We booked a one night stay after a long day at Lego Land. We have stayed previously (without our daughter) and always enjoyed our stay. Our room was OK - I think for the money and based on our previous experiences we have stayed in better rooms here. This one was perhaps an older one and was beginning to look tired. The air con was temperamental, there was a large crack in the toilet seat (we did mention these to the reception team) and the hair dryer was one of those fixes to the wall ones and no where near a mirror (so frustrating!) We had room service on the Friday evening and that was delicious, as was the breakfast the following day. I was really pleased to see dairy milk alternatives and the staff were great at directing me to dairy free options. In general the staff were super, however, we booked a child swimming session and my husband said the lady at the spa reception wasn't particularly welcoming and he felt they shouldn't be there, despite booking. My daughter loved her swim, but he said the lady's attitude made him uncomfortable.

gym was surprisingly good for a hotel gym, had quite a range of free weights and wasn't too busy, hotel room was quiet, clean and comfortable, shower was good, breakfast was good, check in and check out was good too

there seemed to be a few times where the check in desk had a very large queue, think that was due to buses arriving full of guests, had tuna in the restaurant on the first night and I think it was mainly from frozen.

The gentleman that checked us in was really professional & friendly. Room we stayed in was excellent and I would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice

The hot water at breakfast was in silver jugs with lids which in my opinion would certainly raise concerns for a health & safety officer. The jugs with hot water are too hot to hold the handle & pour, the handles are close to the opening so when trying to pour the water into a cup/mug the steam scolds your hands. I overheard many people mention this at breakfast. It would be safer & more efficient to have a machine that you put the cup under and press a button. I feel if you continue using the jugs then it is just a matter of time before someone drops one & therefore hot water going everywhere including on them (this nearly happened but it was just the quick thinking of the lady's partner stopping her from dropping it)

Staff unfailingly helpful. Any request dealt with immediately. The food on the bar menu was very good.

Dinner in the dining room expensive and not the quality you would expect for this hotel. We had two friends who booked for one night to meet us for dinner and they were very disappointed. The food sounded good but when a dish comes with say with carrots, you expect more than one tiny carrot! The vegetables were very poor and our first night we ordered the duck which was obviously previously frozen and too tough to eat. The pork loin was also inedible. Since the room was virtually empty a small section with say tablecloths and flowers at night would be an improvement.

My husband and I received a warm friendly welcome from the man at check in. Our room was very clean, bright and smelt fresh. We met a group of friends in the bar, service was excellent , as was the food that we ordered. All staff are genuinely customer focused and nothing was too much trouble. My husband and I ate in the Glaze restaurant on Saturday night, once again excellent service provided by ANJALY, the food was very good. At reception we received excellent service from DINESH & PRABHAKAD, I cannot fault anything at this hotel , all staff are professional, courteous and provide a 5 star service. All areas are immaculately clean. Highly recommend staying here.

It was perfect

Room was newly refurbished and very comfortable. We asked for a cot and it was setup before we got in. They placed at the bottom of the cot to make it softer which was a nice touch. The room had both a shower and a bath. The lobby was very clean and newly refurbished, our toddler loved running around and playing in the lobby. Hot breakfast was very good quality and well cooked. We loved the saussages. Staff was very polite and welcoming from the moment we stepped in.

Coffee facilities in the room could be better. Most hotels switched to good quality coffee making machines but they have Nescafe powder pouches in the room. Swimming pool has very rigid rules for kids. We couldn't use the swimming pool with our son because of these rigid rules around kids age limits, time scheduling and booking slots for kids. Pastries in the breakfast tasted like curry.

The staff team were superb. The location very pleasant atmosphere the rooms were amazing very clean. I don't usually sleep on hotel beds but this one was great and so comfortable. No complaint at all.

I think there is a fact you had to pay an extra £75 to use the facilities. That wasn't clear at booking, and if you were just someone who just wanted to get away with limited funds, it could be an issue. But that didn't change the experience, and I would return.. I think maybe facilities where you could purchase essentials if you forgot, like toothbrush like I did. 😆 but again, it's not an issue.

Beautiful location. Serene atmosphere. We were given the full force of friendliness by the wonderful Karim…. who made us feel like long-lost family within 30 seconds of greeting us! What an asset…… as a brand ambassador, Crowne Plaza have hit the veritable jackpot with Karim. I challenge anyone not to feel totally welcomed with this gregarious individual on reception. We have decided to return on the strength of his bon homie alone and I sincerely hope that the management of this lovely hotel are both aware and thankful to employ such an asset as he. All the team , irrespective of their position or task, displayed a similar level of interest in our well-being throughout the stay. Impressive. Very well done to all - it’s rare to experience such service in such a large brand. Thank you.

I bought my sister for a belated birthday treat. We recieved such a warm welcome by Karim on arrival which was quite late since coming from work in London. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. THANK YOU KARIM ❤️ The breakfast is really tasty with a wide selection of food. The vegan sausages are probably the best I've tasted anywhere. We didn't have lunch as we were still full. The dinner menu was really delicious. This is second stay at the hotel & I'm already planning when to book another visit 😁

I'd probably book a twin room so I could have the bed all to myself 😅

The hotel was spotlessly clean; the facilities and room very good; the reception staff friendly; and there was plenty of parking. Quite an ‘upmarket’ feel!

The breakfast was completely buffet style - absolutely fine for the continental selection and cereals etc, but the cooked breakfast seemed to have befitting around for ages - rubbery eggs! It would have been nice to have fresh coffee and tea served at the table
