Everything was great. Darren the owner was terrific and the breakfast was amazing. We had room 1 with access to the garden and use of the dining room to watch TV and chill out amongst all the fascinating memorabilia. The shower was just right and the bed was super comfy.

The hotel was a good walk from the city centre but after a long car ride we really needed the exercise!

You won’t find a better value for money hotel in Nottingham. Room+bathroom were spotless, beds were comfy, breakfast included and made to order which was all cooked spot on. The staff were lovely and helpful. Not a bad word to say and will definitely be back soon.

Friendly owner, prompt attentive service. Plenty of parking spaces. Bus stop into central Nottingham literally right outside. Range of food shops right across road including a supermarket.

There were some very minor ‘teething problems’ (we initially were only given one towel between two of us) as the building was in the process of being renovated and expanded, so the owner was rushed off his feet. But these did not bother us and he dealt with everything promptly and smilingly.

Room was spacious, cosy and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great, had the full English and they were able to provide a vegetarian option for me. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definately stay again in future :)

Only thing was the traffic outside. Was fairly quiet between 11 and 5 when I was woken up by a lorry sounding its horn but that's not the fault of the hotel at all! If you use earplugs however this wouldn't be an issue as the windows do a decent job or blocking sounds.

Very cosy and clean rooms, attractive decor, excellent cooked breakfast, warm and friendly host, parking at the hotel was easy.

Everything.The premises were beautifully decorated with slightly quirky but great taste. A chain hotel it was not, but all the better for it. Spotlessly clean, very friendly staff. All good ( except the TV see below)

We were not on holiday we were visiting a relative in hospital so as we spent more time in room between visiting times we could have done with a television. We could not make the room TV work. We could not find a way of accessing normal programs, BBC, ITV, etc. it seems it would only stream digital content Netflix etc which required a viewing fee or even registration.

The lady that ran the hotel was extremely accommodating. She went above and beyond to help us out, even staying up beyond midnight, asour car had broken down , and my Daughters had to stay with it and ait for the recovery team. Needless to say they didn't turn up until 12am. My Granddaughter and I got a taxi to the hotel, leaving my Daughters with the car. It was already past 10.30pm when we turned up, but the lady was very understanding and welcomed us warmly. The car was taken to the hotel but the verdict wasn't good. We arranged for it to be collected, but the garage couldn't collect it until the day after we checked out. Even though the hotel only had a small car park, the lady said hat it was OK for us to leave the car there until it was picked up. We were only in Nottingham for the weekend, and I don't know what we would have done if he hadn't have been so lovely.

The only problem that I found was that the hotel was on a busy road, and I found it a bit noisy during the night. But I am a light sleeper.

We were greeted immediately, and even though we were a little early, the lovely lady let us check in. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the en-suite was huge with a lovely big walk in shower. Bed was nice and firm. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Price was great, and honestly wasn’t expecting the quality we got . There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel into the city centre, which cost us £2 each one way. Parking is included in the hotel price and even factoring in the £8 we spent on the bus in and out, is still better value than some of the city centre car parks you’d have to use . Hotel is about twenty minutes on the bus. Would 100% recommend and would definitely stay again.

There were no negatives. The property is on a main road so noise is inevitable but is minimised with the windows shut.

The rooms were beautifully appointed, the breakfast room was lovely with its quirky but very well done decor. The staff (mostly the owner) were attentive and helpful but not overpowering. Altogether a million miles from a chain hotel and brilliant for it.

Nothing and I apologise for the review I gave the last time we stayed saying a minor problem was the TV which we could not get free to view channels. It turns out I just did not know how to navigate the menus and the owner personally came to show us how to do it this time.

Two of our party stayed in the lodge, which is situated in the grounds of the hotel. It is a very spacious lodge, with a double bedroom, a single bedroom, shower room, en-suite toilet to the double room, tv in each room, comfortable sitting room and well equipped kitchen. Ideal for a short or long (self catered) stay, with the option of breakfast in the main hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The lodge has its own adjustable heating system so was very cosy. All in all a very comfortable stay. Pity we were only there for one night! Breakfast was served in the main hotel restaurant. One of the party had a full English, the other chose something else from the menu. Everything was well presented, tasty and of good quality. The proprietor is very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Although checkout was by 11am, one of our party members was allowed to stay in the lodge another hour or so as her transport wasn't until later, which was very hospitable of him.
