrived, so we could head straight out to explore the city. They also let us do the same when checking out, which was really nice. Plus, Covent Garden is only about a 30-minute walk away, and let’s be real, when you’re in London, you do a lot of walking! 😂 Breakfast on the weekends is served in a lovely spot across the street, right in a beautiful park or square—it’s so green and inviting! Overall, I had a really pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s great value for money!
One thing I think could be improved is that the staff should be a bit more considerate about guests who are still sleeping in the nearby rooms, especially in the early mornings. When they arrive or start their day, it can get pretty noisy. Just a little more awareness would go a long way!

The room was very clean and spacious relatively to London (with garden view). The personnel is exceptionally helpful in everything we needed. The neighborhood and the street are quiet . The breakfast is tasty and is served in the college nearby (you need to go out for the breakfast).
The location vs. public transport is not ideal. It is about 8-10 min walk until closest bus stop or underground station. Especially you feel this distance when coming back from busy day sightseeing and tired. :) The breakfast is the same every day, there is no variety, so on the 4th and 5th day it was boring... There is no lift and the stairs are a bit narrow, just to be aware of. The reception might be in the next door entrance (need to go outside to get there), but most of the things are sorted by phone, so it was not a big deal. We could hear people in the room above us going around the room and showering... Bearable but strange... :)

Overall I had a nice stay. Room was very clean & nice & the single room is a good size for London. Had a view of Mecklenburgh Square & was handy to have a fridge, ironing board & safe in my room. Didn't have the breakfast but location is fantastic, so many cafes nearby. I recommend Half Cup if you dont mind queueing. Very handy stroll to British Museum, British Library, Charles Dickens Museum & King's Cross.
I stayed several nights & first night I had cookies & a can of water in my room. These were never replaced on subsequent nights when the room was cleaned, which seemed a little on the penny-pinching side when I was paying the same rate every night. But can also appreciate that running a hotel in central London is increasingly expensive. But I'd still recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, safety & great location .

We stayed for a week. The staff was very kind. The room was nice, with a good size. Tha bathroom was also very convenient. Very good heat system. The hotel provides breakfast - but it is better to choose (same price - breakfast providing by the hotel) in the nearby univerisity hall (that has a very traditional surrounding, wooden decoration, large hall) where the sense is so nice. Internet connection was also excellent. The area is quite enough, in front to a large athletic park - closest Tube station is Russel Square in 7 min walking distance (but also there are 2 other stations in 10-12 min) and some buses as well.
There is no elevator, so staying in the 2st floor was a little difficult. An information is needed before arrival, in order to arrange any different room.

The staff stood out to me. They were so accommodating and efficient. The location was in a lovely part of Camden, London. I took the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow directly to Russell Square and then walked 10 minutes to the hotel, extremely convenient. Uber pickups at the hotel were similarly convenient. I will stay here every time I return to London. Also, being able to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at GoodEnough College across the street from the hotel was a great plus; the student staff there were equally friendly and welcoming.
There is very little to not like in this hotel.

The location was perfect for us. Not far from Kings Cross close to Tube lines. Close enough to walk to the river if you so wanted. Lots of Pubs and shops nearby too. The room was a good size, very clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a bag drop off service. Breakfast was tasty. There are loads of handy bits in the room like a safe, fridge and iron. Lovely shampoo and things to use while showering. Would definitely stay here again the future
The room was listed as a courtyard view. While this is technically true, it's not a view you really want as the courtyard is a tiny drab area in between you and an office building. It's not very pretty but not the end of the world.
