The hotel was in a lovely location and the grounds were a bonus. The planting of flowers around the grounds was beautiful. There was plenty of outdoor seating (we were fortunate to have sunny weather!) and the pool looked inviting. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We booked 'deluxe rooms' and the rooms were comfortable, although our request for a separate shower could be met in only one of the rooms we booked. The shower over the bath was not a problem for us but might be for some. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good - plenty of gluten-free choices! During the week there is no cooked breakfast but our continental breakfast was good.

My only criticism, which I did mention to staff when checking out, was that the carpet on the stairs leading to our rooms was in poor condition and could be a trip hazard. The stairs were also quite steep and narrow and a hand rail should be installed (they did say they were aware of this and were looking for a solution).

Lovely old world charm combined with modern comfort, Breakfast was a lovely continental selection of pastries and fruit/yoghurt, very good quality. This is an excellent place to stay after arriving from Heathrow, being only 30 minutes' drive. Unfortunately the rain prevented us using the pool but the courtyard, garden and premises were all very beautiful and peaceful

It was difficult to let them know we were arriving late due to a delayed flight so we were not sure our booking would be ok (it was!). We called when we landed and got an answerphone. In hindsight we should have phoned earlier.

Overall we loved our stay, what a pretty part of the country. We stayed in the garden cabin, which was clean, with a big comfy bed, fast wifi and a good shower. We loved the grounds and surrounding walks and made use of the lovely heated outdoor pool which was a bonus. Robes and pool towels were included.

The tea and coffee offering in the room was poor. No defined path to our room meant leaves, soil, grass and tree debris etc being walked all over the rooms carpet. The ongoing building of a raised vegetable bed just outside our door was unsightly and I feel until finished should be screened. We opted to upgrade to the cooked breakfast option for an extra £10 each. Although tasty, we had a really long wait, and I think this should be automatically included in the room price.

An outdoor swimming pool on one of the hottest days of the year. The room was large and had air conditioning. The bedroom even had a bath tub but to our relief there was a good sized shower in the en suite bathroom. A continental style breakfast was included. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. There is plenty of parking space and the gardens are very attractive for dining or just having refreshments. There was also an outdoor table tennis facility. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The hotel is in a very quiet and peaceful location.

Plenty of well-lit parking. Friendly welcome and lovely staff. They were very considerate to place me (lone female) in a quieter part of the restaurant in the evening and turned on the heaters in the cool area. Dinner was good. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Oddly long & narrow bathroom though (room 8) which some might find a tad tricky to access. The outdoor area looked lovely, and must be wonderful in summer.

Breakfast service does not start until 8, which was too late for me as I needed to check out by 7.30. I found the door to the main building still locked, but morning staff quickly appeared.

The outside was lovely….you can enjoy 4 separate spaces including the great pool area and outside bar - the bar/restaurant was shabby chic lots of nooks and crannies to enjoy a drink or coffee in! The bedroom was pleasant with good storage and a nice surprise to have air conditioning.

The breakfast wasn’t the best! Edible but not very enjoyable. The breakfast chef needs to improve as my sausage had no colour at all (although I gave it to my partner to eat!) and the scrambled eggs needed seasoning snd were on the sloppy side….although the bacon was nice and the tomato was actually cooked which does make a pleasant change from most establishments! Even the toast (not included but happily added to our order) was more like warm bread! It doesn’t need much to make it better

I've been visiting this hotel for years as I love the pool and the surrounding area. This time was no different. The food was delicious - great roast beef. The room was comfortable and air conditioned. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool had been improved and there is a bar outside and pool towels provided. There was water left every day in our rooms. For the cost this place is brilliant.

The restaurant shut at 5pm on Sunday and the bar 7pm. This was OK as we went to the supermarket and stocked up and sat in the garden for the evening but this only works with good weather. It would put me off if I thought I would have to sit in my room from 7pm. When I left - there were itemised receipts for £180 but my bill was £260 so I had to pay the rest on trust. I'm sure it was correct but I would have liked to check.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel On our arrival 4 weeks ago the property was at the top of the village, at the rear of a lovely green which has been left to grow for wildlife. Lovely setting, the hotel was nice Staff were polite and olbliging, bedroom was big and spacious which was lovely. The bathroom was ok. Pool looked great and the surrounding areas were lovely, shame it rained though. Continental breakfast was ok.

The bathroom shower didn't work properly. Cooked breakfast wasn't good and was sent back due to the poached eggs not being poached, the food was cold not good for an additional £10.00 each... The lady did mention that they had a new chef who does need training on how to cook eggs and present food hot. We didn't like that the continental breakfast was already picked for you and you could choose I think they need to re-think this.

This is my fourth time at this hotel. Fantastic pool area. Clean and comfortable room and bed. Friendly staff behind the bar. Bottled water left every morning. Nice powerful shower.

Not a fan of a continental breakfast, as I don't like sweet things, but as it was included I can't complain! A choice of a natural yoghurt instead of a sweet one would have made a difference to me. But I had a nice pot of tea and enjoyed the fruit salad.

Location was so lovely - drive up from Marlow to a beautiful village & just felt like you were escaping. Having the restaurant there was so good - hadn’t planned to eat there but on arrival changed our minds straight away. Food was delicious & the vegan menu excellent for my friend. For me the ribs were so good. The staff were so lovely, especially Becky- made us feel so welcome & looked after us, just a really lovely experience. Wished we had booked 2 nights.

Not a dislike but just an area that could be improved & that was a bit of cleanliness. Rooms were fab - great bed, bedding & towels & bath/shower etc clean but low down in the room - plugs/skirtings were quite dusty.
