The location was handy close to access in from sheffield. The room was a reasonable size with comfy bed, bedside cupboards, hanging space, tea and coffee making facilities, and good bathroom. Breakfast was very tasty with good quality ingredients.

First impressions the rooms were outside and it looked like Butlins chalet block. However once inside it was fine. There was insufficient parking and the main carpark had no spaces at all. Thankfully when I phoned reception, the staff were able to move a post allowing me to park there, because I have a blue badge. I dread to think what would have happened if not. My friend arrived later , and he could park ok, so I must have arrived at a busy time. 6pm Saturday.

Was allowed to check-in early free of charge. Lovely spacious room, bit dated but it does the job! Very clean! Me and my friend were going to an event, and really appreciated the close-up make-up mirror in the bathroom, especially for applying our false eyelashes. Didn't have breakfast but was notified we could have had it for only £12pp. Excellent location, McDonald's is a 30 second walk round the corner for a hangover cure of hash browns and coffee if you can't stomach a fry-up. Quick taxi to Kelham Island and there's bus routes nearby to get into Sheffield centre. Beds were very comfy, slept very well, and the shower had good pressure, appreciated the nice shower gel included as we had forgot to bring some. Stayed here before, and would stay again, thanks for having us!

Really loved the building features and was beautiful to look Breakfast was beautiful couldn't fault that and service was great. Bar staff really nice and very welcoming.

The signage on the front of the building is damaged and really needs fixing and replacing asap it spoils the whole First impressions and something like that is very Important. Get rid of any modern furniture again spoils the whole vibe of the beautiful building. Needs a little more attention to rubbish and loose garden foleage around the outside of the rooms and general hoovering especially any stairs areas..... didn't look to good when going for breakfast.

The room was spotless, although decor was a bit dated. especially the bathroom. Bit 1980's But the shower was great and as I said, all was exceptionally clean. Lovely comfy bed. We didn't eat breakfast there, so can't comment on that but the fish and chips in the evening was great. Huge portions!

Room was a little stuffy and the only window to open was opening right onto the walkway,, at waist height, so no privacy and concern about possible security if it had to be left open all night . We stayed at the beginning of April and the room was warm. I think it would get pretty unbearable in the summer on a warm, still night. Air conditioning would have been great. We did find a fan though, but on our last day!

Room was clean, kettle and coffee/tea were provided for us, the TV is great for the room, the water pressure and temperature in the shower was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly and while we didnt need our room turning over we were asked on one of the afternoons while we had come back to the room. We dont drive but there seemed to be plenty of parking, and we didnt hear anything from the function rooms on Friday or Saturday evening. Public transport links are great for evenings out or non drivers: the tram is nearby, there are plenty buses at the interchange and nearby for getting around and into Sheffield centre

A small mini fridge for a small milk or other perishable snacks would make the tea/coffee station complete. The bed was slightly too firm for us but perfect for a bad back/back sleepers. Even with the radiators turned down in mid/late March the room was warm.

It's probably one of the most unique hotels I have stayed at within its price point - no endless corridors with nausea inducing carpets. Check-in was quick easy at reception. All the staff were great and went out of their way to talk to us and show us around the building while explaining some of the history. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Being able to come out of your door and look over the lovely courtyard makes up for any little negative. The veggie breakfast was good and cooked to order along with options of continental breakfast. Definitely will stay here again if we're in Sheffield!

The only downside i could say is it's out of the city centre, so a short 10 minute uber will be needed if you're heading out on a night out however this was not an issue for us as we liked it so much we stayed in with drinks while watching the bats In The courtyard - another plus is the 24 hour mcdonalds just a few minute walk away.

We stayed at Garrison in August 2024, and this is one of the nicest and coziest hotels in the UK I've had the pleasure of visiting. Starting with the staff, everyone was extremely courteous and helpful. We arrived much earlier than expected (roughly 3-4 hours before check-in time) and had booked two rooms. They kindly allowed us to check into one room so we could freshen up and make the most of our day. Thank you for that! The location is conveniently situated within the city center, easily accessible by bus and cab. Morrisons is just a stone's throw away. The breakfast options were impressive, with vegan alternatives, and the meal was wholesome and delicious. We were informed in advance about a wedding at the hotel, and our room was thoughtfully positioned away from the party venue, so we didn't hear much noise. The party timing was until 12 am, which shows they consider other guests' comfort. We wanted to visit Castleton in the Peak District, and the hotel's location is conveniently close, with both cabs and buses available from the city center. (Tip: Opt for day passes on local transport to save money.) The rooms were spacious, neat, and tidy. My experience was great, and I highly recommend this place. Positives: - Spacious, neat, and clean rooms - Courteous and helpful employees - No disturbance late at night - Close to city center, accessible via cab and bus - Morrisons nearby - Allows early check-in - Delicious breakfast with vegan options

Downsides: None significant, but complimentary water would have been a nice touch. However, it's not a big deal.

The location suited me very well for one night. Right next door to Morrison’s and McDonalds if you don’t want to eat in the hotel and there is an electric vehicle charger at the McDs. Very good price I thought. Lovely staff who took in a letter for me at reception a few days before I arrived. I didn’t have any food this time.

The unusual layout where you enter into the room directly from the outside through a patio door is interesting but can make you feel a bit insecure if travelling alone. My room was just below ground level so overlooked if you don’t immediately draw the curtains. However I never felt unsafe.

The staff on reception and throughout the building were very courteous and friendly. A chap was pottering about most days tending the gardens and keeping the externals clear and clean. The Breakfast staff were excellent with there service and quality of food served. Chef produced the best omelette I have had, and that's some claim. Full yorkshire fry up is quite small though, one sausage, one slice of bacon, one egg, small portion of beans and mushrooms, two hash brown and half a grilled tomato wouldn't keep a busy person going all morning. Having said that, it was very well cooked and there is plenty of continental options to top up on.

Rooms are quite dated and in need of a bit of a revamp. They are clean but showing the stresses of a well used property. A fair bit of wear around bath, shower, toilet and sink.TV's are old but do work. I was in and out through the day, but would be out all morning each day, as visiting my very poorly mother in hospital. My room was only cleaned the first day of my stay due to this with no communication as to a good time the housekeeping staff would be able to enter the room. I suppose mornings are used to make rooms up for new guest arrivals but a system could be put in place for guests staying more than a night, rather than the do not disturb one. A room available between certain hours card for example.

Lovely room was nice to open a window for fresh air,close to amenities,staff were amazing lovely friendly,nothing was too much trouble from the ladies on reception,bar staff were lovely once you got there attention,room was spotless well done too house keeping

Food wasn't too good,breakfast I was greeted upon arriving,then had to find someone to order my cooked breakfast,solo traveller,everyone else was approached on larger tables,and they got there's, I was sat waiting for 20 mins before,so eventually got up to find some one to take my order,and to be honest breakfast at the supermarket next door would have been better, not worth the price
