Beautiful surroundings and room, and also located on the edge of a little village, excellent room amenities and fantastic shower/bathroom space as well as a communal space with a log burner which would be fantastic if you have more than one family member staying here as you have separate rooms and a communal space to meet within . Breakfast was provided by a little cafe within the local village and was superb, there was also local cakes/honey for sale within this little cafe.
Local village "Restaurant" was contacted to book a meal but we were told that they were "Fully Booked", we drove past this restaurant to the Spar shop next door and there was only 2 tables being used, obviously not as "Fully-Booked" as they made out.

It is hard to put in to words just how amazing this place is.... It is far from a B&B and definitely not a hotel or Lodge... Infact the experiance at Blackburn Lodge is like no other and quite uneque... The owners ate a couple who have Loveing put together a beautiful retreat within ( and at the sane time seperate) from thair own home with so much love and care you will feel at home in a cozy yet spacious setting in the borders with woodland and countryside all around you and a river running through the land you will have access to a riverside heated pagoda for an evening drink or social time and fishing on the river is also permitted.... Your room is self contained with beautiful facilities and even communal areas such as outdoor BBQ or indoor log burner games room.... You are permitted to use the large kitchen within the beautiful home within reason and the owners are so welcoming you will feel so relaxed and can unwind here x 10/10
The only thing not to like about black burn lodge is that at some point you must leave 😕

Very welcoming hosts in a gorgeous and peaceful place. There was no noise whatsoever, which made the experience fantastic, and the bed was extremely comfortable. A fridge for guests is provided in the common area, which allowed us to store some fresh food over during our stay. Unfortunately, we would have liked to stay a little bit longer than only one night to enjoy the sight over the river from the lovely gazebo. The hosts provided us with maps of the Kielder Forest at our arrival as there is no connection in this area to use the gps. They also send us advice ahead of our visit to select a place for eating out, which was very thoughtful.
Everything was perfectly as expected.

"The hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. Fantastic accommodation, especially for anyone looking to escape their busy lifestyle. There are local restaurants and a pub just down the road, with plenty of scenic walks available nearby."
"Everything was perfect—just a shame we didn’t have more time to explore the area because of the cycling event. Hopefully we’ll be back next year!”

The hosts could t have been any more helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, we slept very well. The shower was lovely and the bathroom, room and communal living areas were spotless. The proposal in a beautiful setting and its close enough to Kielder observatory to be a good location for stargazing. We were also able to do some star gazing from the grounds of the property before going to the observatory.

Our hosts could not have been more welcome or friendly. They provided all of the information we could possibly need about Newcastleton and the surrounding area. The facilities are wonderful and the hosts definitely went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely come back!
There's nothing we would change!

The breakfast at the cafe 10 mins walk away was great The lodge and gardens were lovely - although I didn’t expect it to be attached to their house ( an annex )
The fact we could not charge our electric bike would have been a problem if we had not finished our 4 day ride that day Hopefully they can organise an extension to the outside shed which I presumed would have an electric point ( but didn’t) in the near future

This is not hyperbole.....this is the best B&B I have ever stayed in, and I would be blown away if it's not in the top 10 in the UK. Hosts are great, very friendly and accommodating and obviously proud of their offering, and they should be. Stunning property, based just outside of Newcastleton, and the attention to detail on everything is obviously apparent. I was lucky enough to stay as the only guest for a night (bet that doesn't happen often) and had a stunning room, my own private lounge, my own private gazebo and beautiful riverside gardens.....everything inside and outside is tastily and artistically decorated. The only thing to be aware of is that breakfast is served in the local bakkery 1/2 mile away, but it's worth checking out in it's own right....some serious baking and cooking going on there. If you need a reason to come to Newcastleton, there are two reasons right there, if you don't, come anyway!!!

Everything from the minute we arrived and were greeted by Michael and Jayne through to departure and everything in between. Their hospitality was outstanding, very welcoming, and really looked after us. The house is at the edge of a little village and the rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The location was amazing, very quiet, beautiful scenery just what we were after, couldn't ask for better. Also the grounds are outstanding, a very pretty, secluded little gem.
We couldn't fault our stay in anyway. Jane & Michael were fantastic hosts, gave us all the information as where to eat & where places are, lovely genuine people.
