From the moment we swept up the drive, Danesfield House felt like a treat. The hotel is beautiful, grand yet warm, with elegant spaces. What truly sets it apart is the brilliant staff. There’s a genuine, exceptional team spirit here - you feel it in the seamless service and the thoughtful little touches. It’s hospitality done with heart. The spa is wonderful - calm, immaculate, and truly restorative. We drifted between the pool and steam room, then floated out of our treatments feeling brand new. And the food was excellent, from breakfast through to dinner: seasonal, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Special mention to the desserts - dangerously good. We arrived a bit frazzled and left completely restored. Danesfield House is luxury wrapped in kindness. Can’t recommend highly enough. We’ll be back.

Our bathroom was a little dated.

The staff and our room location were superb. The staff were attentive. The bed was super comfortable! We slept very well. We were only there for 1 night for a wedding supper. The view over the garden and Thames were fabulous. Our meal and the breakfast the following morning were delicious and the waiting staff were excellent! We wish we could have used the spa.

The lift was out of service. However, someone helped us lift our luggage to the luggage to the 3rd floor when we checked in. On first impressions was lovely. However, on closer inspection, the carpet was very worn and threadbare. The toilet had trouble flushing all the time. Perhaps, there were water pressure issues. For these reasons, the price we paid didn’t match the actual condition of the room and lack of lift.

Stunning historic property set in beautiful gardens and grounds. Close to Henley and Marlow with bus stops at end of drive and frequent buses. Plenty of easy parking. Lots of interesting walking within the grounds or a good walk on public footpaths all the way to Marlow. We had a spacious room overlooking the lovely gardens. Spa facilities with good size pool. Excellent dining experience breakfast, lunch and dinner were all high quality. Staff were helpful and extremely courteous.

Nothing really except the fixtures and fittings in our room and bathroom were starting to look rather tired and worn. Plug sockets all in awkward places for phone/device charging. Also would have been nice to have had a nespresso coffee maker. But none of the above would put us off a return visit.

The views around the castle and the whole outdoor area were just stunning. It was like something out of a movie, and walking around outside was definitely a highlight. I also really loved learning about the history of the building itself. All the hotel stuff, like the pool and spa, was top-notch, and the place was super clean, everywhere. You could tell they really cared about the little things. And a big shout-out to the people at the front desk and who helped with bags. They were super friendly and helpful. The location is lovely and peaceful, even though we did need a quick 10-minute Uber to get into Marlow town.

My one big problem, and it really bothered me, was the crazy number of bees all over the place. They were everywhere outside, which was a bit annoying, but the worst part was they somehow kept getting into our room, even when we kept all the windows shut tight. It was a real pain and definitely made it harder to fully relax sometimes.

Beautiful old building with lovely grounds . Great views. They have not done anything to spoil it, all the rooms are in the old house, not like so many country house hotels where most of the rooms are in some ugly modern extension. Very nice pool.

Food and drink very expensive! For dinner £75 for 3 courses, excluding service and vegetables , so by the time you’ve added a few drinks , some side dishes and service , it’s well over £100 a head for dinner. Plumbing need a bit of updating , radiators in our room weren’t working due to airlocks but reception told us that maintenance team don’t work weekends!!

A stunning hotel from the sweeping drive to the interior full of history, an raf reconnaissance in the 1940s. The room we had to celebrate my husbands birthday was beautiful, airy and large. The breakfasts are fabulous not buffet style but a proper menu to choose from and waited on. The spa and treatments were perfect to just chill out. The staff are friendly and attentive. To top it off the hotel has beautiful views to the Thames and hills, with lovely grounds and manicured gardens to walk in. A gem of a hotel.

Having stayed a year ago, we returned this year for another family celebration, and the experience was every bit as good as last time. Very comfortable rooms with lovely high quality sheets and towels. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious; we couldn't fault any aspect of it, and breakfast was also great. Once again, the staff really made the occasion special and it was nice to see some familiar faces - they manage to hit the perfect note between formality and friendliness, and are attentive without being obsequious.

The spa was crowded, but that's only to be expected on a Friday evening and we were still able to enjoy a swim.

Lovely stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged a taxi into Marlow for us and also allowed us late check out so we could enjoy the spa for longer in the morning. Spa was lovely and breakfast was great.

Spa was quite small, but it was as described. However as it was small there are only about 20 loungers so it fills up quickly. Our first day we went down at 4pm and it was quite busy - there were no loungers available so had to put towels on the side. It was a lot quieter in the morning which was lovely, but all loungers had gone by 10.30am. We did go in feb half term and the weather wasn't great, so likely that these factors contributed to the business / more people being in the spa

Excellent food and food servers. The breakfast that was included was magnificent. The bar needs a bigger menu. Too few choices. The pool and gym were outstanding. And the grounds were spectacular.

The room was worn especially the bathroom. Shower bordered on dangerous getting in and out. Needs more wall handles . Couldn't see myself in front of the bathroom sink mirror. I'm 6 foot and had to squat to see myself. Toliet took several flushes to flush. Ventilation fan in bathroom did not work. Steamed the room up. Otherwise room was beautiful.

Celebrating 29th anniversary! The staff were amazing 10/10 experience. The light lunch and breakfast was really lovely . Swimming pool and spa area very calm and relaxing . The grounds were lovely and enjoyable to walk round .

My only negative would be the bed , I was expecting a double bed and unfortunately it was two singles pushed together, which was disappointing and uncomfortable due to the dip in the middle, so sleep quality was poor , I would suggest adding a couple more pillow to the room (if possible )
