If you want a BOUTIQUE hotel DON'T go to Ryde Castle. However if you want FRIENDLY STAFF - LOVELY FOOD then please try RYDE CASTLE. If we are honest the whole place is tired and needs an update It is however clean and as previoulsy stated very friendly and welcoming.Big mentions to SYDNEY - JESSICA - CHARLOTTE - TAMARA - CHARLES - KIERAN & (sorry cannot remember the name but the ginger haired guy serving behind the bar)

The didn't likes - no prices on drinks menu for beer & spirits. ROOM 4 the windows didn't open in our bathroom Also no blinds in the bedroom to ensure privacy

The bar food evening meal we had on the 1st night was terrible Award winning pies were heated in the microwave, making the pastry soggy Waiting staff were petting customer's dogs and then serving food Our dessert order had to be chased as it had been forgotten, when it did arrive it was just dropped in front of us We did complain to the person in charge and we received a full refund and apology. Therefore, it proves that they accepted there was a major problem We therefore did not have any further meals other than breakfast at the hotel. The following day, in talking to another couple, staying there, they had similar issue with their meals. However, we were unaware if they made a complaint.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. From 5he moment we arrived we felt welcome and special. The hotel is perfectly located on the seafront within a short walking distance of shops, pubs,restaurants and the Hovercraft and Catamaran ferries. The bedroom was spacious, light and very clean. There wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere, including the picture frames, doortops and back of the tv. (I only checked these because I couldn’t believe how clean and bright the room was) The food was excellent with a wide choice on the menus. Breakfast was a choice of continental or various cooked options or both if you were very hungry. With free parking on site, free WiFi and a variety of teas and coffees in the room, we lacked for nothing. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful but a special mention must go to Chloe and Taz who went out of their way to make our stay a good one. On the first morning due to a misunderstanding we turned up for breakfast over an hour late. Without hesitation, we were offered whatever we wanted from the menu and a short time later, breakfast was served, including a freshly cooked full English. Although the hotel is part of a large corporate chain the atmosphere was one of a small family run business making for a great atmosphere and our stay very enjoyable. The Ryde Castle will definitely be my first choice next time we visit the island.

Shout out to all the staff, especially the ones handling the breakfast run. We stayed there for 2 nights and had breakfast in the hotel, which was included in our stay. I must appreciate the effort and hustling put in by the staff during rush hours. The bar was great too, had a couple of really nice cocktails. The food was really nice and fresh. The room had a REALLY nice view of the beach. It was tidy. And had all the amenities.

The dining room could really use some tidying up and renovation. The fabric of the chairs we sat on was all torn, which gave a really bad look. The quality of effort and service provided by the staff shouldn't be let down because of these issues.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Excellent breakfast available - cooked or continental. Good choice of meals on the evening menu, our meals were very good and excellent value for money. Good parking also at the hotel. Position of hotel is a short walk to the main centre of Ryde and the Ryde Pier. A very good hotel with convenient access to the main routes of the island and good views towards Portsmouth and Southsea across the Solent.

It's Christmas! - one or two noisy parties of guests in the public areas during the evenings, but this quietened down by 11pm when the bar shut.

Very nice property that is close to the fast cat ferry service. The room was very comfortable and the bath was very accessible. Despite not having 24 hour desk service, the staff were readily available and the site was easy to enter after hours with your key. I slept very well and feel the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dining was easy and the food was good. Nothing "Michelin", but flavourful and filling, with the typical selection for Pub food. Breakfast was very good with the offer of fruit, cereal, yogurt and breads in addition to your hot breakfast. There is a lift so access isn't too much of an issue, although not sure if specific entrances for those with mobility issues to enter the site.

Despite a very nice place, it is a Pub first and foremost. The evenings can be a bit loud and I unfortunately had an intoxicated patron bang repeatedly on my door after 11pm one night. The acoustics are a bit to be desired, at least in my room as I could hear the neighbours like they were in my room, sadly. But, still a VERY nice stay!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, very helpful and very organised. Even though myself and family were there for a relatives funeral, all staff were amazing. The breakfast is spot on, so much amazing produce and cooked to perfection. The rooms are spacious with everything you could want, showers are brilliant, felt really comfortable and at home. I cannot thank the staff enough for the hard work they do to provide a truly excellent experience, Jessica was just a superstar the whole time we were there, so polite, such care and attention to everybody in the group. What a great employee ! I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will definitely return

I stayed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day night to visit family who live nearby. Ryde Castle was very festive as were the staff. Plenty of breakfast options including cooked food on Christmas Day which was appreciated.

The hotel was far too warm. No bath mat available in the bathroom; you had to ask at reception. The bar was shut at 1600 hrs on Christmas Day which was publicised in room information. Great that staff were able to spend time with their families but not so good for those staying who may have wanted a drink. The bar has been open later in previous years after offering Christmas lunches to non-residents.

Despite the fact it needs “refreshing”, it has a certain charm. Well positioned for the beach, walking round Ryde and discovering the rest of the Island. The rooms were spacious, clean with comfy beds. Nice Pub grub type food for evening meal offered a good selection and nice choices available for a plentiful breakfast (pity they don’t offer kippers). Staff were very friendly from the day we arrived to when we left.

It’s a pity the lift only went to first floor. So be aware if you have trouble with legs.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, pleasant and peaceful room. Very good room cleaning- no grime hidden in the corner, or dirt on top of skirting boards, for example.

Had only one evening meal in the hotel. They didn't have any steak left, so opted for the award winning pie. It was badly overcooked, as were the veg. I was given a full refund, further evidence of the good service from nice staff, but next morning's breakfast bangers and bacon were also badly overcooked. Breakfast the next three mornings were, however, excellent, especially the eggs supreme!
