The gentleman who attended to us (in response to us waiting at the bar) also helped with amending our reservation, for 8 people to 10 instead and then served us at the bar with drinks. I wished I had taken his name, as he was very helpful.

I had advised them that I would check in both rooms between 5 and 6, which was confirmed by them, however we had to wait a little while for a member of staff to respond to our arrival. We ordered our food by 7.30 but our main meal was served, after chasing up about it, after 9. Quite late really, especially as we had 2 children with us. Some of us had been looking forward to a roast dinner, however when we were first seated at 7pm, they told us they had run out of Beef and Turkey and only had Pork left. When we went to the bar to order our food though, we were only then informed that the Roast dinners finished at 7. I made two bookings but only 1 of them was credited with a discount. This comment is for Booking.com rather than the Talardy.

I didn’t have breakfast, dinner on arrival was ok, good variety on the menu. What I chose may not have been the best option, it felt like a microwave ready meal

A little disappointed on arrival by the appearance of the building, as a lone traveler I was concerned. This was soon rectified by the warm welcome at reception and when I realised my room was in the new building at the rear. The room was comfortable good air con, bathroom was very clean, toilet flush kept filling but couldn’t hear it when the bathroom door was closed. The bed was comfortable, overall it was a positive stay and if in the area I would consider staying again no frills but clean and comfortable

So our stay was 7 nights leading up to and including Christmas day and boxing day ect. The first day was a quiet drink and a lovely meal, then a good night's sleep on a firm but very comfortable large double bed . The room was lovely and warm considering it was rather cold outside. And surprisingly the heating was controlled by oneself and was able to be left on all night if needed .It was a lovely spacious room with the usual tea coffee ect . Our room was designed for the disabled , the shower was lovely and warm with shower gel , towels ect provided . Our following days comprised of joining the A55 just a couple of hundred yards from the hotel .The A55 literally takes you anywhere in N Wales you want to visit. At night we stayed at the hotel for our evening meals because the menu was varied enough reasonably prced and most importantly the food was freshly cooked and excellent non of this overpriced frozen rubbish .And not too far to walk to our room after festive drinks. I can't comment on the breakfast as we don't have it .The staff were great , nothing was too much trouble . All in all we would recommend the hotel for short or long stays.

My only complaint is there was no notice stating that Christmas eve was closed to serving food . By the time we discovered this nearby shops were shut, luckily we had cheese and biscuits in our room we had taken with us .

Nice bar area, comfortable bed, surprisingly quiet considering proximity to the bypass. Playground and grassy area on site which the kids loved. Food was decent quality.

Staff were hit and miss, some were great, others aloof. Breakfast was from 7.30, granted we were there on the dot, but no plates for 10 minutes, and no butter for toast available! If it starts at 7.30, be ready. These are sort of basics that they need to get right. If they perfected the simple things I’d rate the hotel highly. We had two rooms, one the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied. The rooms did seem very clean otherwise, but again it’s the little things.

Room - needed extra chair for back support (I previously had 5 spinal fractures). 1 chair OR bed option insufficient. Asked manager but very busy Easter bookings etc but didnt get extra chair. No probs. All staff very good indeed inc. manager . Tim. We would stay again. 19/4/25 - evening meal, pretty OK but slopped on plates (as SO busy) ie scampi meal, no tartare sauce/lemon slice (altho offered lemon slice). No matter. it was a good stay thank you. They all did their best.

Poss a ground floor room, but didn't request it.

Very friendly and helpful staff as I problem with booking. Booking.com and Marston's Inn computer systems communicate with each other but not with booking system that the Talardy use themselves. All our requests on Booking where not right when we book in. The duty manager sorted with not too much fuss which was great as we attending a funeral the following day and we traveled for 3.5hrs Good pub grub Electric charging point was useful but slow as DC both out of order. I had to attach my own cable which is a faff

Nothing much really

Lovely homely feel to the bar area. The staff were friendly & very helpful. We were travelling with my baby granddaughter & they set the travel cot up swiftly for my daughter in law & son. We just hacked in for bed & breakfast as we were at a function elsewhere. The lodge room was clean & bed very comfortable. They were having trouble with air con/heating, but had left a heater in our room 105. This was absolutely fine & plenty warm enough for us. Breakfast was lovely & service very good on 9/2/25.

Nothing springs to mind. Our stay was very good.

I have had several meals at the Talardy over the years with friends and have always been very satisfied with them so I made a booking for my family's stay at the hotel. The room, friendly staff and facilities offered were the best we have ever received. However, since the booking, I have received at least 10 emails giving me the same details about my booking which is annoying. On Monday 21st October I rang the Talardy on 01745 799314 and spoke to a gentleman in Wolverhampton in an effort to stop them but I'm still receiving them today. Just stop sending them - Thanks.

See the paragraph above. Thank you.

Well furnished hotel with good sized bedroom - also had lovely meal in restaurant

Too many emails mainly asking me to check in on line but could only do this if provided debit/ credit card details - why are these required when room paid for? Also after nice meal in restaurant experience from staff dealing with special offer of liqueur with coffee on drinks menu left me feeling disappointed- they said system wouldn’t accept offer and requested higher payment -although after some time they eventually agreed to wipe cost from bill they were very unfriendly- pity as everything else ok

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and well laid out, breakfast was excellent quality and value for money the staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The overall feeling off hotel and restaurant area was a good feeling of warmth and friendliness. We had children with us and they were made equally welcome and they enjoyed every minute. We had a family evening meal in the restaurant and it was excellent in quality and the way it was served, and all at a reasonable price.

A very small niggle I would of preferred proper soap in the bathroom rather than liquid soap in a rather awkward dispenser.
