Friendly, helpful staff, great breakfasts (we stayed 6 nights B&B via booking . com). Comfortable recently decorated rooms with proper air conditioning (not stand alone fans…)! Good shower pressure, plenty of decent thick towels . Thoughtful touches like fresh milk daily in fridge for tea/coffee, biscuits replenished daily, a variety of glasses for wine, water etc. Comfortable bed too!

Entry and exit routes are on a busy main road (Bath Road). Both need better marking/signs in the large car park when exiting and also when turning into the property from the main road. We narrowly missed a collision with another car entering the property from the main road but using our exit route from the car park…

Great amenities in the room like fresh milk, hot chocolate and proper coffee, plus a lovely little pillow spray. The staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. Breakfast in particular was superb.

Very friendly welcome on arrival. Bed was comfortable. Check in and out was easy and straightforward. Room was quirky. Bottled water in the fridge was useful. Didn’t dine there for either dinner or breakfast, so unable to comment on quality, but the menu looked good for both occasions. WiFi worked well.

Understandably the property is old, so I would think tricky to maintain and be up to the latest standards, but the skylight window was difficult to open and the shower screen had an element of dirt and grime that needed attention. Tea and Coffee was fairly depleted in the room and there was an empty jar labelled “Cookies” that hadn’t been replenished. Neither were deal breakers, but not great to see. The room was also above the bar area so quite noisy until about 11pm and then it all quietened down.

Ideal location for what we required. The staff were very helpful and courteous, and the restaurant and bar areas were great as my husband stayed in there for a few hours after we had checked out without feeling uncomfortable. In fact, the staff had suggested this, especially as we couldn't have a later check out.

The room looked like it could have done with a thorough clean. It was dusty on the surfaces, i.e., the table and where the tea and coffee were and the skirting boards. One of the bedside lamps didn't have a shade, and one other light, the shade was broken. The large shower head was missing, and the hand shower bracket on the shower pole was also broken. However, as we were only there for a night this didn't distract from our stay

From the moment we arrived, the staff took care of all of our needs. We got there on our first day quite a bit early, since we came on an international flight, but it was no problem for them to secure our luggage until the room was ready. Meanwhile we had a tasty lunch at their on-site dining room and had a short stroll around the nicely wooded grounds. Will, the proprietor made it clear we could order "Whatever ya want!" for the included breakfast which was very good and made to order from a menu with a good variety of choices. Carrie took care of the rest, making sure it got to the table. We never felt rushed and always felt 'at home'.

The only thing that comes to mind is that there is no thermostat in the room to control the temperature.. Understandable, since this place is a sort of historic inn and as such has a lot of old world charm.

Large car park, easy access, ground floor rooms, comfortable accommodation, pleasant decor in public rooms. All staff encountered were most helpful, pleasant very willing to help with requests. Very conveniently situated for my purpose. Nicely presented and enjoyable food.

The bedroom was very poorly lit, and the housekeeping casual. I had to ask for a bedside light and there was no hall entry light, as it was waiting for a repair. I had to ask for a TV remote. The fact that it was missing hadn’t been noticed.

Great location for us during a house move. Very nice staff, breakfast excellent. Evening food too although some things better than others - pie, mash and veg superb; chicken rather dry. Parking excellent, electric charging stations available. Dog friendly. Restaurant and rooms always busy which created a nice buzz. Room was large and comfortable with a sofa, quiet even if it was busy downstairs. Fresh milk provided for tea and coffee. Complimentary drinks in fridge. As owned by a brewery, the beer was excellent with interesting choices. We liked that there was another entrance to the rooms, you don't have to walk through bar and restaurant to get to them

Bed was huge but was one of those with a zip down the middle - not good! Bathroom could have had a few more places to put toiletries, there were no surfaces at all.

This is a well maintained, clean and comfortable accommodation with nicely decorated rooms, great staff, and beautiful flowers outside. I would note that the lighting in the room and bathroom is fairly low and the only outlet in the bathroom is for an electric razor. Also, the bathtub is on the higher side with no grab bars which can be a challenge for those of us who are getting older. There could be more area for storage in the bathroom for personal products. We would definitely recommend this motel and stay there again. There were several options for breakfast and it was delicious and the service was fantastic!

The welcome from Curtis on arrival was courteous and friendly. The room was lovely, bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities provided, including a small fridge with milk and fresh bottled water. The staff were most welcoming to our dog and she was allowed to accompany us when we went to eat. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious - the pies are to die for!

The only very minor downside was the lighting in the bedroom, but that would certainly not put us off visiting again.

We stayed in the well appointed Room 1 - Executive Twin Room on ground floor as my wife is registered disabled and struggles with stairs. Room layout perfect and easily to move around in. Car parking was adjacent and ideal for unloading. The bathroom wet room was ideal for our needs too. Sadly there was no hot water on departure morning so had to improvise by boiling a kettle. Previous night's dinner was excellent value. We both chose from the special menu. Well presented and succulent food. Good main menu choice too from which a sweet was selected.

The only slight disappointment was there was a hot water mal function on our departure morning.
