This was a late afternoon booking for the same night. Lovely looking place with a big car park. We had a room in the loft (apparently this was an upgrade). Room very hot but excellent aircon. Bathroom on one level and bedroom up a steep set of stairs. When we saw the age of the other guests I can see how we were offered an upgrade! (ageism- sorry). The place is huge with a lovely sunny rear garden. It is obviously a popular wedding venue and can certainly cope with the numbers.

Breakfast was disappointing. The table was not set properly. The food is buffet style but tepid at best. There wasn't anybody checking it regularly enough to keep the items topped up. In my case there were no eggs or tomatoes left so by the time the replacements arrived the rest of my tepid breakfast was cold. Is this a one off? I was reliably informed by another guest it was the same the day before. At 8:30am it was busy but not unmanageable and these are basic things to get right.

Very pleased to be upgraded to a lovely room in the Malt House as our first room was very hot. Good to have our concerns taken seriously and rectified promptly. DBB deal was very good value. Breakfasts were great, good quality food, wide variety and lovely cooked breakfasts with generous portions and prompt service. Dinners good too and enjoyed the IPA beer. Beautiful and very spacious gardens. Comfortable bed, large room with lovely view over gardens. Our stay was much better than expected after reading some poor reviews. Hurley is a beautiful village on the Thames and the Old Bell is a gorgeous, historic building.

Nothing. But a pity that Temple footbridge over the Thames was closed when we tried to walk to Marlow. Obviously this is nothing to do with the Old Bell. However it seems odd that no temporary repairs have been done to the bridge.

Nice, clean (and upgraded - Thank you) room which was plenty big enough with an enormous comfortable bed, room nice and warm, nice hot shower, tea and coffee making facilities. Nice breakfasts too. Evening resturant food was of good quality too and very tasty (Can recommend the Belly Pork..) Hurley is a nice village too with walks to and along the Thames. Henley and Marlow not to far away and easy to get to (but beware Parking is a nightmare!!)

Lack of lights in our room - lots of switches/blanking plates... but most did nothing..and only one bedside light. Food in the resturant was a bit expensive (but as mentioned above very tasty..) and "gratutity/service" charge is automatically added, even for two... Lack of choice of cerals for breakfast (but plenty of other choices) . We were in the new part over the road but with only single pane glazing it got a bit noisy at times when cars raced past or turned round/parked on the gravel car park....The dawn chorus whilst lovley to listen to, is a bit of a shock that early too :-)

Environment and historical significance. Good food, generous portions. Friendly and helpful staff.

terrible phone signals and wifi. Slight mustiness probably due to age of buildings. Dining tables were a bit sticky.

Quieter location. relaxing atmosphere.

Room 35. Toilet flush stop working in room. No leaflet in room giving Wifi password. Also no details in room of breakfast times. TV reception for GB News was poor. No clothes storage draws. Lighting could be better in bedroom. You could have either bright lights or none. Needs some mood lighting. Privacy in room was limited. Needed some kind of netted curtain option allowing outside daylight in without compromising privacy. The main curtains were only needed in the evening. A fridge would have been nice to keep drinks cold. Especially on a warm day like it was.

A Hidden Gem .. The Olde Bell is full of charm and history, but what really makes it special is how effortlessly it balances its cozy feel but with modern comforts. The rooms are warm and inviting and we had a very comfy bed. A peaceful atmosphere that made unwinding easy. The staff? Absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive. We were staying a couple of nights for a wedding but would like to return in the future to recharge and take in the beauty of Hurley

It’s difficult to fault but in the way of feedback, our room was lovely but hallways leading to accommodation appeared to need a refresh. A touch of paint and re-carpeting. Simply as this is first impression!

When we arrived at 2pm our room wasn’t ready despite me messaging twice to say we were coming at 2pm and the hotel replying to say that was fine. They said it wouldn’t be ready till after 3pm but we had to get dressed for the wedding. They did find us a room but we had to make a little fuss. One of our party didn’t even get their room when they arrived at 3pm so couldn’t get into their room til after the wedding which was rather annoying. We did also order a fried egg for breakfast which after half an hour never turned up. And we had to ask twice for brown sauce. Other than that the breakfast was tasty. The room in the Tithe Barn was comfortable but very plain. No pictures on the wall etc. Not that welcoming but mostly clean apart from stains on the walls so OK.

The parking is ideal, the rooms are perfect because they’re not directly on top of the pub. They’re in separate buildings next to it. The rooms themselves were immaculate, the shower was huge! The room size for us (we were two) was massive, you could’ve fit a family of 4! The pub section of it was lovely too, good old English pub with all the usuals on tap and a beautiful garden area for when the weathers nice. Ooh also I believe it’s all dog friendly? We saw lots of pooches enjoying themself

Come check out we weren’t entirely sure of the protocol. When we went to the reception desk there was no one there? So a lovely chap that happened to come across us just advised we leave the key on the desk. We were a bit unsure considering it was right on check out time.

All staff were very friendly, particularly the girl on arrival. Room 27 was very spacious and it had a nice outlook, in a separate block in the car pack. We appreciated the cans of water in the room. The main building across the road had a nice restaurant and a large garden out the back. The food was very good at night. I enjoyed the cut fresh fruit for breakfast.

The cooked breakfast was cold and the scrambled egg was very dry, as it was being kept warm using a Bain Marie style warmers. Would be much better freshly cooked. The tea was also lukewarm as it was help yourself to the flask.

Hotel staff were kind and accommodating. Our rooms were not ready at checkin, but we were able to have coffee/tea/snacks in the lounge area. Deluxe king had lots of natural light and a garden view, also good pressure in shower. Comfy beds. Lovely lunch choices and coffees. GF options also. Great country wedding venue! Staff were exemplary. Although a newer building, the wedding hall interior had a lot of the charm of the main hotel. Quaint towns and villages nearby. Bijan's Kitchen is a wonderful Persian restaurant nearby. Renting a car or using uber/taxi is the best way to get to neighbouring towns such as Windsor or Maidenhead.

Breakfast buffet food seemed to run out early, but the staff tried their best to refill in a timely manner... Ironing board needed a quick fix, but was satisfactory.
