Stayed at the Z when visiting London for theatre trip. Superb location. Room was clean and modern. Air conditioning was fab. Kettle in room was a bonus. Had a wonderful nights sleep. Will definitely stay there again.

The Z Strand's main draw is its perfect location near Covent Garden and London's theatre district. While the room was decent and relatively quiet for central London. For the location, it offers reasonable value if you're planning to spend most of your time exploring London. The staff went above and beyond.

The bed was uncomfortably firm, making it difficult to get a good night's rest. The room could have been cleaner, with particular concerns in the shower area that needed better attention. The noise levels within the hotel were noticeable, with sounds from other rooms and corridors clearly audible. Poor window insulation allowed cold drafts and wind to enter the room, making it uncomfortable and chilly while the air conditioning unit was also problematic, with an annoying light that stayed on constantly throughout the night, adding unnecessary brightness to the room.

The location is fabulous, the room is VERY small but very clean. Bed was super comfortable. Fabulous pillows, great shower water pressure. Coffee tea hot chocolate. Super helpful and friendly staff, bar downstairs and breakfast. I will stay there again when traveling alone for work.

The room was perfect for me because I was there solo. It would be too small for 2 people unless they were VERY VERY comfortable with each other. *get a room with a window. A closet or luggage stand would have been nice.. if my suitcase was open I couldn’t get to the bathroom.

It’s a great hotel! It’s very convenient, I love staying on the stand because there is everything near by, you have Covent Garden just behind and lots of great places to shop, shows and bars. The absolute icing on the cake was free glass of wine and cheese & biscuits in the hotel on a Sat night!! It’s was so lovely to have just before we went out for the evening ☺️

The rooms are very small, which I think you can tell from the photos. There is everything you need in them! Great lighting too! Just the bathroom was very close to the bed so leaving very little room to get in to bed. However wouldn’t put us off returning! Be my first choice now when returning to London!

The Z Strand hotel offers good value for money. While it is expensive, like everything in London, it's hard to find another decent hotel at that price in this city. The rooms are very nice and modern, the service is very good, and the hotel is well located, close to Charing Cross station.

The only downside is that the rooms are extremely small, at least the one we stayed in, which was for two people. There wasn't enough space to open two suitcases, and the bathroom was literally right next to the bed, making it impossible to have any privacy while showering or using the toilet. Additionally, they clean the room every two days, so essentials like soap and shampoo run out quickly.

This was a birthday trip and the hotel left the room decorated with a cute little birthday note which was such a lovely touch! We left our bags etc at storage and came to the room to find our belongings already there which was lovely. Staff were so friendly and helpful which made the stay very pleasant. Location is brilliant, so close to everywhere we wanted to visit by foot or short tube rides.

Room is small for a Queen room which didn’t match the example pictures online at time of booking which was a bit disappointing. It felt like more of a standard double so price paid was a bit steep. As a result, the bathroom was too close to the bed which didn’t feel right or clean. The sink in the bathroom wasn’t draining the water, however, the staff were very polite and made sure someone came to fix it so wasn’t a massive issue.

I booked this hotel as a last minute booking and wasn’t quite sure what to expect but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The hotel is in an excellent location with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants near by. This hotel is great value for money and if I’m totally honest has probably been 1 of the best hotels I’ve stayed in across London and I’ve stayed in quite a few. Rooms are small yes but cozy, very clean and has everything you need- fluffy towels, shampoo, body wash, tea and coffee etc free WIFI included. The Staff were all absolutely wonderful and can’t do enough for you. Even the cleaners said good morning on our way to breakfast. Cheese and wine night twice per week free for guests - absolute bonus. Breakfast is great with cereals, granolas, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, bacon and egg flat breads etc with teas, juices and coffee. We paid for the Queen Room which apparantly is a little larger than a double. Clean room, had everything we needed although very compact or "cosy" as my husband called it. A nice big TV at the bottom of the bed. Staff were very helpful at all times. Room cleaned every day and fresh towels every day. Plug sockets plentifull and in the right places.

Didnt like having to climb over my husband to go to the toilet during the night due to the bed being against a wall, woke him up too obviously. There was not much space to hang clothes, only 3 or 4 coathangers against a wall, therefore had to live out of our suitcase but there was no where to put the suitcase except in front of the entrance door so struggled to get in and out of the room. The bathroom has smoked glass all around it so not very private.

The hotel is in a great position right on the Strand. Our room was clean, modern and had tea and coffee making facilities, which I did not expect for the price. It was a small room but functioned perfectly. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet-ish after about 11pm. The staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful, taking our baggage to the room while we were out, after we arrived early before our room was ready. This level of service was not expected for such a small, cheap hotel, but it was much appreciated.

The bathroom door is frosted glass, which meant privacy wasn't guaranteed unfortunately. The door to the stairs was not locked, and the front door to the hotel was open, so I was slightly concerned that anyone could just walk in off the street, in the front door, past the front desk which isn't always manned, then go up the stairs to the rooms. Other hotels we have stayed in have locked doors to the stairs.

It is well located and the staff were very friendly. The room is simple but in a way that still includes niceties and comfort. The bed was pretty comfy and there was a kettle and a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in my room. The tv also had a great selection of channels and even included some sky channels.

The breakfast was a bit of a let down, when we prepaid for breakfast we were under the impression it would be an English breakfast or something similar but instead there was only cereal, pastries and a egg and bacon wrap on offer. Not an awful breakfast by any means but felt like it could have been a lot better value for money with more options.
