My husband and I spent 1-night at the Dog & Badger in mid Sept. The room was fantastic with a lovely comfortable large bed, quality bed linen, a very high spec bathroom, plenty of storage, small fridge and kettle / coffee & tea making facilities, plus air conditioning. There was also plenty of parking and check-in was very efficient. Unfortunately, the hotel was closed apart from accommodation - so no drinks or breakfast available. We were told / could see a hole had unexpectedly appeared in the car park some months ago and whilst it is being investigated, the hotel is essentially closed for business apart from providing accommodation. However, the room was very fairly priced to take into account the lack of facilities outside the room. We would most definitely return if and when the hotel is fully open for business again. We might even stay again if we need to spend a comfortable night just outside Marlow.

Very friendly staff and a fabulous room. The pub itself was unavoidably closed due to an issue with the car park. This meant we could not use it for breakfast or meals/drinks, but Ryan the landlord went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He upgraded us to a luxury room and suggested other pubs/restaurants where we could eat locally. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room door had a dead lock on it and is a fire door so swings shut easily and we accidentally shut ourselves out when half way through taking our bags to the car when checking out. Luckily we had opened a window so I managed to squeeze in. Our fault I guess but easily done.

The room and location far exceeded my expectations. I wasn't sure what to expect as I was made aware that the pub was under renovation. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted and shown to my room which was a skip hop from the pub and tucked away in the back. The room was very spacious, modern, yet kept all the charm of the old cottage. The bathroom was the best equipped with a steam room-style shower with changeable mood lighting. Bedding was exceptional, with luxurious sheets and down pillows. Wi-fi was excellent as well. Will absolutely be coming again and recommending to friends/family.

Ryan, who we met on arrival was so attentive and helpful. He provided information on the surrounding area as well as a history of the Dog and Badger. He also made some recommendations for food both in Marlow and in Henley. The room we stayed in was sympathetically restored with luxurious bathroom fittings and lighting. The doors we extremely low, which added to the quirkiness of the property.

Unfortunately the pub and restaurant were closed due to an unforseen maintenance issue with the car park, which was a little disappointing but we still very much enjoyed our accommodation.

Stayed in the Hibiscus room which is in the converted roof of the cottage. Nice mix of quaint wooden beams and a 'Hobbit Hole' door to the bedroom - with modern touches such as colour-adjustable mood lighting and quietly efficient aircon. Bed very comfortable and everywhere looked very clean.

No fault of the pub, but the bar and restaurant were closed due to subsidence in the car park. Would love to revisit when it is fully open. Drop of oil on the bedroom door would be good as very creaky.

Comfortable beds, crisp bed linen, charming old building, done up with mod cons, warm welcome, friendly manager, quiet natural habitat. Great retreat from the hustle n bustle.

Plastic toilet seat- thin and cold, too sophisticated disco lights in bathroom- happy with sinks and shower and egg shaped bath, key deposit box could be better marked. No breakfast due to unforeseen closure of kitchen would have been nice to have got small refund for breakfast portion to use toward getting own breakfast .

It looks like the cottage from the holiday from the outside and a boujee hotel on the inside. It is so beautiful, cosy, and quirky. One night just wasn’t enough. The staff from the minute you check in are so friendly, and went above and beyond in every way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We wish we had eaten dinner in the pub, as it is so cosy and wonderful. It is close enough to town with easy taxi facilities and the country on your door step. We can’t wait to come back again. All the team have done a fantastic job in making this such a great place to stay. So thank you again!

That we only booked one night!!!

Even before we arrived i had contacted the pub to see if they could provide a travel cot for our 1y/o child. Not only did they provide the travel cot, they also changed our room to a ground floor room that had far easier access for a pram than the room i had originally booked. On arrival we were warmly welcomed, shown the room and made sure we knew that nothing was too much for guests! The room was spacious and modern so a bargain for the price paid!

It was a little further from Marlow than it looks on the map, but some lovely walks towards Henley instead.

The rooms are in a beautiful cottage behind the pub. My room was beautifully decorated , with beams and a rather spectacular bath and shower. The room , was more like a suite. There were some nice touches, eg I was given a jug of fresh milk to put in the room fridge, for tea/coffee. The pub itself was quaint, but with modern touches. I enjoyed Sunday lunch, which was one of the best I’ve had. Another great stand out, were the staff, who were all charming, and couldn’t do enough to help. A special shout out to Miles, who made sure I was comfortable, and had everything I needed. Very impressive!

I liked everything about the property, but did manage to bang my head a couple of times on low beams… I am tall, but it was part of the extraordinary charm of the cute room…

The host Ryan was just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was so kind and gave us lots of great info about were to eat out and visit and taxi numbers. Supplied us with lots of tea coffee milk and fresh towels everyday. The cottage we stayed in was amazing. So clean and lovely. Thankyou Ryan for making our stay just perfect

Their was nothing not to like. It was exceptional.
